Dreame Technology to Launch the D10 Plus Robot Vacuum and Mop in June

BEIJING, June 3, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Dreame Technology (“Dreame”), a global leading company in smart home cleaning appliances, is set to launch the new D10 Plus Robot Vacuum and Mop this June, delivering a best-in-class configuration that unlocks even more possibilities for enhanced, customized cleaning.

Dreame Technology to Launch the D10 Plus Robot Vacuum and Mop in June
Dreame Technology to Launch the D10 Plus Robot Vacuum and Mop in June

The D10 Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that represents a breakthrough in power and efficiency. Equipped with 4000Pa super suction, an anti-tangling rolling brush, and LiDAR navigation, it is far more powerful than other robot vacuums that share the same price point. Moreover, it offers up to 45 days of hands-off cleaning, ensuring a spotless home without the need to continuously check up on the machine.

“At Dreame Technology, we believe that technology helps create a healthier life,” said Terry Tian, Head of Product Design at Dreame Technology. “This belief drives our strong focus on R&D, as we seek to continuously innovate and enhance the cleaning experience. We are thrilled to soon unveil the D10 Plus and its cutting-edge features to customers around the world, providing them with a state-of-the-art cleaning experience.”

The D10 Plus was designed to level up cleaning. Its super suction enables it to sweep away large debris, fine particles, and pet hair with four levels of suction power. By turning on “Auto Boost mode” in the app, the machine will automatically increase the suction power when it encounters carpet, and it will reduce the suction power when returning to hard floors to reduce power consumption. Meanwhile, the integrated mop follows up by cleaning the floor, with three levels of water spray that allow it to target stubborn stains, footprints, and juice/coffee stains. The super-dense fiber cloth ensures even water distribution, and dries quickly.

With its automatic dust collection, the D10 Plus is perfect for families, especially those with pets. The intelligent system, boosted by a 2.5L large dust bag, enables hands-free cleaning. After each cleaning session, the D10 Plus then automatically returns to the dust collecting base to empty the dust box, and is able to clean independently like this for up to 45 days.

Moreover, the D10 Plus boasts an innovative double air channel design, one for blowing and the other for suction. This ensures that all dust – even those at the corners of the dust box and in the suction port – is effectively sucked in. Unlike the standard method of robot vacuum dust collection, which sees dust build up and need to be regularly cleaned, the double air channel design ensures the machine stays clean and always looks new. Moreover, its anti-tangling rolling brush easily eliminates long hair and pet hair. With these two powerful capabilities acting in conjunction, families can enjoy peace of mind and know that their house is meticulously maintained by the D10 Plus.

The D10 Plus also makes customized cleaning a possibility. Thanks to intelligent LiDAR navigation boosted by its highly-advanced SLAM algorithm, it provides fast scanning, dynamic and accurate mapping, and efficient route planning. Cleaning methods can also be tailored to surface characteristics. Moreover, with the app, users can enjoy advanced map features, including storing multiple maps, identifying restricted areas and key cleaning zones, and more.

The D10 Plus will be launched in markets around the world this June.

PlayStation State of Play – Everything Coming for PS VR and PS VR2

PlayStation’s State of Play just aired its latest edition earlier this morning. Like always, Sony presented their announcements back to back in spectacular fashion with a supercut of trailers, gameplay footage and announcements. Here’s the rundown of everything they announced for the PS VR2 in their 29-minute stream.

PlayStation’s PS VR2 is getting a whole load of new content. It starts with exclusive VR experiences from titles like Horizon and spans all the way to full games with titles like Resident Evil Village and No Man’s Sky.

Horizon: Call of the Mountain

Developed by Guerilla Games in collaboration with Firesprite, Horizon Call of the Moutain thrusts you into the shoes of Ryas, a former Shadow Carja Warrior looking for redemption. To do this, you will be investigating a new threat to the Sundom. As Ryas, you’re a master climber and archer, skills you’ll need as you take down machines like the massive Thunderjaw! You will come across old and new characters from the main Horizon game, including Aloy herself.

Horizon Call of the Mountain - Announce Trailer | PS VR2

Together with the main game of Horizon Call of the Mountain, you’ll also be able to experience the world of Horizon in the immersive River Ride experience. Take in the sights of the world of Horizon while your friends join you on the PS VR2 and the connected display. But look out as you may encounter some uninvited guests along the way!

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2: Retribution

After the success of the first entry of the Walking Dead’s PS VR game, Saints & Sinners is getting a direct sequel with Chapter 2: Retribution. You return as “The Tourist” to New Orleans in the world of the Walking Dead. While there aren’t many details on the story just yet, Skydance is promising a gripping storyline with more weapons and ways to put them zombies down once and for all. The sequel will bring new firearms like the SMG and sawed-off shotgun and even a chainsaw for all your undead needs.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners Ch2 - State of Play June 2022 Announce Trailer | PS VR2 Games

Together with new weapons, you will also be facing all new enemies like the Axeman who was teased at the end of the first chapter’s Aftershocks expansion. While the main baddy is here to ruin your day and keep you on edge, you’ll also be facing even larger hordes of undead as you work to end the Axeman’s schemes and survive.

Resident Evil Village is Coming to PS VR2

While Resident Evil 4 is coming to the PS5, its most recent entry will be getting the VR treatment. Resident Evil Village will be coming to the PS VR2 when it’s released – hopefully later this year.

Resident Evil Village - State of Play June 2022 Teaser Trailer | PS VR2 Games

You’ll be able to immerse yourself in the Village as Capcom will be using everything that PS VR2 has to bring the game to life. The new PS VR2 headset brings 4K HDR displays with eye tracking and can even pair up with PS5’s 3D audio to put you in the thick of it all as you step into Ethan Winter’s shoes. You’ll be able to control everything in a natural way with the PS VR2’s Sense controllers. Feel everything in real time with PS VR2 when it launches.

No Man’s Sky is Coming to PS VR2

When it comes to games that got better with time, No Man’s Sky definitely takes the medal for it. The game which kicked off horrendously is now thriving with everything that was promised and more. The game has also successfully captured the attention of players both old and new with new campaigns with exclusive rewards. Now, it’s getting even better with a whole new experience coming to PS VR2.

No Man's Sky - State of Play June 2022 Announce Trailer | PS VR2 Games

Hello Games is upping the ante when it comes to space exploration with a whole new experience with the PS VR2. They are revamping everything from game menus to starship cockpits to give a more immersive experience to gamers. While this isn’t the game’s first outing on VR, Hello Games is looking to make the new experience even more immersive with the technology in the PS VR2 and its sense controllers.

That’s about it when it comes to announcements made for the PS VR and PS VR2 systems. Of course, there haven’t been any dates given for when these titles will be available but we’re expecting that Sony and the game devs have more to show before they reveal the exact dates. Keep in mind, that while the PS VR2 has been announced and will tentatively launch in 2022, there hasn’t been an official date as of yet. So, we will wait with bated breath for its release.

Xiaomi Introduces the RedmiBook 15 at MYR 2,399 onward – Everyone is Into PCs Now

When HUAWEI and its sister brand started in the world of Windows PCs, we were quite curious. The dawn of smartphones and tablet devices were regarded by many experts as the beginning to the decline of bulky PCs. If you think about it as well, today we rely more on our smartphones than modern PCs.

The reality today is a large contrast to what the experts thought would happen many years ago. Smartphones thrived, which is largely in line with what was being said at the time. Oddly enough, Windows PC and Macs thrived too, there is even the Chromebooks now. All of which also points to the fact that PCs still have their place in the world today. In most cases, you tend to use both devices for differing functions. That is why Xiaomi also came up with the RedmiBook 15.

  • A9 04
  • 组合01 front
  • 组合01 back
  • 组合01
  • 正右展开
  • 正前开屏90

The RedmiBook 15, to be fair, looks like any other thin and light notebook that came out from any China manufacturers like HONOR and HUAWEI. They all have that same svelte and clean design with minimal branding. You can probably only see the branding on the cover of the laptop and the bottom of the display. Even the cover shell branding is rather subtle on the RedmiBook 15.

As its name suggests, it is a 15-incher notebook. Specifically, you get a 15.6-inch display that boasts up to 1,920 by 1,080 pixels in resolution. It is an anti-glare display with flicker-free technology to protect your eyes. Of course, sitting atop the display is a 720p webcam, nothing too special or surprising there.

The Microsoft Windows 11 machine is powered by Intel’s 11th Generation Core processors. There is no Core i7 model here though, you only get up to a Core i5. We presume that it is because they might want to keep costs low. Storage wise, you get up to 512GB in SSD storage paired with up to 8GB of DDR4 RAM. Graphics is handled by Intel’s UHD Graphics. All of these are kept running for up to 10 hours at a time with a 46Whr internal battery.

Yes, to be fair, there is nothing much to shout about here. Intel’s 12th Generation Core processors are gracing the field now. The UHD Graphics are also a little outdated at this point with Intel’s Iris Xe graphics going on every thin and light you can find in 2022. There is a reason why you might want to get your hands on one of these though, its cost.

Price and Availability

The Intel Core i3 variant of the Xiaomi RedmiBook 15 starts at MYR 2,399 which is not a lot of money to begin with for a Windows 11 machine. If you want to go for the more powerful Core i5 variant, it will set you back MYR 2,799. The Xiaomi RedmiBook 15 will be available 6th June, 2022 onward in all authorised Xiaomi stores nationwide (Malaysia) and on Xiaomi’s official online stores on Shopee and Lazada.

CGTN: Children: From ‘saplings’ to ‘forest’ for Chinese nation

BEIJING, June 3, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Children are highly valued in the Chinese culture and viewed as the future of a family. Furthermore, their growth is vital for the future of China, a nation determined to achieve rejuvenation.

International Children’s Day, which falls on June 1, is celebrated across China every year. Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday stressed efforts to promote the healthy and all-round development of children and extended festive greetings to children across the country.

Two months ago, Xi compared children to “saplings” when attending a tree-planting activity in Beijing, encouraging them to contribute to the country’s development.

“You are like saplings,” he said. “You will eventually grow into towering trees in the future and form a forest for the Chinese nation, a forest of talents.”

Underscoring China’s goal to build a great modern socialist country with Chinese characteristics by the middle of the century, he said, “You have 30 years to go. Now you are 10 years old, and you will be 40 at that time. You will become the pillars of the country.”

Xi encourages children to chase their dreams

Xi loves children and always encourages them to chase their dreams.

“A better life for children is our biggest wish,” Xi said when taking part in an event ahead of International Children’s Day in 2013.

Celebrating the festival in 2014 with students at a primary school, he said children are the future of the country and the hope of the Chinese nation.

“Heroes are cultivated from a young age. The waves behind drive on those ahead. I hope you live with dreams and aspirations,” he told the students.

In May 2013, Xi visited a school in Lushan County of Ya’an City, southwest China’s Sichuan Province, weeks after a magnitude-7.0 earthquake struck the area. In a prefabricated classroom, he attended a class meeting with pupils and encouraged them to work hard in chasing their dreams.

Nine years later, a former pupil who was in the classroom recalled Xi’s words.

“I was sitting in the front row when Grandpa Xi was standing in front of the class. With a smile, he asked what our dreams were,” said Luo Yunfang. “I remember my answer was to work as an editor because I love writing. Grandpa Xi was very pleased. He praised us for our imagination.”

Luo, now a student at Chengdu University of Technology, said she is making her dream come true.

“I joined the media center of our school and have written a lot of articles. I’m kind of living my dream bit by bit,” she said.

China’s efforts in protecting children’s rights

Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, governments at all levels have been providing unprecedented care to children and youth, from ensuring equal access to education and sending teachers to impoverished mountain villages to investing to upgrade facilities in rural areas.

The country has put in place a legal system of more than 100 laws and regulations that comprehensively protect the rights and interests of women and children, according to a white paper released in June last year by the State Council Information Office.

Several laws and regulations have been newly drafted or amended over the past decade to further strengthen the protection of the rights and interests of minors. Two major moves are a revision to the minor protection law, which came into effect on June 1, 2021, and the Law on Family Education Promotion implemented on January 1, 2022.

Meanwhile, China is stepping up efforts to reduce the excessive workloads of students to promote healthy and all-round development.

In July last year, China launched a “double reduction” policy to address the excessive academic burden on primary and middle school students and the over-heated off-campus tutoring.

After the implementation of the new policy, offline off-campus training institutions that offer curriculum subject programs have been reduced by 83.8 percent nationwide, and online training institutions have been reduced by 84.1 percent, data from the Ministry of Education showed.

Electrolux GRO – a future kitchen concept designed to help people eat more sustainably

STOCKHOLM, June 2, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Electrolux introduces GRO*, a future concept aimed at reinventing the kitchen and enabling people to enjoy food in a way that’s sustainable for health and the planet. Through a collection of modular solutions powered by advanced sensors and AI, based on behavioral science and the planetary health diet from the EAT-Lancet report**, Electrolux has created a vision of a better tomorrow.

Food is not only the single most critical factor in human health; the current food system has also severely damaged the climate and our ecosystems. How we eat, cook, and shop needs to be transformed to sustain our planet.

“Electrolux has set the ambition to make healthy and sustainable eating the preferred choice by 2030, and GRO is our testament to that. By challenging conventional thinking of what a kitchen is, we have rethought everything from the start – aiming to help change behaviors by making planet-friendly eating effortless and enjoyable through groundbreaking design,” says Tove Chevalley, Head of Electrolux Innovation Hub.

The GRO concept is entirely built on data and behavioral science, which has been the foundation for every design decision and product feature within the kitchen system. It’s also about exploring how kitchen products can contribute to eating more sustainably. Inspired by experts, chefs, early adopters and thousands of consumers, GRO empowers people to act on key recommendations in the renowned EAT-Lancet report**, designed to support people’s personal needs to move towards a more sustainable diet.

“The way we currently produce food to feed the planet is tragically at the expense of the planet itself. Research shows, one important action we can take to change this is to dramatically reduce consumption of animal source foods in places where they are currently over-consumed. This will help ensure enough healthy food can be produced for every person on the planet without destroying it. Food must be elevated as a key solution by anyone serious about tackling climate change and restoring nature,” says Brent Loken, Global Food Lead Scientist at WWF. Previously, Brent worked for EAT, where he was a lead author on the EAT-Lancet report.

With this in mind, Electrolux created the “jewelry box,” a storage solution within the GRO kitchen system, nudging people to eat less but better meat and explore new and diverse sources of protein.

There is also a global trend in the plant-forward world of reinventing new dishes by mixing techniques and flavors to enhance the taste experience. Specific techniques previously used to prepare meat dishes are now part of the plant-forward world. GRO’s “nordic smoker” enables people to smoke their ingredients at home, inspiring them to combine different flavors.

The concept’s digital platform will help to visualize the user’s eating habits and planetary impact, providing personal goal setting, guidance, and progress measurement over time.
