LG ARTCOOL Air Conditioner Makes Fashionable Debut in Malaysia

LG Electronics Malaysia has unveiled the LG ARTCOOL, a new air conditioner that promises to elevate home comfort in Malaysia. Building upon the legacy of the Artcool series, the LG ARTCOOL goes beyond basic cooling functionality, offering a compelling combination of advanced features, a sleek design aesthetic, and user-friendly smart capabilities.

msg306401749 69144

Aesthetics that Complement Your Space

LG Malaysia emphasizes the LG ARTCOOL’s commitment to both technological innovation and visual appeal. The air conditioner boasts powerful cooling capabilities housed within a minimalist design. This ensures optimal comfort in your home without sacrificing aesthetics.

The unit comes in two finish options: a polished mirror finish that exudes modern elegance and a green option that provides a touch of nature-inspired style. This allows for seamless integration into a variety of design schemes, whether you prefer a contemporary or a more natural ambience in your living space.

Focus on Clean Air and Energy Efficiency

Beyond aesthetics, the LG ARTCOOL prioritizes creating a healthy and comfortable environment for users. The air conditioner is equipped with Plasmaster™ Ionizer++ technology. This innovative feature claims to effectively filter dust particles and eliminate 99.9% of bacteria, promoting cleaner and healthier air quality within your home. This is particularly beneficial for allergy sufferers or those who prioritize a clean and breathable atmosphere.

msg306401749 69146

Furthermore, the LG ARTCOOL prioritizes energy efficiency. The Dual Inverter Compressor is claimed to deliver exceptional energy efficiency. This translates to potentially reduced electricity consumption without compromising on cooling power. This focus on energy efficiency can lead to cost savings on electricity bills in the long run and also aligns with growing concerns about environmental sustainability.

The LG ARTCOOL integrates with the LG ThinQ app. This allows users to remotely monitor and adjust air conditioning settings. Imagine the ease of pre-cooling your home before you arrive or adjusting the temperature while relaxing on the couch. The LG ThinQ app adds a layer of convenience and flexibility to your daily routine, allowing you to manage your home comfort from anywhere.

Pricing & Availability

The LG ARTCOOL is currently available nationwide. There will be four variants ranging from 1HP to 2.5HP. The two colourways mentioned earlier, polished mirror and green, will be available for all capacity options. The prices are as below:

LG Rent-Up Makes Upgrading Your Home Appliances A Less Daunting Affair

You know how we tend to plan to change our home appliances and tech to better suit our needs and changing style? …and you know how we always say we can do that later when we see the price tags? Well, LG is looking to change that by making home tech and appliances less of a hassle and less of a strain on the bank account.

LG Rent Up 2

The company is introducing a first-of-its-kind home tech and appliance rental service. Of course, the way things are structured may seem very familiar, but the new Rent-Up program is catered to some of LG’s cutting-edge appliances like the LG Styler, the PuriCare Objet Water Purifier, the LG PuriCare Air Purifier and even the LG Cord Zero handheld vacuum. These items can be leased from as low as RM40 a month. The leasing period goes up to 7 years after which the appliance belongs to you.

The new Rent-Up program covers nearly all of LG’s product lines from its webOS-based smart TVs to its refrigerators and vacuums. What’s more the products being offered through the program are all compatible with LG’s ThinQ app. This means that you’ll be able to set that load of wash to complete as you leave the office or even find out what groceries are needed from your smartphone. The best part may be the fact that you can set the Styler to prepare your outfit while you take a shower so your outfit will be crisp when you put it on.

LG Rent Up 1

The new Rent-Up program allows you to live a connected life with LG’s lineup of AIoT-enabled appliances. The program is already available in Malaysia through LG Malaysia’s Rent-Up webpage. There is a limited selection of appliances and tech on the webpage now but it looks like LG will be updating its offerings soon.

LG’s MyView Smart Monitors Bring webOS to Monitors

Monitors aren’t just empty displays anymore. They’re becoming miniature Smart TVs that are optimised for work. LG is just the latest one to bring brains to its monitors with the new LG MyView smart monitors. The new MyView smart monitors come equipped with webOS 23 which allows it to bring all the software you need for basic productivity.

The new lineup of LG MyView smart monitors consists of three models: the 32SR85U, the 32SR83U and the 32SR70U. All three come with a 31.5-inch screen size and 4K UHD resolution. They are also equipped with IPS panels that support HDR 10. That said, they only sport a 60Hz refresh rate and a 5ms response time – not ideal for gaming. However, more than enough for day-to-day tasks and remote work.

The monitors adopt a similar design aesthetic to the LG TV lineup with virtually borderless displays and a slim form factor. There are two distinct designs for the MyView smart monitors. The 32SR85U and the 32SR83U come with a height-adjustable stand with a circular cutout. The 32SR70, on the other hand, comes with a low-profile base making it more compact.

The webOS-based software allows you to leverage Bluetooth and USB 2.0 to connect a keyboard and mouse. This will help with remote work as you will be able to use applications like Microsoft 365 (office) and the Google Productivity suite remotely or on the browser natively – no computer needed. The 32SR85U can even be paired with an optional detachable webcam which has Full HD resolution for video conferencing.

The MyView smart monitors also come equipped with a remote control. Of course, since they run webOS 23, you’ll also be able to use them as smart TVs to watch your favourite shows on apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+.

Pricing & Availability

LG hasn’t announced any pricing or availability details just yet. However, the MyView smart monitors will be on display at CES 2024.

LG’s 2024 QNED & QNED Mini LED TVs Come with Chromecast Built-in

LG‘s TV line up just got a little bit interesting for 2024 with Chromecast functionality finally coming built-in to the new systems. Ahead of CES 2024, LG has taken the opportunity to announce a refresh to its QNED and QNED Mini LED TVs. Notably missing in its refresh announcement is the company’s OLED TVs which we’re certain will take center stage at CES 2024.

LG QNED 01
Source: LG

The new LG QNED and QNED Mini LED TVs will be coming with one of three different processors: the α9 AI Processor, the α8 AI Processor and the α5 AI Processor. Higher end lines like the QNED99T models will be equipped with the α9 AI Processor. While mid-range lines like the QNED90T and QNED85T will feature an upgraded α8 AI Processor. The processor brings an impressive 30% improvement in AI performance over the previous and a 230% increase in graphical performance. The chip is the brains behind the upscaling and AI capabilities we’re used to seeing in LG’s smart TVs. The lower end models in the QNED80T lineup will be running on LG’s lower-end α5 AI Processor.

A Supersized 2024 LG QNED & QNED Mini LED Lineup

The 2024 QNED and QNED Mini LED TVs are supersized. Capping out at 98-inches with the LG QNED85T line. That said, all the new QNED and Mini LED TVs will be available in 43-,50-,55-,65-,75- and 86-inch sizes. These TVs come with LCD display technology and Quantum Dot and Nanocell technology depending on their product lines. The higher models in the line up will come with QNED (Quantum Dot and Nanocell) panels for the display while mid- and lower-end models will come with LCD panels.

Together with the hardware, the LG TV line up will be coming with a lot of the features we’ve come to expect from LG’s TVs. This includes AI upscaling, AI Picture Pro and AI Sound Pro. AI Sound Pro, which was introduced back in 2021, brings 9.1.2 surround sound to the native without a soundbar. More notably, LG is bringing Chromecast technology to the 2024 lineup of TVs. This feature was noticeably absent for year as LG has already enabled AirPlay 2.

The new line up will come with webOS 24 out of the box. LG is providing 5 years of software updates for its TVs moving forward as part of its webOS Re:new program. This will also apply to retroactively to LG’s 2022 line up of QNED 8K TVs. More details on which models will be provided at a later date.

Pricing & Availability

LG hasn’t announced any pricing or availability information at the time of writing. However, the TVs are being displayed in Las Vegas as part of CES 2024.

The LG CineBeam Qube 4K is a projector after our own hearts. It’s a stylish projector designed to not only project high-quality video but also blend into any decor. The compact projector comes in at only 1.49kg weight and measures only 80mm x 135mm x 135mm. It’s most literally a cube. Let’s not forget about the 360° handle. LG intends the Qube to be a “stylish art objet” with a minimalist design aesthetic.

The projector is able to project in 4K UHD with a resolution of 3,840×2,160 pixels. The Qube also supports Auto Screen Adjustment and HDR 10. It has HDMI with eARC connectivity and USB-C. If you want to go wireless, you should be able to screen share on Android or AirPlay on Apple devices.

LG Celebrates 10 Consecutive Years of Being on Top with Latest OLED TVs

When you think about getting an OLED TV, there are going to be a few names you start thinking about. Since they are so popular, one of those names is inevitably LG. To be fair, they have been on top of the OLED TV market for about 10 years now, as per their claims. Why not Samsung? Samsung has moved away from the OLED technology and introduced their own cutting edge QLED technology. The thing is, OLED TVs are still some of the best-selling TVs in the market for a good reason – they still offer some of the best colour contrast and saturation you can find today.

There is plenty to like about LG’s OLED TVs too. They have a clever remote that acts sort of like a ‘magic wand’. You just point to the things or contents you want via the remote, and then select the content via the button on your remote. Like other smart TV remotes, the LG TV remote also can work with voice command. There is the webOS User Interface (UI) too, which is still one of the best UI available for smart TVs today, in our opinion. It is, in our opinion, a little more polished than even Samsung’s TizenOS for TVs, and much better to work with compared to Google TV or Android TV interfaces. Part of the polished feel of the TV is thanks to some of the most advanced processors for TVs made in the industry found in their TVs. The processor is getting a little aged though and an update is in order.

Welcome to the latest line-up of LG OLED TVs made for modern entertainment. It comes ready with LG’s proven α9 processor, but it is upgraded to make the TVs some of the best money can buy in the market. They call it the α9 AI Processor 4K Gen6 and it is programmed with LG’s latest and improved AI algorithms for image upscaling and smoothing with AI help. It does not stop at images though, it also works well with audio to offer users not just immersive and lifelike images, but also top notch surround audio to go along with the action. The new processor also offers Brightness Booster Max technology (OLED Evo G3 series) to offer brighter, sharper, and more realistic images by controlling the brightness of individual pixels allowing 70% brighter images for realistic contrasts and background separation.

They have updated webOS too for 2023 that offers even more intuitive navigation for users. Ther is a new Quick Cards feature that allows users easy access to the contents and services they use most or most recently used. The cards are even organized and grouped under the different Gaming, Music, Sports, and other available categories to give that more sorted feel to the interface. Speaking of which, these new TVs are made with modern gaming experiences in mind. Thanks to a 0.1ms response time (on Boost), NVIDIA G-Sync, and AMD FreeSync Premium support, this is the perfect large factor gaming monitor not just for your latest gaming consoles, but also for your gaming PCs. There is support for HDMI 2.1 and VRR for the latest GPUs and even the latest consoles.

For the modern home, you want a seamless and integrated look. The thinner the TVs, the easier it is for you to integrate into your living space. That is also why the 2023 line-up of LG OLED TVs are designed to be as thin as possible with a zero-gap mount design to blend into your walls. The ultra-thin bezels give the illusion that the images are painted directly on your wall, and with the most accurate black paint available for that matter. If you prefer your TVs to be your home’s centerpieces or statement pieces, there is the new LG OLED Posé Objet Collection. For your gaming set-up, you can have the best of both flat and curved displays with the OLED Flex 4K display.

The new 2023 line-up of LG TVs is now available via LG’s authorized retailers across the nation. The new models are the LG OLED evo G3, LG OLED evo C3, and LG OLED A3. The LG OLED evo C3 will be available in sizes from 55-inch all the way to 83-inch with prices starting from MYR 10,999. Meanwhile, the budget option, the LG OLED A3 is available in 55-inch and 65-inch size variants at MYR 8,999 onward. LG Releases the Most Compact Soundbar They’ve Ever Produced, the Eclair QP5 in Malaysia for MYR 2,799.

CES 2021 saw LG release their most compact soundbar yet. They announced the Eclair QP5 soundbar to the world in July of 2021. Sadly, the soundbar has not made its way into Malaysia yet at the time of launch. In some sense, it is a two-year-old product. At the same time, it is still one of LG’s more anticipated products for Malaysia.

The LG Eclair QP5 is not the most compact soundbar there is, but it is still one of the most compact soundbar you can find in the market. Even at its rather compact construction, the LG Eclair QP5 still offers a lot of power at up to 320W. It offers 3.1.2 channel of audio to really push on the surround sound capability of the soundbar.

The soundbar that comes with a subwoofer set-up is tuned by Meridian for the best possible audio reproduction a compact soundbar can get. It is also Dolby Atmos and DTS:X certified, so you can be sure that your movie and music experience is one of the best and most accurate you can find in its range.

As mentioned before, the LG Eclair offers 4K pass-through for optimized 4K and HDR contents with Dolby Vision. LG’s AI Sound Pro also analyses the contents being displayed and automatically tunes the soundbar to optimise the sounds and contents. With eARC on the HDMI port, the LG Eclair is capable of taking on transmission of 5.1-channel or 7.1-channel audio. If you have an LG TV produced from 2021 onward, you benefit from TV Mode Share that cleverly combines the processing power of LG’s proprietary α processors and AI Sound Pro to enrich sounds from any content source. Of course, you want to tamper your expectations a little when you are going through older format videos.

  • LG Eclair 1
  • LG Eclair 3
  • LG Eclair 2

The LG Eclair QP5 compact soundbar is now available in Malaysia. You can get your hands on one or even test them out at LG’s authorized dealers and stores across the nation. Sadly, there are no colour options to speak of. You can only get your hands on the black colour option. At MYR 2,799, it is not what you want to call budget-friendly too. As soundbars go though, the compact soundbar is quite perfect for a desktop set-up or even a small condominium in Malaysia. More information on the soundbar can be found on their website.

[CES 2023] LG Introduces More gram for the Masses

LG introduced their gram a few years ago. They were introduced to the world as the world’s lightest and probably thinnest laptops you can find. The LG gram laptops are no slouches though, they were premium powerhouses that are made to be worked on from anywhere at any time.

LG announced and introduced a bunch of things in CES 2023. They announced new TVs and sound bars for 2023 with updated WebOS and hardware for better pictures and sounds. They also introduced a few new home appliances with smart home capabilities. But these are not the only things they launched in CES 2023.

Welcome to the new LG gram line-up. LG gram is currently the only laptop line-up from LG other than their UltraGear laptops launched last year. Again, LG’s gram is built for a different specific purpose.

LG gram Ultraslim

LG gram 01
Source: LG

The new LG gram Ultraslim is the new thinnest laptop from LG’s stables. At 10.99mm, the LG gram is not going to break records as the thinnest laptop in the world. It is still thinner than most laptops too. It also only weighs just below 1kg at just 998g. It is built tough too with MIL-810H standards.

That does not mean that LG skimmed on performance though. The LG gram will still be packing Intel’s latest 13th generation Core processor. Of course, there is not much in terms of space so there is no discreet GPU here. You get Intel’s Xe graphics though, a proven platform even when you need to it for content creation purposes.

The Ultraslim 15Z90RT also packs a stunning 15.6-inch OLED display with a coating that minimizes glare and reflections. You get Full HD in resolution and up to 400nits in brightness that might come in handy when you are working in a well-lit environment. You can choose to fit your LG gram Ultraslim with up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB in SSD storage. LG did not quote any battery life numbers but they did reveal that there is a 60Wh battery packed within the svelte body.

LG gram Style

LG gram 02
Source: LG

They did not just launch the thinnest LG gram just yet. They also launched a line-up of laptops that are geared for those who wants something with a unique twist. It comes in two sizes too (16-inch and 14-inch), so there is an ideal size for everyone.

The LG gram Style in both sizes will come packing 16:10 OLED displays with up to WQXGA+ resolution (3,200 x 2,000) for the best working experience you can get in a thin-and-light laptop. You also get up to 120Hz in refresh rate for the best viewing experience you can get in a modern laptop of its class.

Of course, the Windows 11 you see on the brilliant display is powered by Intel’s 13th generation Core processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics. Alongside the processor is up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM for maximum speed and optimized productivity no matter what you need the laptop to do. The 16-inch variant comes with 80Wh battery pack while the 14-inch comes with 72Wh battery that offers long-lasting battery life for remote working situations. All of these is packed into a body built at MIL-810H standards and weighs only 1,230g (999g for 14-inch).

The All-New LG gram

They also introduced 17-inch, 16-inch, 15-inch, and 14-inch laptops embracing the regular gram branding. These ones comes with discrete GPUS (17-inch and 16-inch). You can opt for an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 entry level laptop GPU which should allow you to enjoy most esports titles today. Of course, you also get Intel’s 13th generation Core processors.

The displays are not OLED panels, but they will still offer top-notch colour and image experience with IPS panels projecting up to WQXGA resolutions at 16:10 aspect ratio. The IPS panel also offers variable refresh rate at up to 144Hz to extend battery life and to optimize viewing experience for users. For entertainment purposes, the speakers are Dolby Atmos certified for some immersive experience for your movies and music. You also get to enjoy your movies and music for up to 20 hours at a time with up to 90Wh on tap on your laptop.

Availability

LG did not mention when the LG gram line-ups will be available just yet. There are no mentions on its price as well currently. We are guessing that the new LG gram laptops will be available sometime between next month and July 2023. All LG’s latest gram line-up comes with Full HD webcam with IR blaster for Window Hello facial recognition function. The LG gram 2-in-1 line-up will also come with updated internals for 2023.
