This foundation provides a solid launchpad for the developers to expand the game world and introduce new content over time.

Standard Edition: The Core Concord Experience

Launching in August, Concord will offer a standard edition (available physically and digitally) that delivers the full game experience. This includes access to all 16 playable Freegunners, 12 unique maps set across various worlds, and six distinct team-based game modes. Cloud Streaming Comes to PlayStation Plus Premium

PlayStation Plus Premium is starting to make sense. Sony introduced the all-new PlayStation Plus more than a year ago, however, the service and its tiers have had a hard time enticing users to subscribe. As it stands now, PS Plus now has three tiers: essential, extra and premium (or deluxe in markets without streaming). At the very bottom is essential which offers little more than online multiplayer and free monthly games. The extra tier gives access to the Games Catalogue while Premium adds on the classics catalogue and game trials. However, that’s about to change with the introduction of game streaming to the service at its premium tier. While the service was announced a little over 12 months ago, it’s finally making its debut.

Starting this month, gamers will be able to start accessing PS5 cloud streaming. With the service kicking off, you’ll be able to play PS5 games without the need for lengthy downloads. Instead, the games will be instantly streamed from Sony’s servers. This will help in eliminating the waiting time and ensuring that you can dive into your chosen game at a moment’s notice.

Sony isn’t looking to stream games in low quality with the service. Instead, when streaming PS5 games, you can enjoy high-quality resolution options, including 4K, 1440p, 1080p, and 720p, all at up to 60 frames per second. This also includes HDR support. Sony is also bringing support for 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound and Tempest 3D Audiotech which is supposed to make game audio even more immersive.

Sony’s approach to cloud gaming is refreshingly flexible. PlayStation Plus Premium members can stream the games they own or wish to try out. While some games can be directly streamed, others can be downloaded, providing you with the choice that best suits your gaming preferences. You’ll also be able to capture up to 3 minutes of gameplay while streaming.

Here are some notable titles you’ll be able to stream or download as a PlayStation Plus Premium member: Resident Evil 4, Dead Island 2, Genshin Impact, Fall Guys, and Fortnite. Additionally, you can access game trials for various titles, such as Hogwarts Legacy, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and The Calisto Protocol. These game trials enable you to test these titles before deciding to purchase them.

While not all games will be available at launch, Sony promises to support hundreds of PS5 titles. Some of the top PS5 hits are already in the lineup, including Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, Mortal Kombat 11, and Saints Row IV. This is just the beginning, with the game catalogue set to expand significantly in the future.

Pricing & Availability: Unlocking the Future of Gaming

As mentioned earlier in the article, you have to be subscribed to PlayStation Plus Premium in supported countries to access the service. At the time of the announcement, PS Plus Premium is priced at USD$159.99 (MYR755.11) a year or USD$17.99 (MYR84.91) a month. There is also a 3-month subscription for USD$49.99 (MYR235.94).

Availability will be rolled out in phases in select markets. As of now, the service is scheduled to live in Japan on October 17, 2023, followed by Europe on October 23, 2023 and North America on October 30, 2023.

At the moment, cloud gaming through PlayStation Plus Premium will be available in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United State.

God Of War TV Series Coming to Amazon Prime Video

God of War is coming to life thanks to a deal between PlayStation Studios, Sony and Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime broke the news in a single tweet which read “God of War is coming”. The announcement comes barely a week after God of War won six awards at the Game Awards.

According to Deadline, Prime Video has been in negotiations with Sony and PlayStaion to bring the critically acclaimed game to the silver screen since its first report in March. It appears like negotiations have gone well with some of Hollywood’s best TV Fantasy talent coming onboard. The God of War series is apparently going to be helmed by Rafe Judkins who has worked on titles like Amazon’s “The Wheel of Time”, “Agents of SHIELD” and “The 4400” to name a few. He’ll be working with the creators of “The Expanse” Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. The series has already been in production since March according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Fan of the series will definitely be excited to see where the series takes its inspiration as God of War as a franchise has a rich library of tales to tell. According to the report from Hollywood Reporter, the story will be taking its queue from the game after Kratos hangs up his blades and retires to the Norse realm of Midgard. Of course, if the game is any indication, we’re in for loads of adventure and thrills as Kratos and Arteus discover that his late wife’s last wish was a quest in disguise. The father and son duo will be facing the minions of Hel and take on new gods and mythical creatures as they seek to save the world.

God of War

God of War is the latest game in Sony’s library to get the Hollywood treatment. It joins the ranks of Unchartered and, most recently, The Last of Us. There’s no indication when the series will be released nor any news of the cast just yet.

Discord is Coming to Playstation

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) President and CEO, Jim Ryan, announced in a post on the SIE Blog that Discord and Playstation will be coming together in new ways. The news comes on the heels of a failed acquisition by Microsoft of the popular chat platform. The announcement seems to be a commitment by Sony to crossplay which will be coming to their Playstation platform.

Together, our teams are already hard at work connecting Discord with your social and gaming experience on PlayStation Network. Our goal is to bring the Discord and PlayStation experiences closer together on console and mobile starting early next year, allowing friends, groups, and communities to hang out, have fun, and communicate more easily while playing games together.

Jim Ryan, President & CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment

The partnership sees Sony Interactive Entertainment make a minority investment in Discord as part of the platform’s Series H funding. It will also see Discord make its way to Sony’s Playstation platform starting early next year. That said, no details on what Discord coming to Playstation have been revealed. There is some speculation that the partnership may simply be the ability to sign in to Discord with your PSN account while some are more optimistic that the chat platform will see an official app for the Playstation 5 and possibly last generation’s Playstation 4.

1080p Full HD Comes to PlayStation Now!

Sony is one of the most successful brands in gaming and they are sort of expected to get cloud gaming right. They have the expertise and infrastructure to do so, in the eyes of many in the industry at least. So far though, the reception and implementation has been less than stellar at best; but it works. Do not get us wrong though, cloud gaming is a great alternative to buying your own consoles or build expensive gaming PCs at this day and age, especially when everything is in shortage. To be fair, we have not even gotten our hands on a PlayStation 5 yet.

In that case, Sony’s announcement and launch to PlayStation Now is a great welcome to not just us. It is a huge welcome to people who are stuck at home due to the pandemic in 2020; that is almost every single one person in the world. It is a big welcome to those who cannot afford a console, or even a gaming PC at the moment. It is also the perfect solution to portable gaming, because you can technically play games on your GPU-less slim and light notebook PC. You can technically play games on PlayStation Now on your TV without ever owning a console.

There are some good things to PlayStation Now. Other than playing it on your PC and on your TV without a console, you can do it over your PlayStation 4 as well. While you can only play at 720p, it also means that you spend less on buying games since it is a subscription-based service. You also do not need the game to be installed in your console, which also means you do not need to upgrade your HDD or SSDs when it gets full in the console. The best thing is though, you get to play all of PlayStation’s exclusive titles and all the AAA titles available to the PlayStation console with one subscription. From plenty of reports too, PlayStation Now works, and that matters.

There is a caveat though, you were only streaming the games over at 720p. There are some obvious reasons why, which we will not get into in this article. But that caveat may be no more.

Sony PlayStation has just announced that Full HD 1080p streaming will be available starting this week. Implementations globally will vary depending on regions, but it will happen across regions that already has PlayStation Now available. The addition of Full HD streams also comes with a slew of new games to play from April 2021 onward.

There are no mentions yet on whether Full HD 1080p game streaming will be available across the entire PlayStation Now platform or limited to selected games. The Full HD 1080p stream though brings PlayStation Now up to par with game streaming services like Amazon’s Luna which streams games at a maximum of Full HD 1080p. Google Stadia still boasts 4K resolution support for selected titles, to a degree of success. Competing streaming services are also testing and moving toward Full HD 1080p support so we can expect more cloud gaming services to join PlayStation Now to offer Full HD 1080p gaming experience; a big step up from HD 720p.

Sony’s PlayStation Now is not officially available in Malaysia just yet. If you are planning to look into getting PlayStation Now though, subscriptions start at US$ 9.99 (MYR 41*) a month onward. For now, if you already own a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 console but still want to have the freedom to game anywhere, there is PS Remote Play available as long as you can hook yourself up to a stable high-speed internet connection anywhere in the world.

5 Titles You’ll Definitely Want on Your PlayStation 5

The era of the Sony PlayStation 5 (PS5) is finally here and it brings with variety of exciting gaming titles to look forward to. In this new generation, Sony’s iconic gaming console series is said to deliver the most immersive experience to date, thanks to its impressive specifications and the DualSense controller. We already know this console is going to be epic and probably the best line up for the console ever.

With tons of PS5 games confirmed for arrival, we are summing up 5 of the most promising games coming to the new console.

1. Marvel’s Spider-man: Miles Morales

Source:Caboon

Following the success of 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man which followed Peter Parker, Sony and Marvel are now zooming in on one of Marvel’s most popular Spider-Men: Miles Morales. What was initially supposed to be a piece of added content for the original game is now a full sequel to the game akin to Uncharted: Log Legacy.

The sequel will have all the action packed gameplay that made the original Spider-Man one of the best titles on the PS4 but it will take it to a whole new level with better graphics, more immersive gaming and even some surprises for players. Marvel’s story telling will, of course, take center stage as they unfold a new chapter of the Spiderverse. The game is expected to launch on November 12, 2020 and will be a launch title for the PS5.

2. God of War: Ragnarök

Source : WhatCulture gaming

It’s hard to deny that 2018’s God of War from Sony is still one of the best games on the PlayStation 4; so it comes as no surprise that Sony unveiled the next chapter in Kratos’ story just recently. The new chapter, God of War: Ragnarok, will continue two years after where God of War left off; telling the story that is unfolding as Kratos and his son, Atreus.

Although not much has been revealed of the game, we do know that this time, Kratos will be facing Ragnarök – the supposed end of the world according to Norse mythology. Seeing as how the tales of God of War has always seen Kratos’ going after a pantheon of Gods, it would be a surprise to see Kratos and Thor clash. The bar is set pretty high for this installation as God of War brought an action packed, open world adventure to the PS4 like no other. There is no actual date for the game released but we do know that it will be coming in 2021.

3. Cyberpunk 2077

Source: Wccftech

The new open-world, role playing game from CD Projekt Red looks like it’s going to be an immediate hit thanks to it’s gigantic, open world. Being a CD Projekt Red title, it will undoubtedly come littered with side quests and immersive story missions. Cyberpunk 2077 is set in a futuristic world where humans and technology have converged. It will feature extensive character customisations, vehicles and character choice driven story-lines.

The stories will began as you choose your own life path. You’re able to choose from three paths: Street kid, Nomad or Corpo. Cyberpunk 2077’s story will revolve around V, the protagonist which the player controls while you explore the dystopian Night City. While not much else is known about the game, one thing is certain – you’ll be meeting Keeanu Reeves in your Cyberpunk 2077 exploits.

Cyberpunk 2077 was initially set to debut on 19 November 2020 as part of the PlayStation 5 launch title line up but CD Projekt Red made the announcement in a Tweet that the title will be delayed. The new release date is set for 10 December, 2020 – just in time to binge over Christmas. I

4. Far Cry 6

Source: Metro

The Far Cry series is well known for several factors: its well-designed, expansive worlds, and a first-person immersion experience like no other. Far Cry 6 is the latest installment of the franchise.

In Far Cry 6, you take on the role as the revolutionary leader, Dani Rojas, a revolutionary in the thick of a battle for the future of Yara, a fictional Caribbean island. The country is divided and protests are taking over the place opposing the ongoing dictatorship of Anton Castillo, the antagonist of the title.

The title was initially set for release on 18 February 2021 for the PlayStation 5. However, Ubisoft has since pushed the release with a release window of between April 2021 and March 2022.

5. Final Fantasy XVI

Source: PlayStation Blog

A PlayStation generation would be incomplete without a Final Fantasy release. Final Fantasy XVI is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix. The upcoming title has received a provisional rating of PEGI 18, the most mature that any Final Fantasy game has received.

The new epic in the Final Fantasy story will be taking place in the world of Valisthea – a land blessed in the Light of the Mothercrystals. However, the world is divided into six factions. The latest entry could be a continuation in the Fabula Nova Crystallis with the ethos centered around the crystals.

Final Fantasy XVI will feature a more robust combat system and will also feature the return of summons, known this time as Eikons. We’ve already seen Phoenix and Ifrit in the trailer. There is no actual date for Final Fantasy XVI released, but it is expected to launch at early of 2022. The title will be a timed exclusive for the PlayStation 5

99% of PS4 games will be Playable on the Playstation 5 according to Sony

With the pending arrival of Sony’s long-awaited next-generation console: the PlayStation 5, many are looking for more information about the system’s new UI and for more concrete information on how the backward compatibility will work on the PS5. To cut the issue down to size, one of the biggest questions is whetherr you’ll be able to play PS4 games on the new console.

After much speculation and confusion, Sony has officially announced that approximately 99 percent of the over four thousand titles available on the PS4 will be playable on Playstation 5 consoles. So far, only 10 games are off the list which: DWVR, Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One, TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2, Just Deal With It!, Shadow Complex Remastered, Robinson: The Journey, We Sing, Hitman Go: Definitive Edition, Shadwen, and Joe’s Diner.

Source: Sony

System architect Mark Cerny expressed that the company has been testing the best 100 most played PS4 diversions, and “nearly” all of them will be working as intended when the Playstation 5 arrives. Sony has moreover guaranteed it has, as of now, tried “hundreds of titles” and will be testing “thousands more as we move toward dispatch”. This mean you will likely be able to play games that you have purchased on the PS4 and play them on PS5. Although, we haven’t heard from Sony just yet on how backwards compatibility will work when it comes to digital libraries from the PlayStation Store. That said, Sony strongly suggested to run your PS4 games on PS5 before buying any add-ons or DLC to ensure there is no any other ‘error or unexpected behavior’ occur while playing.

Sony has already done a public tear down of the PS5 and given us an in-depth look at the console’s specs and features. These include an NVMe SSD for super-fast load times, ray-tracing support, a built-in 4K Blu-ray player, backwards compatibility with thousands of titles in the PS4’s game library and a massive cooling system. With all these powerful specs and PS5’s Game Boost Feature, it is expected that compatible PS4 titles will run more smoothly and have a higher frame rate than on the PS4.
