Collecting data isn’t anything new for global biopharmaceutical companies. For years, the life sciences industry has sat on massive mountains of clinical data, compliance records, and commercial metrics. Truth be told, most of this data historically ended up trapped behind thousands of static dashboards or buried inside rigid, legacy software applications.
Sanofi is looking to completely dismantle that old corporate model. Announcing a major expansion of its digital strategy at Snowflake Summit 26, the biopharma giant is anchoring its future entirely on Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud to become the industry’s first AI-powered enterprise at scale.

From Hours to Seconds: AI in the Field
What does this actually look like for employees on a daily basis? For most of Sanofi’s grassroots workers its takes the form of a new AI agent called Concierge for Field.
Historically, pharmaceutical sales representatives had to spend hours conducting manual research before a clinic visit. They had to comb through distinct database logs, evaluate physician backgrounds, analyse local prescribing trends, and review past corporate engagement history just to map out a single client strategy.
With Concierge for Field, powered by Snowflake Cortex AI, that administrative friction is entirely gone. A sales representative can now map out a comprehensive pre-call plan through a single, natural language conversation. In seconds, the agent evaluates the highest-priority healthcare providers based on their speciality and prescribing history, synthesises past interactions, and emails the complete itinerary straight to the representative’s inbox. What used to take hours of tedious coordination now happens instantly.
Dismantling Legacy SaaS and Rebuilding the Operating Model
But this isn’t just about giving sales teams a cleaner interface. Sanofi’s shift rewires the company’s enterprise tech stack. The company is actively moving away from traditional SaaS products that lock corporate memory into isolated environments. By partnering with AI-native workflow platform Elementum, Sanofi runs its automated applications directly on top of its underlying data layer within Snowflake.
This layout changes the playbook entirely. Typically, massive global organisations waste millions of dollars building complex data pipelines to shift data back and forth between expensive external enterprise software applications. Sanofi leverages Snowflake’s Cortex AI and Snowflake CoWork. Sanofi not only get actionable insights with proper context but also keeps its core assets in a single, secure repository.
Emmanuel Frenehard, Sanofi’s Chief Digital Officer, highlighted the frustration of the old method perfectly, noting that companies have spent years building complex pipelines just to move data in and out of expensive software, simply to access their own data. By building AI directly on governed data, Sanofi eliminates data leakage risks, breaks vendor lock-in, and slashes operational infrastructure costs.
Accelerating Science From Lab to Patient
The agentic pipeline extends far beyond commercial operations. Sanofi is deploying specialised AI agents across procurement, IT, HR, manufacturing, and R&D. In the lab, research teams are utilising this unified foundation to process massive arrays of real-world clinical data at scale.
By stripping away the typical data preparation bottleneck, scientists can analyse clinical outcomes and molecular patterns in real time, dramatically accelerating the analysis that informs high-stakes drug development decisions. To push this deployment from experimentation to production, Sanofi is working hand-in-hand with Snowflake’s Forward Deployed Engineers, a dedicated team of AI researchers, product managers, and data professionals embedding directly inside Sanofi’s internal teams to co-build scalable solutions.
