For nearly three decades, Samsung has been a fixture at the Olympics, ensuring that athletes have the technology to document their journey. As the Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, the company has just unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition, a specialised device designed exclusively for the nearly 3,800 athletes competing at the upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games. This isn’t just a rebranded phone; it’s a bespoke piece of hardware intended to serve as a digital companion from the Opening Ceremony to the final podium moment.

Designed for the Podium
The most striking aspect of this edition is its aesthetic, which pays homage to the host nation. The device features a signature blue back glass that reflects the “Italian azure” and aligns with the unique style of the Milano Cortina 2026 branding. This is complemented by a custom gold metal frame, symbolizing the pursuit of excellence and the ultimate goal of every competitor: the gold medal. To complete the package, the phone comes with a clear magnet case adorned with a blue circular magnet and gold laurel leaves, a classic motif of victory.
Functionally, the phone is built to capture memories in new ways. The “Victory Selfie” program, which debuted in Paris, returns with an expanded scope. For the first time, it will include team sport competitions, allowing entire squads to capture their podium moments together directly from the stage. To facilitate this, the phone features a dedicated “Dual Recording” mode accessible via a simple swipe. This allows athletes to use both the 50MP main camera and the front camera simultaneously, recording their own reactions alongside the scene in front of them—perfect for capturing the atmosphere of the Olympic Village or the roar of the crowd.
Intelligent Features for Athletes
Beyond the camera, the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition is loaded with practical tools powered by Galaxy AI. The “Now Brief” feature provides personalized daily updates, including schedules and fitness summaries, ensuring athletes stay on top of their rigorous timelines. For international competitors navigating a foreign country, the on-device Interpreter is a game-changer. It offers real-time translation that works even without a network connection, a crucial feature for communicating in the potentially remote, mountainous areas of the competition venues.
Connectivity is also taken care of. Each device comes pre-loaded with a 100GB 5G eSIM, ensuring athletes are always online to share their experiences. The phone also integrates with Samsung Wallet to offer convenient perks, such as a “Coca-Cola Free Beverage Key” for use at vending machines throughout the Olympic Villages. Additionally, the pre-installed Athlete365 app provides vital performance and mental health support, keeping competitors informed and supported throughout the Games.
A Legacy of Connection
Samsung’s involvement goes beyond just handing out free phones. The company is also launching the “Victory Profile,” a photo series captured on the Galaxy S25 Ultra that highlights the personal journeys of athletes from select National Olympic Committees. This initiative aims to show the human side of the competitors, moving beyond just their athletic performance to celebrate their individual passions and personalities.
This special edition Z Flip7 continues a tradition that began in Sochi 2014, reinforcing Samsung’s role in connecting the Olympic community. By providing a device that is both a high-performance tool and a commemorative keepsake, Samsung ensures that the athletes of Milano Cortina 2026 will leave with more than just memories—they’ll have the digital proof to share them with the world.
Release Plans
As a specialized device created solely for the athletes of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition will not be available for public retail purchase. The devices are set to be distributed directly to athletes at Olympic Villages across six cities starting on 30 January 2026. Athletes will also have access to on-site support at Samsung Open Stations to help with setup and data transfer, ensuring they are ready to go from day one.
