The “A-series” has historically been Google‘s most compelling proposition, offering the core Pixel experience without the flagship price tag. With the newly announced Google Pixel 10a, the company is blurring the lines between its mid-range and premium offerings. The focus this year is heavily on durability, a refined design, and bringing high-end artificial intelligence tools to a more accessible price point.
A Flush Design and Brighter Display
Physically, the Pixel 10a adopts a completely flat back, eliminating the pronounced camera bump that has defined recent generations. The camera bar now sits flush with the rear panel, making it much more pocket-friendly and allowing it to lie completely flat on a desk. The device features an upgraded 6.3-inch Actua pOLED display with a dynamic refresh rate between 60Hz and 120Hz. Google claims this screen is 11% brighter than the previous generation, peaking at an impressive 3000 nits, which should easily resolve any outdoor visibility issues. Durability has also seen a step up, with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protecting the front and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, all housed in a frame utilising high amounts of recycled aluminium and plastic.
Tensor G4 and Everyday AI
Under the hood, the Pixel 10a is powered by the same custom Google Tensor G4 processor found in the mainline series, paired with the Titan M2 security coprocessor and 8GB of RAM. This silicon is primarily tasked with driving Google’s suite of AI features. The device deeply integrates the Gemini assistant for conversational tasks, allowing you to seamlessly manage daily operations. Features like Circle to Search also make a return, ensuring that the A-series does not miss out on the fundamental AI tools that define the modern Pixel ecosystem.
Upgraded Photography with Camera Coach
Speaking of photography, the device is equipped with a dual rear setup comprising a 48-megapixel wide lens and a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor, alongside a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Beyond raw megapixels, Google is introducing Camera Coach, an AI-driven feature that provides real-time guidance on lighting and composition. The popular Add Me feature has also been expanded to support larger group shots, allowing the designated photographer to seamlessly insert themselves into the final image. Additionally, the phone now supports Macro Focus for extreme close-ups and Auto Best Take to ensure everyone looks their best in a single frame, alongside staple features like Night Sight for low-light scenarios.
Battery Life and Satellite SOS
Endurance is another key pillar, with a typical 5100mAh battery that Google claims will deliver over 30 hours of standard use. When plugged in, the phone supports 45W fast wired charging, capable of reaching a 50 percent charge in about 30 minutes, alongside 10W wireless charging for added convenience. The company is also promising seven years of operating system and security updates, which adds significant long-term value to a mid-range purchase. Notably, Google has brought Satellite SOS to the A-series for the first time, allowing users to contact emergency services even without cellular reception or Wi-Fi.

The Google Pixel 10a is available for pre-order today and will officially hit shelves starting 5 March 2026. The device comes in four distinct colourways: Lavender, Berry, Fog, and Obsidian.
The smartphone is officially priced at RM 2,299.
The device can be purchased via the official Google Store and through major authorised carriers nationwide. Furthermore, official phone cases will be available in colours matching the devices for users who prefer a coordinated look.
