Danone Specialized Nutrition Malaysia has been recognized as one of Asia’s best employers for 2025, securing five major awards at the HR Asia Awards 2025. The company’s focus on digital transformation was a key driver for these wins, specifically the Tech Empowerment Award, which highlights its proactive approach to integrating technology into its workforce strategy. Alongside this, Danone also received accolades for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Sustainable Workplace, Most Caring Company, and was named one of the Best Companies to Work For in Asia 2025 for the second consecutive year.
Tech-Driven Workforce Transformation
The Tech Empowerment Award underscores Danone’s commitment to future-proofing its operations and employees. A central pillar of this strategy is the “AI for All” program, launched in partnership with Microsoft. This initiative, coupled with the deployment of Copilot capabilities, is designed to equip employees with the tools needed for smarter productivity and innovation. Rather than viewing technology as a mere operational tool, Danone has integrated it into the daily workflow to enhance problem-solving and efficiency.

Beyond productivity tools, the company has also prioritized digital resilience. Danone runs dedicated cybersecurity awareness campaigns and practical competitions to ensure that its workforce is not only digitally literate but also security-conscious. This dual focus on capability and security reflects a nuanced understanding of the modern digital landscape.
Marlini Abdul Rashid, HR Director at Danone Specialized Nutrition Malaysia & Singapore, noted that these initiatives align with Malaysia’s broader push toward a digital economy and cater to the expectations of a Gen Z workforce. By emphasizing ethical AI use and digital upskilling, the company aims to meet the demand for tech-driven careers while contributing to national workforce transformation.
A Culture of Care and Inclusion
While technology played a significant role in this year’s recognition, Danone’s people-centric culture remains a core strength. The company, which has operated in Malaysia since 1958, continues to uphold its mission of “Bringing Health Through Food to as Many People as Possible”. This purpose-driven approach extends to its internal culture, which emphasizes empathy, transparency, and progress.

In 2023, Danone became the first food company in Malaysia to achieve B Corp certification, a global standard for social and environmental performance. Building on this, the company has embedded inclusion into its daily practices, mandating human rights training for all employees and introducing specialized training on disability inclusion and neurodiversity for HR teams and leaders.
The company also offers market-leading benefits, including a 19% employer contribution to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), 134 consecutive days of maternity leave, and comprehensive wellness programs under its “Be Well” initiative. These efforts have contributed to a single-digit attrition rate, positioning Danone well ahead of industry benchmarks.
Danone’s recent awards highlight a successful blend of technological adoption and a deep commitment to employee well-being, setting a benchmark for what a modern, future-ready employer looks like in Malaysia.
