PRISM+ Officially Launches Their New Q Series Pro TVs – 86-inch 4K UHD TV for Less Than MYR 10,000? Yes, Please!

They say that your Television (TV) is the modern-day centerpiece of your living room. It becomes one of the first few furnitures that you get for a living room. It is your entertainment hub, and in the age of IoT (Internet of Things), your TV becomes your smart home’s central hub and control panel. It is no wonder that large format 4K UHD TVs is one of the first and biggest consideration when designing a home. In some cases, a modern living room is designed around your TV choices.

Choosing the right TV set for your home is not easy though. There are plenty of choices for a TV today, anywhere from the budget option to the premium option. In the world of TVs though, you get what you pay for. What if we tell you that you can get more than what you pay for?

If you have not heard of PRISM+, we cannot really blame you for it. It is, technically, a new player in the display industry. They made their mark in Malaysia back in 2021 by first releasing their 34-inch ultra-wide gaming monitor.

They have since grown strength to strength, launching new models catering to a larger variety of needs. Their growth can also be associated with the fact that their displays are some of the best valued displays you can find in the market. This is also translated when they started launching their Q series TV sets.

To be fair, they have launched their 86-inch Q Series Pro (Q86 PRO QE) TV before today. The 4K UHD TV packs Quantum IPS technology with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technology for a rather surprising price. At retail, the Prism+ TV will set you back MYR 8,999. An equivalent Quantum Dot TV from Samsung will set you back at least twice the price.

What if you need something smaller though? What about a 65-inch? Smaller? 55-inch perhaps?

PRISM+ now have a solution for you in the Q65 PRO QE, and Q55 PRO QE. They are practically the same products as the larger Q86 PRO QE that came before, but in smaller form factor’s to fit tighter spaces. They are perfect for smaller households and if you are just looking to add some flavour in your own rooms.

The QE in their naming refers to Quantum Edition, which also refers to the Quantum technology that you will get in the TVs. No, unfortunately it is not an OLED display that you are getting. Instead, you get the next best thing to OLED, IPS LCD display. You are still getting highly vivid colours while eliminating the risk of OLED burn-ins.

photo6332435752306192762

All of them are good for 4K UHD resolution at 60Hz, not 120Hz. 4K UHD 120Hz contents are reserved for the latest generation gaming consoles though, so you might not be missing out on much. At least you still get to experience 4K gaming in this case.

Still, what it lacks for in refresh rate, it makes up in image quality. The panel is rated for HDR10 with 1.07 billion colours, which also means you get excellent colour contrast. With the addition of Dolby Vision tuning, movies on the screen comes to life with even darker blacks, and brighter whites. You can even see those details in the dark in this case.

To ensure that your immersion stays true, you get Dolby Atmos tuned speakers to ensure you hear every little thing in all the right directions. Of course, if you can pair it to Dolby Atmos speakers, you get even better surround effects. You can plug your external speakers, soundbars, or sound system via Bluetooth 5.0, optical cable, or HDMI ARC connection.

It runs Android TV OS 10,0 too, the latest and greatest from Google currently. With Android TV 10.0, Google Chromecast is also built-in, allowing you to stream your smartphone contents to your TV whenever you want or need. Of course, with Android TV 10.0, you get Google Assistant built in as well. Instead of speaking into your remote though, the Prism+ Q Series PRO TVs come with far-field microphones so that you can command the TV to do whatever you need to it do from the comforts of your couch just via a “Hey Google”, or “Okay Google” command.

The PRISM+ Q55 PRO QE and Q65 PRO QE is now available on PRISM+ online store and all their online retail partners. Every purchase of the Q Series PRO TV will entitle you to exclusive free gifts, while stocks last. The 55-inch Q55 PRO QE will set you back MYR 2,399, while the 65-inch Q65 PRO QE retails at MYR 3,299. For more information on the Prism+ Q Series PRO TVs you can head over to their website.

Neotez AQUILA Gaming Monitors Now Available in Malaysia

Blink and you’ll miss it. That’s how it feels right now with the mushrooming amount of gaming monitor brands appearing. There’s a new challenger in Malaysia too – Neotez. Neotez is a company just spreading its wings; founded in 2021 in Australia, it’s looking to bring a new wave of affordable, premium gaming experiences to the masses. No, you didn’t read that wrong. “Affordable” and “premium” are in the same sentence side by side.

The company is bringing their first wave of offerings to Malaysia after a successful year in Australia. Neotez is bringing their nascent AQUILA brand which has three monitors which cater to three different niches. The AQUILA 24, 27 and 34 offer different resolutions and sizes that cater to different budgets and gaming needs.

The Neotez AQUILA lineup offers high resolution, IPS displays with 165Hz refresh rates with quick response times. AQUILA monitors also offer anti-glare, low blue light panels with HDR400 and Adaptive-Sync support. There are slight differences across the lineup but they generally offer more bang for your buck across the board.

The AQUILA 24 and 27 both offer flat IPS displays with 165Hz and a 16:9 aspect ratio. They both cover 100% of the sRGB gamut. However, the AQUILA 24 only covers 78% of the DCI-P3 gamut while the 27 covers 90%. So, not the best for colour sensitive work, but they still offer commendable specs for their price points. Additionally, the 24 only offers FHD resolution while the 27 offers higher, QHD resolution. The AQUILA 27 offers additional HDR400 support and RGB Lighting. Both come with two HDMI 2.0 ports and a single DisplayPort 1.4 port.

The larger AQUILA 34 offers 2K resolution and is the only curved display in Neotez arsenal. It’s also an ultra-wide monitor with a 1500R curve. That said, the higher resolution brings along a lower 144Hz refresh rate. It’s also got a higher 4000:1 contrast ratio compared to the 1000:1 of the 24 and 27. The 34 has HDR400 support but covers only 93% of the DCI-P3 gamut and 99% sRGB gamut. The Neotez AQUILA 34 comes with two HDMI 2.0 ports and two DisplayPort 1.4 ports and red LED backlighting.

All the monitors come with built-in speakers. The AQUILA 24 and 27 come with dual 3W speakers while the 27 come with dual 2W speakers. You also get a single audio port on all the monitors.

Pricing & Availability

The monitors are currently available from the official Neotez stores on Shopee and LAZADA. The Neotez AQUILA 24 will be priced at MYR899 while the AQUILA 27 will cost MYR1,549. The larger, ultrawide AQUILA 34 is priced at MYR2,099.

Neotez is having a special launch promotion where the monitors will be available at a discounted price for a limited time. During the promo, you’ll be able to get the Neotez AQUILA 24 for MYR899, the AQUILA 27 for MYR1,399 and the AQUILA 34 for MYR1,899.

Dell Gears Up for Creators with new XPS Desktop & S series Monitors

Hot off their international launch of a new line up of XPS laptops and their Malaysian launch of the Precision and Latitude lines, Dell is adding a new member to the XPS family: the XPS Desktop. The new XPS desktop draws inspiration from the minimalistic designs of its laptop brethren. Keeping it simple, elegant and performance driven. In fact, it’s even slimmed down to keep a sleeker profile. The once 24L body of the XPS Desktop is now only 19L and it doesn’t sacrifice much when it comes to space for internals.

The new XPS Desktop isn’t just elegant, it packs the power when it comes to specifications. It comes supped up with 10th generation Intel Core i processors ranging from the Core i3 to the creator focused Core i9. This is paired with a up to 128GB of RAM and complemented with up to 4TB of storage in various hardware configurations.

Built for Content

Keeping it’s eye on creators and hardware intensive processes, the XPS Desktop will be coming with a slew of options for it’s graphics card ranging from the NVIDIA GT 1030 to the NVIDIA RTX 2070 SUPER and even AMD graphics processors ranging from the AMD Radeon RX 5300 to the powerful Radeon RX 5700 XT. It also has options for a DVD-RW or Blu-ray burner in the optical drive department.

Of course, being a performance focused desktop, the XPS comes with a bevvy of ports on the back. On the front, it comes with 3 USB 3.1 ports, 1 USB Type C, a 3.5mm jack and a SD card slot. It also comes with support for Killer AX1650i WiFi 6 connectivity. Complementing the power packed internals are options for 150W or 500W power supply.

The Dell XPS desktop take a page out of its laptop brethren with voltage regulator cooling to more efficiently cool the processors. In fact, the engineers at Dell have designed the chassis to maximise airflow and cooling when it comes to the hard disks and processors. Accessing the internals shouldn’t be a problem with the toolless system that it adopts.

A Perfect Match with the New Dell S-series Monitors

Together with the new power packed XPS Desktop, Dell also announced three new S Series monitors. The new additions to the affordable S-series monitors bring even more options and larger sizes to the popular series of monitors.

The new additions to the S series monitors come in two different sizes: 27-inch and a larger 32-inches. The 27-inch monitor comes in Full HD and 4K Ultra HD resolutions. These monitors have 99% coverage of the sRGB gamut and are equipped with AMD FreeSync technology. The Dell 32 Curved 4K Monitor (S3221QS) comes with dual 5W speakers built-in.

Dell is bringing the Dell Premium Panel exchange program to the S series monitors during their limited hardware warranty period. The Premium Panel exchange will ensure that you get a consistent experience with the new monitors. Dell will replace defective IPS panels which result inconsistent bright spots. This program is available in the United States for now. No information if the Dell Premium Panel exchange will be coming to other regions.
