Ramco Systems is marking 30 years in Malaysia with a look at what comes next for the enterprise software company, including a preview of Nebula, its upcoming AI-native enterprise platform.
During a recent media briefing in Kuala Lumpur, Ramco shared how the new platform is being developed to move enterprise software from a “system of record” towards a “system of intelligence” and eventually a “system of action.”
Nebula represents the third major rebuild of Ramco’s platform in three decades. Rather than requiring users to retrieve and interpret information before deciding what to do next, the platform is designed to identify what requires attention, bring together the relevant information and prepare an action for human approval.
During the briefing, Ramco demonstrated this through an inventory scenario where the platform identified a projected stock shortfall across multiple warehouses and prepared the corresponding replenishment requests.
“Nobody running a business today is short of information. They are short of the time to go and assemble it into something they can act on,” said Abinav Raja, Managing Director of Ramco Systems.
“What we are building is meant to do that assembly for them, and bring the next step with it, while leaving the judgement where it belongs.”
Payroll is another area where Ramco sees this approach being applied. Instead of anomalies only being identified during a monthly processing cycle, continuous validation could flag issues as they arise. AI and machine learning handle the processing while payroll teams retain the review and final sign-off.
30 Years in Malaysia
Ramco has operated in Malaysia since 1996 and today processes payroll for more than 100,000 employees every month across over 50 Malaysian organisations in more than 15 industries.
Kuala Lumpur also serves as one of Ramco’s regional support hubs for HR and Global Payroll, while Singapore serves as its Asia headquarters.
During the briefing, the company highlighted customers including Valiram Group, Hitachi Energy and Aurecon, reflecting its presence across HR and multi-country payroll operations in the region.
With Nebula, Ramco is looking to reduce the amount of manual work involved in turning enterprise data into action, while keeping human judgement and approval in the process.
