Insticator Launches In Australia, Expands CTV Advertiser Solutions Through Strategic Acquisition

Market-leading media solutions provider across CTV/BVOD, Display, and Video for Australia’s top independent media agencies joins Insticator’s rapidly growing portfolio connecting direct advertiser demand with premium publishers.

NEW YORK, Nov. 15, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Insticator – the Google Certified Publisher Partner (GCPP) for CTV – has continued their trend of rapid expansion in CTV and advertiser solutions by announcing the acquisition of a top managed-service media solutions provider in Australia. This acquisition, now rebranded as Insticator Australia, partners with the region’s largest independent media agencies to deliver impressive results for end clients such as Acer and Suzuki.

Insticator Australia’s CTV Attribution Dashboard solves one of the biggest challenges facing the CTV industry today by providing clients access to real performance metrics. This dashboard shows the true value their CTV advertising is driving for their business.

In addition to heightened digital media solutions, the acquisition brings with it a talented team of media experts who excel at helping clients navigate the complexities of the rapidly evolving CTV marketplace.

“I am blown away by both the technology and the strength and longevity of their client relationships, CTV attribution has been a long-standing problem in the industry, so I’m happy to have a team and product that now solves that issue,” said Insticator CEO & Founder Zack Dugow. “The opportunities from bringing together demand-side CTV innovators with our leading CTV publisher capabilities are limitless.”

CTV — short for Connected TV — enables advertisers to place their messaging in premium content through streaming apps on next-generation smart televisions and similar devices, creating a new frontier for businesses to get in front of their potential customers. Known as BVOD in Australia, this industry has skyrocketed in the first years of the decade, as more and more consumers “cut the cord” with linear television and consume content exclusively through apps.

“We are full-speed ahead with BVOD,” said Deryck Wills – Managing Director of Insticator Australia who came on board with his team through the acquisition.  “I could not be more thrilled to join a company like Insticator, whose innovations in CTV/BVOD offer new possibilities through their publisher solutions and partnerships.”

This latest acquisition comes hot on the heels of another demand-side acquisition: Balihoo, the leader in multi-location marketing, was acquired in April. This pivotal move not only connects Insticator’s publisher clients directly with demand from top franchisors and multi-location clients in the US and North America but also uniquely positions Insticator to bridge the gap between supply and demand. These strategic, demand-side acquisitions empower Insticator to offer comprehensive solutions across CTV monetization, content engagement, commenting, video on demand, display advertising, website monetization, and more.

About Insticator

Insticator holds three key beliefs: the future of social media is distributed, not siloed in the walled gardens of today; publishers deserve a one-stop shop for maximizing ad revenue; and local brick-and-mortar businesses thrive with digital media automation. Insticator diverse company portfolio includes OKO, the GCPP for CTV, and Balihoo, the leader in multi-location marketing. Augmenting these offerings are Insticator-branded products designed to empower publishers in boosting engagement within their ecosystems, fostering active user interactions with site content and each other. This commitment extends globally with the expansion of Insticator into Australia, positioning it as a premier provider of managed-service media solutions.

Collectively, Insticator has reached over 350 million consumers monthly across their network of premium publishers and advertisers, including Kohler, Pearle Vision, Trek, Ancestry, Investing Channel, Brit+Co, Evolve Media, and many more.

Insticator is a proud 6x recipient of the Inc 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies, a 2x recipient of Deloitte’s Fast 500, recognized on Crain’s New York Fast 50 list, recognized by Digiday’s Digiday Media Awards as a company working to modernize digital media, and awarded as one of AdWeek’s Top 10 Fastest Growing Solution Providers globally.

Embracing the Golden Digital Era: Elevating Malaysia’s Potential with Cloud Adoption & Skilling

This article is contributed by Azhar Abdullah, Head of Enterprise at Amazon Web Services (AWS)

As Malaysia pushes towards becoming a regional leader in the digital economy under the Malaysia Madani vision of achieving a highly-skilled, prosperous, and sustainable economy, organizations must now take steps to adopt a digital-first mindset to innovate and transform their businesses.

The digital economy is one of the key economic pillars contributing to 23.2%[1] of Malaysia’s gross domestic product (GDP), which is set to increase to 25.5% by 2025. However, 77%[2] of small and medium enterprises, which contribute almost 40%[3] of Malaysia’s GDP, are still early in their digitalization journey. This represents a huge opportunity for Malaysian businesses to accelerate the pace of digital adoption for tech transformations across the board.

As new technologies emerge, businesses need to invest in both solutions and training to enhance efficiency and productivity in day-to-day work and position themselves for growth. Digital upskilling is a key component of Malaysia’s digital transformation, which includes ensuring employees are equipped with capabilities to deploy cloud-enabled solutions, individuals are empowered for future digital careers, and the digital inclusion of citizens is advanced.

Keeping Pace in an Evolving Landscape

To keep pace with industry disruptions and evolving customer needs, it is essential for business leaders to embrace cloud technology as a strategic priority. Doing so will allow them to benefit from the cost-efficiency, reliability, flexibility, scalability, and security of the cloud.

One such example is the well-loved homegrown curry powder and spice brand, Baba’s Products[4], which adopted AWS cloud to efficiently scale, optimize costs, and implement disaster recovery strategies. With AWS, Baba’s Products has achieved faster time-to-value, reducing the order-to-cash cycle by 40%, and supporting its expanding regional presence with products sold across nearly all retail grocery stores in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei.

Malaysian businesses should move forward on their digitization efforts, to reduce the risk of falling behind as the country moves towards achieving its digital economy goals. Without integrating digital tools and strategies into operations, businesses may face several challenges such as inefficiencies in their productivity levels, resulting in slower delivery of customer products or services. Additionally, with data playing a critical role in decision-making, they might miss out on valuable insights, hindering their ability to make informed choices and strategic decisions.

As part of its strategy, Maxis, Malaysia’s leading converged solutions company and AWS Advanced Tier Partner, taps into resources from the global community AWS Partner Network[5] to drive innovation, modernization, and deliver enhanced personalized experiences for its end customers. Maxis leverages more than 400 AWS-accredited employees to date that provide solutions to local businesses to accelerate cloud adoption.

Building Malaysia’s digital workforce with the right talent

As technology continues to shape the world, education, skilling, and talent play a pivotal role in driving innovation, economic growth, as well as societal progress. In June 2023, Human Resource Minister V. Sivakumar highlighted that based on 2020 World Economic Forum predictions, 4.5 million Malaysians are likely to lose their jobs by 2030 if they do not improve their skills with the emergence of AI[6]

AWS has committed to training 29 million[7] people globally in cloud computing through free training programs by 2025 and has helped 13 million globally access cloud skills training to date. Since 2017, AWS has trained more than 1 million individuals across ASEAN and more than 50,000 individuals in Malaysia.

Training programs like AWS re/Start prepare the workforce for a digital economy, as well as transforming lives in Malaysia. One example is Malaysia’s own re/Start alumni, Ganesan Mahesan, who was faced with the challenge of finding a professional job when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. “During the pandemic, I struggled to find employment in my field. I came across the AWS re/Start program, and it was an excellent introduction to core cloud concepts. I was excited to learn new skills.” Through the program, Ganesan secured a job with the chemical company Evonik as an IT Support Engineer.

Investment in skilling is equally beneficial to both individuals in the workforce and employers. According to a Gallup study,[8] organizations that employ digitally advanced workers, digital technology, and cloud technology reap higher business growth and innovation. In a similar vein, Malaysian workers with advanced digital skills can earn salaries 106% higher, and 74% of respondents express higher job satisfaction.

To stay ahead of the evolving job landscape and skills demands, Bank Islam, Malaysia’s first listed Islamic financial services institution, launched a broad staff upskilling program to give more than 4,000 Bank Islam employees access to foundational cloud skills. This was achieved through a combination of on-demand digital training, live instructor-led training, and group interaction sessions, as part of a skills roadmap to establish the Bank Islam Digital Academy, a permanent learning centre that will drive and grow digital skills across the organization.

Long-term commitment to enable Malaysia’s Digital Era

It is inspiring to see the potential of how cloud technology can enable SMEs, enterprises, government agencies, and citizens. In the public sector, government agencies can tap into the Cloud Framework Agreement with the Malaysian Administrative Modernization and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU), which grants Malaysia’s government agencies and departments access to power IT modernizations and improve citizen services.

Earlier in March, AWS announced its plans to launch an AWS infrastructure Region in Malaysia, which will give government, developers, businesses of all sizes, and non-profit organizations across the country the access to greater choices – from compute and storage, to artificial intelligence and machine learning, and more, to foster innovation and growth. As part of its commitment to the region, AWS is planning to invest $6 billion (approx. MYR 25.5 billion) in Malaysia by 2037. We look forward to seeing how this investment will spur job creation, cultivate skills training, and provide growth opportunities to the communities surrounding our data centres, helping Malaysia reach its potential as a digital leader in the region.

ERS electronic introduces “High Power Dissipation” Thermal Chuck System, which can dissipate up to 2.5kW at -40°C for Embedded Processors, DRAM and NAND wafer test

MUNICH, Nov. 14, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — ERS electronic, the industry leader in the market of thermal management solutions for semiconductor manufacturing, is introducing its latest “High Power Dissipation” Thermal Chuck System. The technology enables accurate and powerful temperature control of a DUT while performing tests of high-end CPUs, GPUs, and high parallelism DRAM devices in the temperature range between -60°C and +200°C.

High Power Dissipation” is the newest thermal chuck system from ERS electronic, suited for wafer test of complex processors and DRAM and NAND devices.
High Power Dissipation” is the newest thermal chuck system from ERS electronic, suited for wafer test of complex processors and DRAM and NAND devices.

During temperature wafer probing of complex embedded processors, such as CPUs and GPUs for machine learning, artificial intelligence or data centers, and high parallelism tests, like DRAM and NAND, a very large amount of power needs to be dissipated to avoid overheating. ERS’s new “High Power Dissipation” System can dissipate wattage up to 2.5kW at -40°C on a 300 mm chuck, thereby allowing the testing of single dies as well as tests with full wafer contact. As an added option, the system comes with an industry-best temperature uniformity of ±0.2°C at -40°C, going down to even ±0.1°C between -20°C and +85°C, making it ideal for the testing of sensors.

The thermal chuck consists of several sections that can be controlled individually, thanks to ERS’s patented PowerSense software. When power is applied to the wafer, it immediately detects the increasing heat and reacts quickly by cooling down the affected area.
To achieve the lightning-fast dissipation coupled with the high temperature uniformity, ERS’s new thermal chuck system comes with a chiller cooled with liquid instead of air.

“For the “High Power Dissipation” system, we made a conscious decision to use engineered fluids, as they allow us to meet the dissipation requirements of the targeted applications. For all other major wafer test operations, we continue to favor air as a coolant,” says Klemens Reitinger, CTO of ERS electronic. “What sets our solution apart is not only the exceptional dissipation performance at cold temperatures, but also that it can be combined with an unparalleled temperature uniformity of ±0.1°C. We are working on additional features for this system, which will improve dissipation performance and section monitoring even further, thereby allowing a full dynamic control.”

“ERS’s “High Power Dissipation” thermal chuck system is solving a significant issue that occurs during the testing of high-end processors and DRAM & NAND devices,” says Liang Wang, Vice President of Shanghai Jinni. “As the demand for these IC’s continue to grow, we expect a strong interest for this system from our Chinese customers, which is why we already have it installed here in our common lab with ERS in Shanghai for customer evaluations and demonstrations.”

The High Power Dissipation Chuck System is available to order now.

“Revenant Hill: A Whiskered Adventure Awaits” Cancelled by The Glory Society

Revenant Hill: A Whiskered Adventure Awaits, the highly anticipated spiritual sibling to Night in the Woods, has been cancelled. The development studio, The Glory Society has officially announced the decision after the departure of critical team members on account of “recent serious health issues.” A statement has been posted on the studio’s website.

revenant hill art.jpeg

In its statement, The Glory Society states that the entire game and all its work is now cancelled. The game which many fans were excited about when it was announced in May will not see the light of day. This is due to two of its core developers and team members, Scott Benson and his wife, Bethany Hockenberry, leaving. The duo also created Night In The Woods. Both have stepped away from the project citing health reasons.

Scott Benson, an animator and artist who contributed to both titles, revealed in a separate post on his personal X account that he had been struggling with his health for a prolonged period. He states, “I got very sick and it didn’t go away. Eventually, I was diagnosed with severe heart failure.”.

The Glory Society, which was the studio that was developing Revenant Hill, appears to be on hiatus. The suspension of operations was justified within the studio’s framework and the cooperative’s dedication to the team’s welfare.

While not a direct sequel, Revenant Hill was met with great excitement as it seems to be set in the same universe as Night in The Woods. While the game may not see the light of day, the game trailer is still available on the studio’s official YouTube channel.

Microsoft Store on Windows 10 Mobile Shuttered

It looks like Microsoft is officially removing itself from the mobile market by quietly turning off the Microsoft Store app’s main features. More specifically, Microsoft has turned off the features for Windows 10 Mobile. With this change, Windows 10 Mobile and the first wave of Windows Phones are no longer officially supported.

Users have reported that the store’s homepage isn’t working properly. In addition, the pages for downloading apps and getting updates will not load at all. This problem even affects pages with app details. While it may seem like this is out of the blue, Microsoft announced that support for Windows 10 Mobile devices would end in December 2019. This happened simultaneously with the ending of Windows Phone 8.1 support.

That said, Windows 10 Mobile does support sideloading, which allows users to install apps from places other than the Microsoft Store. It’s worth noting that some users have reported that the store starts working normally again after running the newest offline package.

Microsoft has recently made it very clear that its current strategy is to focus on AI and the PC market, not mobile platforms. However, CEO Satya Nadella recently said that ending support for Windows Phone was a mistake as the mobile device industry is constantly shifting and evolving that they may have lost a crucial bit in the technology market.
