The Harman Kardon Aura Studio line has always been as much a piece of interior design as a speaker. Its iconic transparent dome is instantly recognisable. With the new Aura Studio 5, Harman Kardon is evolving the line with significant upgrades to both its audio internals and its signature lighting system.
A Reimagined 3-Way Speaker Design
The most significant technical upgrade is inside the dome. The Aura Studio 5 moves to a reimagined three-way speaker design, which fundamentally changes how it produces sound.
The new hardware array now includes six full-range drivers, a dedicated subwoofer for the low-end, and, new to this generation, a precisely tuned tweeter. The new tweeter delivers crisper highs and mids resulting in better vocal clarity. Harman Kardon is leveraging the tweeter with the aiming of making voices in music and podcasts sound sharper and more distinct from the mids and bass.
This new driver array is paired with HARMAN’s proprietary Constant Sound Field technology. This is engineered to deliver improved clarity and a wider soundstage, making music feel open and spacious from any angle.
Beyond the Glow: Multi-Layered Light Projection
The visual element has also been completely overhauled. Instead of just a simple ambient glow, the Aura Studio 5 features a new dynamic, multi-layered lighting projection system.
This system actively projects light effects, blending them onto nearby walls and ceilings or pulsing rhythmically within the transparent dome itself. It comes with five nature-inspired themes: Ocean, Aurora, Blossom, Sunrise, and Fireplace. For those who want a specific look, you can bypass the dynamic themes and select a static colour to match your room. The design itself has been refined with premium materials and features a new hovering Harman Kardon logo that appears to float inside the chamber.
Control for both the audio EQ and the new lighting effects is handled via the Harman Kardon ONE app. For connectivity, the Bluetooth speaker supports stereo pairing as well as multi-speaker connection through Auracas, allowing for a more seamless, expanded home audio setup.
Pricing and Availability
The Harman Kardon Aura Studio 5 is priced at RM1,599.
It is available for pre-order from 7 to 10 November 2025, with pre-orders including exclusive gifts while stocks last.
The speaker officially launches on 11 November 2025 and will be available from Harman Kardon’s official online stores on Lazada, Shopee, and Swap Asia.
