Apple has once again transformed personal audio with the official announcement of the new AirPods 5 series. Designed to deliver exceptional sound quality and advanced intelligence, the latest lineup brings professional-grade listening features to Apple’s most popular open-ear earbuds. Users can now enjoy a quieter world without sacrificing the natural comfort of an open design. Apple has engineered two distinct models to cater to different user preferences and charging habits.

AirPods 5 – Enhanced Basics
The standard AirPods 5 model brings a major acoustic leap to the entry-level open-ear form factor. It is powered by an all-new multiport acoustic architecture that precisely controls airflow inside the housing. This advanced design works alongside next-generation Adaptive EQ to deliver richer bass and crisp vocal clarity across all your favourite tracks.
For the first time in an open-ear design, Apple has introduced breakthrough Active Noise Cancellation. This system removes up to 50% more external noise compared to the previous generation. Whether you are commuting on a noisy train or relaxing at a busy cafe, the earbuds quiet your surroundings effortlessly. The open-ear form factor remains light and comfortable, sitting naturally in your ears for hours without causing fatigue. It also features a refined Transparency mode that lets outside sounds pass through naturally so you remain fully aware of your environment.
AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case (Yes, it’s different)
For users who want extra convenience and expanded control options, the AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case offers a premium upgrade. This version shares the same ergonomic open-ear form factor and powerful noise-cancellation capabilities as the standard model. However, it introduces a first for the open-ear lineup by adding physical volume control right on the stem. You can now swipe up or down on the stem to adjust your listening volume quickly without pulling out your phone.

The included charging case supports versatile power options. You can charge it using an Apple Watch charger, any Qi-compatible wireless charging pad, or a traditional USB-C cable. Battery life is also enhanced on this model, providing up to five hours of continuous music playback with active noise cancellation turned on. The charging case extends that total listening time to twenty-two hours, ensuring your music keeps playing throughout busy workdays and weekend travels.
More Intelligent than Ever Before
The new AirPods 5 series packs an impressive suite of intelligent features powered by advanced computational audio and Apple Intelligence. When paired with a compatible iPhone running the latest software, users gain hands-free access to Siri AI. Siri sounds more expressive and natural, handling complex personal context requests across messages, emails, and photos entirely through voice commands. You can also interact with Siri discreetly using simple head gestures. Just nod your head yes or shake your head no to answer calls and respond to notifications without saying a word.

Another standout feature is Live Translation. This tool breaks down language barriers by letting users communicate smoothly across different languages directly through their earbuds. Adaptive Audio dynamically blends Transparency mode and Active Noise Cancellation based on your changing surroundings. Furthermore, Conversation Awareness automatically lowers your media volume when you start speaking to someone nearby, making casual chats seamless and convenient.
