Huntkey Will Continue Its Low-Carbon Strategy into the Next Decade

SHENZHEN, China, March 26, 2022 China aims to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. As a Chinese enterprise with 27 years of experience in the power supply industry, Huntkey has insisted on developing low-carbon manufacturing and products for more than 10 years. Huntkey not only makes its efforts to protect the environment during the Earth Hour period, but low carbon will also be the long-term goal of Huntkey in the next few decades.

“From 2008 to the present, Huntkey initiated and participated in the formulation and promulgation of 28 categories of Chinese and industry-level standards,” said Maoqi Liu, CEO, Huntkey Group. “The formulation and implementation of these standards not only provide a strong guarantee for the quality of our products, but also contribute to the globalization of Chinese products.”

From the aspect of standard formulation, when Huntkey participates in the drafting and formulation of each standard, it will take the opportunity to put forward low-carbon concepts and corresponding indicators for the reference of the certification centers and technical committees. At the same time, Huntkey actively advocates low-carbon environmental protection elements in its products, in order to enable users at all levels to use reliable, energy-saving and environmentally friendly products, creating more value for users and society.

On the product side, the distinctive energy saving and environmental protection of Huntkey products will be reflected from the aspects of design, manufacturing, selection of environmentally friendly materials, scrap disposal, and safe recycling, and the packaging of each product will emphasize “a dual-carbon economy” and “low-carbon technology”, aiming for fully demonstrating Huntkey’s environmental protection scientific and technological achievements, so that every user can realize their contribution to the environment in the process of using energy-saving products.

For internal employees and external users, Huntkey actively promotes a low-carbon culture. It has promoted low-carbon knowledge on the company’s internal website every week through the corporate culture department. The human resources department also announced an incentive mechanism to reward employees who practice a low carbon lifestyle. Huntkey distributes low-carbon news and knowledge on the media, plans activities and interacts with end-users, and encourages users to participate in low-carbon activities together. For example, Huntkey initiated Earth Hour interactions on Weibo and WeChat. People can leave a message to share what they did during the 1 hour when the lights were turned off. Huntkey will filter out some interesting answers and give participants Huntkey’s fast chargers and surge protectors. Users have the opportunity to experience products that charge faster and consume less power. The power strip with fast charging function and anti-surge protection not only saves the user’s time but also ensures the safety.

In summary, whether it is the “develop low-carbon technology and live an environmentally friendly life” initiated 11 years ago or the “Double-Carbon Practice Declaration” (double-carbon refers to carbon peak and carbon neutrality) advocated now, Huntkey has only one purpose, that is, through its own products, words and deeds, to inspire the goodwill of consumers and help the society contribute to social and environmental progress and sustainable development, and become a respected enterprise.

ViewSonic’s myViewBoard Sens Brings UK’s First AI-powered Classroom to Smestow Academy

Creating An Optimal Learning Environment with Better Wellness and Safety

BREA, Calif., March 22, 2022ViewSonic Corp., a leading global provider of visual solutions, has partnered with the Smestow Academy in Wolverhampton, England, as the first school in the UK to deploy the AI-powered myViewBoard Sens analysis tool in the classroom. Through the real-time insights generated by the intelligent sensor, the school can ensure the classroom follows the wellness compliance, increase students’ engagement, and facilitate a safe and active learning environment for the best possible learning outcome.

ViewSonic's myViewBoard Sens brings UK's first AI-powered classroom to Smestow Academy, facilitating a safe and active learning environment for the best possible learning outcome.
ViewSonic’s myViewBoard Sens brings UK’s first AI-powered classroom to Smestow Academy, facilitating a safe and active learning environment for the best possible learning outcome.

"In the last few years, we had looked for a total Edtech solution to improve the overall learning experience of our students. In 2021, we started working with ViewSonic to implement over 100 ViewBoard interactive displays in our classrooms. Harnessing the power of myViewBoard Sens is our latest step in this journey," said Jonathan Stokes, Assistant Headteacher, Smestow Academy. "myViewBoard Sens offers students and teachers reassurance of a safe and engaging learning environment so we can deliver the best education possible. It is an exciting piece of EdTech innovation that we are proud to be trialing and rolling out in our classrooms."

"ViewSonic is passionate about providing comprehensive educational technology solutions for schools to drive better learning outcomes and attainments," said Peter Claxton, Senior Director of EdTech Solutions, ViewSonic. "We are incredibly pleased to be working with Smestow Academy to implement myViewBoard Sens in a real-world setting, helping the schools to adapt to the new era, and creating a highly engaged and safe learning environment. Through this pioneering project, we plan to introduce this next-gen technology to more schools around the world, opening up new learning opportunities for students, teachers, and schools."

In this project, myViewBoard Sens was installed on the ViewBoard, which sits at the front of a classroom, to analyze the wellness compliance of the indoor space. The school and teachers can get an instant view of the status through a dashboard app. The embedded sensor detects and evaluates the airborne transmission risk according to five indicators – temperature, humidity, occupancy rate, audience masked, and close contacts between students. If the rating of wellness compliance decreases, it means the wellness level is at risk and the myViewBoard Sens would suggest actionable insights on the dashboard in real-time for the school and teachers to take action. This makes sure the social distancing in the classroom follows the government’s protocol, reducing the risk of virus growth.

From the dashboard, the teachers can also get insights into student engagement at a group level to foster an active learning environment. From sensing the room’s temperature, color temperature, ambient lighting, to analyzing students’ attentiveness through articulated human pose estimation, the insights indicate the factors that may affect students’ focus. Teachers can look back and see how students responded to the class and make changes to their lesson plans or teaching approaches if necessary. Moreover, all data are generated and processed within the sensor locally without using individual profiles and without relying on the cloud, ensuring the highest levels of security and anonymity.

As a future-proof education solution, myViewBoard Sens helps the school evolve with the changing world and helps educators achieve the best educational outcomes in an optimal learning space. Moving forward, ViewSonic will continue to work with Smestow Academy to gather more feedback on the use of technology and explore more possibilities to provide greater benefits in education.

Prototype enables new synergy – how Artosyn helps their customers succeed

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 10, 2022 — Artosyn Microelectronics, a leading provider of AI SoCs for drones and other sophisticated applications finds itself at the intersection of hardware architecture and software development. "Our customers are advancing the state of AI programming every day," said Shen Sha, Senior R&D Manager of Artosyn’s AI Chip Department. "They need early access to the hardware to develop their software. It’s imperative."

Since 2015, Artosyn has specialized in Image Signal Processors (ISPs) and Neural Processing Units (NPUs), highly advanced ASIC devices that must meet the demanding requirements of low-power and high-performance. These systems represent the most advanced generation of controllers today, employing artificial intelligence for such tasks as object detection, object classification, and object tracking. Artosyn’s chips are at the heart of the latest generation of UAVs (drones), as well as being used in smart surveillance systems, robots, autonomous vehicles, and more.

These are designs of enormous size and complexity, and verifying their correct operation presents its own challenges. "We’ve used many of S2C’s FPGA development systems including their single and dual Prodigy VU440 and UV19P systems," explains Sha. "We were able to successfully complete the validation of several complex chips in the hundred-million gate range quickly and efficiently."

But validating hardware still leaves millions of lines of code to test and verify. As a company dedicated to the customer experience, Artosyn looks for creative ways to help: "In some cases we’ve used the large capacity FPGA-based systems from S2C to directly built a prototype for the customer’s evaluation," said Sha. "This really accelerates their software development process."

Sharing the power of S2C’s Prodigy VU440 enabled both companies to leverage a unique form of cooperation – Artosyn was able to swiftly validate their 100-million gate design, and their customer gained access to the hardware critical to furthering their development schedule. Moreover, Artosyn benefits from additional insight by working so closely with their customer; knowledge that helps drive improvements in their own designs. It’s a win for both firms.

S2C specializes in providing leading-edge prototyping platforms for a broad range of design sizes and applications. Built around the world’s largest and fastest FPGAs – such as the Xilinx UltraScale+ VU19P, and the Intel Stratix 10 – S2C’s Prodigy series can scale up to accommodate the largest designs in the hyperscale class. vivo’s dedication to providing a premium user experience has also translated into a significant expansion of its overseas digital ecosystem, reaching over 120 million monthly Appstore activations, 10.7 billion app downloads, and over 100 million vivo browser users.

In addition, vivo has implemented a strategic development plan to manage long-term and mutually beneficial collaboration with international partners. In 2021, vivo realized its strategic partnership with German optics company ZEISS, bringing breakthrough mobile imaging technology to vivo’s flagship smartphones. The strategic collaboration between vivo and ZEISS exemplifies the value of vivo’s strong partnership growth.

Reaching New Milestones in Pushing the Boundaries of Smartphone Innovation

vivo and ZEISS have further advanced the cutting-edge of professional mobile photography throughout 2021 with a single goal in mind – to put photography capabilities, once only accessible to professional photographers, into the hands of regular smartphone users.

Through its partnership with ZEISS, vivo strengthened its efforts in redefining mobile photography by providing users with professional-grade camera technology via the X Series. The first imaging system co-engineered by vivo and ZEISS, debuted on the vivo X60 Series in early 2021. The X60 series integrated vivo’s user-oriented innovation with ZEISS’s outstanding expertise in mobile imaging to deliver on the brand promise of outstanding software and hardware capabilities.

Its successor, the X70 series, launched globally in September, featuring vivo’s V1 imaging chip, which serves to optimize processing power. The X70 series also marked the next chapter in vivo’s global imaging partnership with ZEISS, dedicated to creating the ultimate mobile photography experience. The entire vivo X70 lineup has achieved certified compliance for ZEISS’ T* Coating, which reduces stray light and ghosting effects to capture true colors in all lighting conditions, significantly enhancing low-light photography capabilities. In addition, vivo’s superb Night Mode captures detailed night scenes with a dynamic range, while its top-notch hardware, complemented by vivo’s AI algorithms and software, ensures optimal performance at night.

In 2021, vivo also further raised the bar for smartphone selfie cameras with the vivo V Series. The V21 lineup set a new standard for smartphone selfie cameras with its unique Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) front camera. At the end of the year, vivo teased the launch of the V23 Series, setting new standards in combining advanced camera technology and premium design with its dual front camera and sleek color-changing design. The vivo V Series provides consumers with an ultra-thin and stylish selection of devices equipped with best-in-class tools, including 5G tech and smart home features, at a competitive price.

vivo’s independent sub-brand iQOO continued to expand its global user segments with a new performance flagship. The iQOO 7 series infused cutting-edge hardware with astounding software capabilities, creating the ultimate mobile gaming and multi-media entertainment experiences. In 2021, the iQOO 7 Legend was awarded the prestigious Red Dot Product Design Award for its unique aesthetic that exudes powerful performance and speed, recognizing the company’s user-centric design philosophy.

Beyond releasing breakthrough products, vivo has contributed greatly to 5G development in overseas markets. This year vivo conducted its first 5G SA commercial network testing outside of China in partnership with AIS, a leading regional mobile communications provider. The collaboration will accelerate commercial 5G SA network deployment in Thailand and bring enhanced high-speed 5G experiences to local mobile users. vivo has been dedicated to investing in 5G connectivity to reach the stage of product realization and getting this technology into the hands of consumers. It goes without saying that 5G can facilitate limitless applications, on both industrial and consumer levels.
