Gaming phones have historically forced users into a difficult compromise. You could have top-tier performance and sustained frame rates, but you usually had to carry a device that felt like a brick in your pocket and looked like a sci-fi prop. REDMAGIC has been chipping away at this stereotype with its “Air” series, and the newly launched REDMAGIC 11 Air appears to be its most convincing argument yet that a gaming rig can double as a daily driver.
The most striking aspect of the device is arguably its battery density. Despite maintaining an ultra-slim profile, REDMAGIC has managed to fit a massive 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery inside the chassis. For the average user, this translates to genuine multi-day endurance for standard tasks, or enough juice to handle extended gaming sessions without being tethered to a wall socket. When the battery does eventually deplete, 100W fast charging ensures you aren’t waiting around for hours to get back in the game.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with the dedicated RedCore R4 gaming chip. This dual-processor approach allows the main chipset to focus on raw computation while the R4 handles audio, haptics, and lighting, theoretically freeing up resources for smoother gameplay. To keep thermals in check—a notorious challenge in thin devices—the phone utilizes an active cooling system. This includes a high-speed turbofan and a large vapor chamber, a setup designed to prevent the thermal throttling that often plagues standard flagships during long matches of Genshin Impact or PUBG Mobile.

The visual experience is driven by a 6.9-inch 1.5K AMOLED display. It supports a 144Hz refresh rate, which is critical for competitive shooters where every millisecond counts. The screen also features 2592Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain during late-night sessions. While the focus is clearly on performance, the camera system hasn’t been completely neglected. A 50MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) sits alongside an 8MP ultra-wide lens, offering a functional setup for daily photography, even if it doesn’t aim to compete with photography-first flagships.
On the software front, the device runs on REDMAGIC OS 11.0, which integrates Google Gemini AI for features like real-time translation and smart device management. Connectivity is also future-proofed with support for Wi-Fi 7 and 5G, ensuring that lag is minimized on the network side as well.
