Razer Introduces the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed with THX Certification

Razer’s Hammerhead series of headphones has been one of the go-to wireless earphones when it comes to mobile gaming. To be fair, while there are better sounding earphones out there, the Razer brand has made themselves known to be some of the best gaming brands in the world. It also does not hurt when the Razer Hammerhead line-up is some of the more decent sounding earphones on the market. There is room for improvement though and Razer delivers that in the Razer Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed they just introduced.

As the name suggests, it is made with their HyperSpeed technology that ensures an almost wired connection-like latencies. Again, the disadvantage to that is that the HyperSpeed technology relies on a proprietary 2.4GHz dongle that you need to connect to your devices like the PC, or smartphone. It is a USB Type-C dongle though, so you technically can use it with the likes of the Nintendo Switch. They claim a latency of less than 40ms with the HyperSpeed technology on this Hammerhead Pro.

While HyperSpeed technology is impressive, you are probably going to be using this pair of wireless earbuds with a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. For that, it has Bluetooth 5.3, the latest standard in Bluetooth technology. That also allows the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed to offer an impressive 60ms latency when connected via Bluetooth, just 20ms shy of HyperSpeed. If you are gaming mostly on your smartphone, you can start thinking about losing the cable with this one.

On top of the HyperSpeed dongle and Bluetooth 5.3 capabilities, the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed is also capable of wireless charging. The fast-charging case that offers an additional 24 hours of listening time to the earbuds can be charged wirelessly with any wireless charging base you can find in the market. Or charge your device via USB Type-C, there is nothing ever wrong with wired charging in the first place.

It is a ‘Pro’ level item from Razer, so you can safely expect hybrid active noise cancelling to be a thing here. The Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed offers an array of microphones that act as noise cancelling feedback microphones for better sound cancelling and isolation. You can even adjust how much noise cancelling you want via a proprietary app. To keep you isolated and undisturbed while gaming, the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed even offers a clever Do Not Disturb mode that silences all incoming Bluetooth notifications. The mode can also prevent calls and texts from coming through though, so you might want to have an apology message to go when your significant other cannot reach you.

Of course, the main thing about a wireless earphone should be its sound quality. The Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed is a THX certified gear. While it may not mean too much, since Razer technically owns THX and can slap THX branding on any of their products; the THX brand is still one of the most recognizable one in the audio industry, which also should mean that the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed should sound great, and at least decent if not excellent. At the same time, the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed cannot be a Razer product without Razer Chroma RGB and that is what these pair of earbuds have to offer. You can even control the RGB lighting with Razer’s app.

Price and Availability

The Razer Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed is now available from Razer.com and all Razer’s authorised retailers across Malaysia, including their official online stores. There are no colour options for this one, just the black that is known for Razer’s most premium gears. It will set you back MYR 999, which is about MYR 100 less than Sony’s most premium wireless earbuds currently. More information on the new wireless earbuds can be found on their website.

[RazerCon 2022] The Razer Hammerhead HyperSpeed is the Only TWS Earbuds You Want for Gaming

All truly wireless (TWS) earbuds in the market today have a common problem. Most, if not all, are not made for gaming in mind. Razer is a little different though. Everything they do and have done so far has all about the gaming lifestyle. Even when their introduced their highly portable Razer Hammerhead BT, they still maintained that it is a wireless earphone made for gaming. Of course, when the world of TWS earbuds blow up, they had to jump on board, and make their own, also for gaming. Now there is a new one.

They call it the Razer Hammerhead Hyperspeed, and it looks rather familiar. To be fair, the general design of a TWS today has pretty much saturated into ones with stems and ones without. This one comes with a stem a la Apple AirPods. In fact, it shares a lot of design cues from the Cupertino outfit. Even the case, in its PlayStation colours guise, looks strikingly similar to the Apple AirPods Pro’s case save for the officially licensed PlayStation Logo. The Xbox variant is basically just a blacked-out variant of the Razer Hammerhead Hyperspeed.

The similarities end there though. The ear tips are designed differently, shaped differently. That might not matter all that much, but it is designed in such a way to also fit Razer’s very famous Chroma RGB LED at the back of the earbuds lighting up the three-headed snake logo synonymous to the gaming lifestyle maker.

The Hyperspeed technology is Razer’s innovation to wireless technology to reduce latency and therefore response times in wireless situations. In the Razer Hammerhead Hyperspeed, it comes with a 2.4GHz wireless connection option via a USB Type-C dongle. Via the dongle, connected to either your PC or gaming console, you are getting lowest in class latency for your audio, very comparable to the experience of a wired headphone. The lower latency also allows you to react to conditions and situations closer to real time, increasing your competitiveness. For your mobile gaming purposes, it packs the latest Bluetooth 5.2 for improved stability, higher fidelity, and lower latency.

To keep you focused and competitive in your game, you want as little distraction as possible in your gaming sessions. For that, you want noise cancellation. The Razer Hammerhead Hyperspeed packs not just one microphone for noise cancelling, it comes with two. Why is this significant? A single mic picks up only so much noise and pumps anti-noise according to that limited information. Two mics allow the device to pick up more details from its environment and compensates those noise more accurately and accordingly to allow for better noise cancelling all-around.

This is made for the gamers who are constantly on-the-go. Its 10mm driver should be powerful enough for you to also enjoy music at any given time in the outside world. To keep you entertained even on a long flight, the Razer Hammerhead Hyperspeed packs up to 30 hours of battery life, provided you turn off Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and the RGB. Leave both on and you still get up to 20 hours of battery life.

The Xbox Licensed variant, on the other hand, comes in black and lime green colour scheme to match the Xbox Series X colour scheme. Both devices come with a colour matching USB Type-C dongle you can plug into your PC or console. Razer Unleashes the DeathAdder V3 Pro – The Best Got Better

Razer started out their life by making a particular mouse. The purpose of the mouse they made was also rather specific. It is made with performance in mind, it is made for gamers. It is made so that users of the mouse in question gets competitive advantage in games, be it multiplayer or single player games.

At that time, the term eSports did not exist. The PC gaming industry was at its infancy and there were plenty of games that could be competitive games, but most games were focused on individual players. The term multiplayer only existed a little later with LAN capable games like Counter Strike. The Counter Strike franchise at this point is one of the most popular gaming titles available and is one of the biggest competitive gaming titles.

Gaming peripherals grew with the rise of competitive gaming. Razer, one of the pioneers of gaming specific gears, thrived with that. Of course, their product list also grew. As technology improves too, so did their products. Today, there is a new kid on the block, and it could be their more spectacular gaming mouse to date.

They introduced their DeathAdder V3 Pro, a wireless gaming mouse that is made specifically for competitive gaming. In other words, the DeathAdder V3 Pro is made specifically for eSports.

It is lighter now, more than ever. The DeathAdder V3 Pro only weighs in at 63 grams (64g if you go for white colorway). It is ergonomically shaped to fit the contour of your right palm in the most natural way for more comfortable extended use cases. They have improved ergonomics here as well; everything has been raised a little to ensure that the wrist is more elevated and in a better position. The buttons, scroll wheels, and palm support is slightly moved and raised to ensure that everything is easily reachable. The grooves on the sides allow for better grip and tactility.

All of these are done and designed with inputs from top eSports athletes Razer has access to. The contours and grooves are basically the result of plentty of development work with eSports athletes. The reduction in weight is also a direct result of that collaboration, obviously.

While it is 25% lighter than before, it curiously boasts an extended battery life too. The built-in battery boasts up to 90 hours of use time. It is rechargeable via USB Type-C too, Razer also includes a Speedflex braided charging cable with the DeathAdder V3 Pro.

The DeathAdder V3 Pro packs Razer’s Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor with up to 99.8% resolution accuracy for unrivaled speed and accuracy, even via wireless connection. The new sensor also packs AI Smart Tracking, Motion Sync, and Asymmetric Cut-Off for even better competitive experience in heated situations. The Optical Mouse Switches Gen-3 offers a zero double-clicking and no debounce relay to ensure that every click is registered as that, clicks, at the highest speeds for up to 90 million clicks.

Razer’s DeathAdder V3 Pro features low-latency response times too thanks to Razer’s HyperSpped Wireless technology. Thanks to the new Razer HyperPolling Wireless Technology, the DeathAdder V3 Pro supports a polling rate of 1000Hz at 1ms intervals for responsiveness and smoothness comparable to wired mice. If that is not fast enough, you can get Razer’s HyperPolling Wireless Dongle for up to 4000Hz wireless polling rate.
