Nothing today unveiled the Phone (3a) Lite, a new smartphone designed to bring the brand’s unique design and software experience to a much more accessible price point. While it carries a “Lite” name, the phone packs a surprisingly heavy-hitting set of features, including a flagship-grade camera pipeline and an impressive software update commitment, all while reimagining the brand’s signature aesthetics.
Flagship Camera Guts in a “Lite” Body
The standout feature is undoubtedly the camera system. The Phone (3a) Lite features a refined triple-camera setup built around a class-leading 50 MP main sensor. This isn’t just a high-megapixel count; it’s a large 1/1.57-inch Samsung sensor that Nothing claims captures 64% more light than typical sensors in its class, which should translate to excellent performance in challenging light.
Crucially, this hardware is powered by the same TrueLens Engine 4.0 pipeline found in the flagship Nothing Phone (3). This means users get the same advanced processing and AI editing tools, including Ultra XDR photos, Portrait Mode, Auto Tone, Night Mode, Macro Mode, and Motion Capture.
For video, the rear camera supports 4K recording at 30 FPS and 1080p slow-motion at 120 FPS. A 16 MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.
A New “Glyph Light” and Transparent Design
The Phone (3a) Lite reimagines Nothing’s signature transparent design with a more understated styling, encased in glass in both White and Black. For durability, it boasts an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, as well as an internal aluminium battery frame for enhancedcore strength.
Instead of the full, complex Glyph Interface of its flagship siblings, the (3a) Lite introduces “Glyph Light”. This is a more minimal evolution, inspired by classic notification lights. It still enables beloved features like Flip to Glyph for silent notifications, Essential Notifications for key contacts, and a Camera Countdown for group shots. You can also set customizable light sequences for calls and contacts, pairing them with Nothing’s ringtones.
Core Performance and AMOLED Display
The Phone (3a) Lite is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro, an 8-core chipset built on TSMC’s efficient 4nm process with speeds up to 2.5 GHz. This is complemented by an advanced liquid cooling system for gaming stability.
It comes with 8 GB of physical RAM and can add up to 8 GB of virtual RAM for a combined 16 GB to handle multitasking. In a huge win for users at this price, the phone includes a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 2 TB.
The display is a large 6.77-inch flexible AMOLED with a crisp FHD+ (1080×2392) resolution. It features an ultra-smooth 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and gets incredibly bright, with 1300 nits of outdoor brightness and a peak HDR brightness of 3000 nits. It also supports 10-bit colour and 2160 Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain.
5000 mAh Battery and an Improved Update Policy
A high-capacity 5000 mAh battery powers the device. Combined with the efficient chipset and Nothing OS 3.5, the company claims it can comfortably last “almost 2 days” with mixed use. It supports 33W fast charging, hitting 50% in approximately 20 minutes, and even offers 5W reverse wired charging for accessories.
Running on Nothing OS 3.5 (powered by Android 15), the phone promises a clean, fluid interface with features like Smart Drawer, Private Space, and App Locker.
However, the most impressive part is the software support: Nothing is committing to 3 years of major Android updates and 6 years of security patches. This is an exceptional promise for an entry-level phone. The company also confirmed that Nothing OS 4.0 will be rolled out to the Phone (3a) Lite in early 2026.
Pricing and Availability
The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite will be available in Black and White with an 8+256GB configuration, priced at RM 1,199.
Pre-orders begin on November 22, 2025, at nothing.tech and selected partners, and will come with complimentary gifts and an extended warranty.
Open sales will start on November 29, 2025. The Phone (3a) Lite will be available online from the Nothing.tech, Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok shops, as well as from retailers including DirectD, TMT, URBAN REPUBLIC, and operators U Mobile and Yes5G.
