FinTech Alliance SaaS Solution Marks Change in Korean Finance Market

SEOUL, South Korea, May 22, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — 12CM (One-two-cee-em), the smart stamp software platform provider and a member company of the Born2Global Centre, has recently inked a collaboration deal with Naver Business Platform (NBP). 12CM has been an active member of the Born2Global Centre since 2018.

FinTech Alliance SaaS Solution Marks Change in Korean Finance Market

NBP is a fully independent subsidiary company of Naver Corporation specializing in cloud IT infrastructure and services (Naver being Korea’s largest search engine as well as operating LINE, the chat service in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand). The deal will see the Echoss Stamp developer’s Open API and Finance Microservice implemented in a FinTech SaaS solution aimed at financial institutions.

Traditionally, such financial services have required strict security measures making cloud-based service development difficult. The fact that cloud technology makes use of a wide variety of frameworks and open source code means that financial institutions have found adoption of these technologies less than ideal.

That being said, NBP is the first cloud operator in the S. Korean domestic market to receive top marks from the Financial Security Institute for infrastructure security. 12CM itself will be providing its service security level protocols, developed and tested over years of R&D and real-world applications, to this collaborative partnership.

Large financial institutions already offer a variety of remote services, such as mobile apps and over-the-phone consultation. However, moving these to the cloud will allow not only faster implementation of entirely new service channels (such as mobile web apps) but also alliance service channels enabling cooperation. The collaboration between 12CM and NBP is slotted to provide a home in the cloud to accommodate these innovative new services.

“Financial institution’s recent trend of ‘non face-to-face’ service is in a state of constant innovation and like financial institution’s websites, the demand for convenient financial service via diverse cooperation channels is always increasing. NBP and 12CM are planning to provide a secure SaaS solution that emphasizes security and flexibility in financial services to the market as soon as possible,” said Sang Young Han, director of NBP.

Jeong Gyoun Han, 12CM of CEO said, “For our initial loan service model, the whole process including security, identification, Open API integration, as well as certificate submission will be structured as a complete self-service. The SDK itself will also be provided in order for users to customize their own mobile web pages. For a smooth and successful launch, in addition to our alliance with NBP, we have also tapped UniFinTech Corp., a consulting company specialized in mobile commerce and IT.”

It is a fact that there is a global trend of more and more software companies moving onto the cloud, and while doing so adopting more SaaS or other “as a service” business models. This Fintech service alliance in the Korean domestic market marks the next step of mobile evolution in the finance IT industry, and we look forward to what it may mean for the future of Fintech.

The Development For Mobile UI/UX And The Design Concepts of Dreame App

SINGAPORE, May 22, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Now reading apps are the mainstream and trusted ways to deliver content and services. There is no doubt that a good reading mobile app has become useful, relevant, and valued so it delights and retains readers.

In the field of reading apps, Dreame app is one of the most popular reading apps for mobile UI/UX ideas with a huge number of books added. It is a good app where the novel writers can publish their stories freely, and readers can read stories online happily.

The Users’ Feedback And The Update of Dreame App

Creating a good reading app for readers is a big challenge. When new readers download Dreame app, they don’t just want the mobile version of the website. They also want a unique reading experience that justifies the time they spend in downloading the app, as well as the space it takes up on their phones.

For the previous version, if readers wanted to read the locked chapters, they needed to pay. But Dreame offered only one payment method – Google pay. However, with the increasing number of readers in different countries, a variety of payment options were needed.

To make the payment process easier for readers, the updated Dreame offered different types of payment options to choose from, such as: DANA,OVO, Alfamart and etc. Now for the updated version of Dreame app, the payment process is quicker and easier, and different countries’ readers can choose their own ways to read freely.

The Development For Mobile UI/UX And The Design Concepts of Dreame App
The Development For Mobile UI/UX And The Design Concepts of Dreame App

With so many different approaches to design, the designers of Dreame app had already dealt with plenty of problems, and knew how to stand out while still appealing to target readers.

Dreame App Design Concepts

With the number of readers increasing, the filed and number of books are expanding. It’s important for mobile designers to consider mobile UI/UX best practices at every step of the design process, which can motivate readers to use Dreame app easily. And here are some design concepts:

Simpler Reading Operation

When readers visit Dreame app on a mobile device, they can start to choose a book and read at hand as quickly as possible. It’s up to the designers to make completing necessary operation as easy as possible. Eliminating everything that isn’t absolutely vital to each reader is a great choice to start to read.

Clear Typography Design

Typography is a key to create a more satisfying reader experience. It’s important to have a clear-cut typographic hierarchy in Dreame app design, so that titles and pictures are easy to spot,  and readers can enjoy squinting at their screen to read any stories on their phones.

Friendly &Unique Appearance

Making Dreame app more friendly and fun by including playful illustrations, bright color palettes, and exciting fonts. Dreame app uses this style of design to provide our readers with more of an immersive online experience.

The Idea of Dreame App Design

In today’s world, the designs of most reading apps are growing complexity. If Dreame app doesn’t lay it out in a way that makes sense, there will not be enough chances to test what it can do and can’t do.

Therefore, the designers team of Dreame app trust their gut, follow their instincts, and one of the most important rules Dreame follows is: remember to respect the platforms, and focus on the customer benefit. So readers can have fast loading time, ease of use, easier payment process and delight during interaction and enjoy their reading time happily and freely.

The Art of Enabling the Disabled

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI and ML) technologies have come a long way since its first inception. Who would have thought that we would have a working model of actual computer-based assistants that can do things like manage our schedules? Who would have thought that we could even use these assistants to manage our homes? These things can even be used to diagnose cancer patients, something impossible without doctors even five years ago.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is at the forefront of AI and ML technology. As one of the world’s largest technology innovators, they would naturally be at an advantage to feed enough data to the technology and accelerate their development. Because they are also one of the largest technology firms any man has ever seen, they are also at an advantage in placing AI and ML in places and applications we may never have imagined.

Linguistics is one segment that has benefitted greatly from technologies today. Linguistics, if you think about it is also one of the most complex things that us humans can create and understand. The context of it and interpretation can be affected by plenty of things too. Linguistics is affected by area, culture, community, heritage, and even lineage.

For example, there are differences between French spoken in France and Canada. There are even subtle differences between French spoken in France and Monaco, or even Switzerland. The most common language of all, English has differences even in spelling and context in Britain, the Americas, and even Australia. English spoken today is also a distinct form of the language that was spoken 50 years ago.

The Pollexy Project

The progression of technology in linguistics have progressed through years and years of feeding all these data into it. That has allowed us to communicate with global communities with more ease than peeling an orange. AWS has taken it a little further than that though. They have gone beyond spoken or written languages. Through something called AWS DeepLens, they have developed translation algorithms to sign languages.

While that technology might sound like it is as simple as gesture controls, it is plenty more than that. Yes, it is technically gesture control and recognition. But it is way larger and more complex than just a solution for end-point devices. The trick is to teach the native algorithm to recognise all the available sign words and even alphabets. The AWS DeepLens Community projects so far has learnt to recognise most of the alphabets in the American Sign Language.

But technology also goes beyond just recognising alphabets to understanding proper words with the algorithm in Amazon Alexa. It is not just about communicating with your friends anymore. It is about using the platform as a home assistant tool, a customer service tool, a command center, and user defined PC experience that mimics voice control and command for us. Instead of using voice though, its all in the gestures.

Making Amazon Alexa respond to Sign Language using AI

The tool they use is called Amazon Transcribe. It works just like any transcribe apps you can find in the market. It supports up to 31 languages currently with more being added by time. It even supports ASL as a component to create text from sign language.

Simple communication is just the beginning for the technology though. AI and ML still has a long way to go even in the medical field. Just like the human race, the technology gets better everyday though. If you really think about it, the technology is not that new in the first place. We have embarked on the journey of having machine built and defined assistants since we started developing computers to help us with simple and complex mathematical problems.

It is just that simple mathematical problem solver has become something much bigger today. Who would have thought that we would let computers fly a commercial airplane? Who would have thought that cars can drive themselves today? Who would have thought that we could hire a private translator without spending any money or any time? You just have to look into your pocket.

Pre-registration will be offered worldwide, simultaneously, through the SUPERTANK BLITZ pre-registration website (https://supertankblitz.smilegatemegaport.com/evt/202005_preregist?lang=en) and Google Play. Users who participate in pre-registration will receive a variety of in-game goods such as Gems, Super Boxes, and special issue Medals.

SUPERTANK BLITZ is the sequel to mobile sandbox game “Super Tank Rumble,” which was released by Smilegate in 2017 and recorded over 20 million downloads worldwide. Chosen by Google as the most innovative game of 2017, “Super Tank Rumble” has been recognized for its original game quality.

The larger framework of the series where various parts are combined to build your very own tank and compete with other players has been maintained, while new elements have been added to character collection and emphasis has been placed on battle content for more casual enjoyment. Furthermore, the entire UI (user interface) of the Tank Assembly page has been dramatically improved, and parts organization has been simplified to enjoy more intuitive tank assembly.

The addition of character elements is the most notable change to the sequel. Users can collect and build a variety of characters through real-time battles. As the character grows, more parts are made available to create an original, powerful tank. Smilegate Megaport CEO Ina Jang said, “Smilegate will continue to break new ground and develop the unconventional genre of ‘casual sandbox’ through SUPERTANK BLITZ,” and that “we ask for your support as Smilegate aims for gamers all over the world who love games to be exposed to more diverse genres of games in order to further develop the game ecosystem in a positive direction.”

Supermicro Unveils Intelligent Retail Edge – Delivers Sophisticated Solution for IoT Workload-Intensive Applications

NodeWeaver and NetFoundry Collaborate with Supermicro to Offer Retailers a Platform to Accelerate Digital Transformation

SAN JOSE, California, May 22, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Super Micro Computer, Inc. (SMCI), a global leader in enterprise computing, storage, networking solutions, and green computing technology, announced an advanced and customizable integrated platform targeting retail and chain store environments. Supermicro’s new platform combines proven hardware/software configurations to support the demand for processing the quantities of data emanating from the growing deployment of IoT and other interrelated computing devices.

Supermicro’s Intelligent Retail Edge provides an integrated software-defined operating platform that significantly simplifies the deployment, management, orchestration, and networking of Edge infrastructure and applications. The platform runs on Supermicro’s IoT and edge hardware, ranging from small edge devices to full-scale rack-based edge servers that can support GPU, FPGA, and other technologies.

“Supermicro’s Intelligent Retail Edge solution provides retailers the engine they need to deliver innovative technologies and services to their customers efficiently,” said Raju Penumatcha, senior vice president and chief product officer, Supermicro. “Built on Supermicro’s flexible Building Block Solutions® architecture and powered by leading-edge software from our partners, this solution is optimized to help address some of the challenges facing the retail industry today.”

Supermicro’s Intelligent Retail Edge is offered in three different certified cluster configurations leveraging the industry-proven SuperServer platform that is optimized for specific sized stores, and application workload requirements.

  • Entry-level cluster platform based on the E100, a small, powerful fanless IoT/Edge gateway server for small stores with space and power constraints, such as small convenience stores or restaurants, running basic workloads such as Point-of-Sale (POS), video surveillance, and inventory management.
  • A mainstream cluster requiring a versatile, high-performance IoT/Edge server based on the E300, has a small physical footprint and superior acoustics for small to medium-sized stores running multiple applications at the edge.
  • High-end cluster configuration utilizing the 1019/5019, a short depth rack-mount edge workhorse server with rich storage and networking options and support for accelerator and GPU technologies needed for AI/ML applications for medium to- large-sized stores, such as grocery stores and mid-sized size retailers.

Developed through a collaboration with NodeWeaver and NetFoundry, Supermicro’s Integrated Retail Edge platform supports small-to-large clusters for retail applications.

“Retail technology is at the beginning of a new era that promises to revolutionize the customer experience, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs,” said Carlo Daffara, CEO and Co-Founder of NodeWeaver, a provider of a universal edge fabric software. “As distributed compute becomes more critical for retail operations, these platforms must be deployed, managed, maintained, and secured on a mass scale. Supermicro’s Retail Edge provides the foundational operating platform for this distributed compute layer, and NodeWeaver is proud to be a part of this solution.”

Providing reliable and secure networking can be challenging in distributed edge environments, and securing customer and point-of-sale (POS) data is critical in retail environments. Supermicro’s Retail Edge platform provides simple, easy to deploy Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) connectivity powered by NetFoundry to deliver exceptional performance, zero-trust security, agility, and simplicity.

“Retailers are innovating to enhance customer experiences,” said Galeal Zino, Founder, and CEO, NetFoundry. “The SuperMicro Retail Edge solution provides next-gen retail applications with the software-defined operating platform, and powerful edge compute they require to innovate.  To securely connect those retail edges with core, cloud, and partners, without needing to manage additional networking servers, the retailer or solution provider leverages Zero Trust NaaS, powered by NetFoundry, and integrated into the solution with this partnership between Supermicro and NetFoundry.”

NodeWeaver’s adaptive hypervisor provides secure and partitioned execution of any application without the traditional overhead of virtualization. Initial performance benchmarks show that the platform can run applications with performance near to that of bare metal execution, while maintaining the ability to provide for high availability and cloud-like flexibility.

XMOV Unveils China’s First AI Virtual Influencer

SHANGHAI, May 21, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Chinese virtual key opinion leader (KOL) Ling (ins: ling.gram_) made her world online debut Monday, leading the latest Chinese internet trend among positive influencers and cultural inheritors and showcasing China’s soft power and culture.

Chinese virtual KOL Ling (ins: ling.gram_) Photo: Courtesy of Xmov

Bearing a close resemblance to humans, Ling (ins: ling.gram_) was co-created by Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) start-up Shanghai Xmov Information Technology and Beijing Cishi Culture Media Company.

Relying on its self-developed full-stack end-to-end AI technology, Xmov has opened the  process of intelligent characterization from intelligent modeling to AI performance animation technology which drives facial expressions, eyes, body and finger movements, and  generating short videos or real-time broadcasts to realize interaction and commercialization of virtual intelligent property (IP).

Ling’s team will generate content around such characteristics as the national essence of Peking Opera and the combination of classic and modern fashion on social platforms like Weibo, Instagram, and TikTok, Xmov said in a statement.

With commercial programming, the 3D virtual figure will engage in business endorsements, live broadcasts, and participate in online and offline activities.

CEO and Xmov founder Chai Jinxiang said virtual IP value will be released at the maximum level via livestreaming and short videos.

The emerging virtual idol sector, backed by China’s younger generation, has been on the fast development track in recent years, with more domestic internet firms increasing investment in this nascent sector.

Despite the size of China’s virtual idol industry being less than 100 million yuan ($14 million) in 2018, with increased investment, it is expected to grow to 1.5 billion yuan by 2023, according to Newsijie.cn.

Last year, virtual idol Luo Tianyi shared the stage with China’s top pianist Lang Lang, marking the country’s first concert between a holographic singer and real-life musician.

Today, Luo’s Weibo account has over 4 million fans.

The virtual idol trend first originated in Japan, where the IP industry has thrived. Hatsune Miku, a virtual idol pioneer, is an anime character who sings through a vocal synthesizer. Miku has performed multiple times in China, singing in both Chinese and Japanese.
