2,000 COOCAA × Clip TV Smart TVs Sold in Under 12 Hours

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam, Sept. 5, 2020 — COOCAA recently announced a strategic cooperation with Clip TV and hosted an official product launch for their first co-branded product on September 3. Following an unforgettable performance by Vietnamese rap star JustaTee, at 00:00 on September 4, 2,000 units of the co-branded smart TV were made available for purchase on Lazada. MediaTek Advances its 5G Platform with New T750 5G Chipset for Fixed Wireless Access Routers and Mobile Hotspot CPE Devices

Highly integrated, low-power T750 5G chipset delivers 5G broadband experience for 5G NR sub-6GHz frequencies

HSINCHU, Taiwan, Sept. 3, 2020 MediaTek today announced its T750 5G chipset to power next generation 5G CPE wireless products, like fixed wireless access routers (FWA) and mobile hotspots, to bring fast 5G connectivity into homes, businesses and anyone on the go.

The highly integrated, 7nm compact chip design comes with an integrated 5G radio and quad-core Arm CPU. It’s full-featured with all the essential functions and peripherals for device makers to build high performance consumer premise equipment products in the smallest form factors possible. The T750 is sampling now with potential customers.

"Pervasive high-speed broadband connectivity is becoming more important with the increase in connected devices and the surge of people working from home, taking online classes and using services like tele-health and video calling," said JC Hsu, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of MediaTek’s wireless communications business unit. 5G routers with support for sub-6GHz frequencies bring a more affordable broadband alternative to areas with limited DSL, cable or fiber services. Having access to super-fast connectivity will also be a game-changer for suburban, rural and less developed areas that struggle with access to current wireless services and signals.

Analyst firm IDC expects the global 5G and LTE router and gateway market to grow from approximately $979 million in 2019 to just under $3 billion in 2024. Counterpoint Research also projects 5G fixed wireless access growing from 10.3M subscribers in 2020 to over 450M subscribers by 2030.  

The MediaTek T750 chipset supports 5G sub-6GHz frequencies and two component carrier aggregation (2CC CA) for extended coverage, making it ideal for indoor and outdoor fixed wireless access products, like home routers, as well as mobile hotspots. For consumers, the T750 offers a compact 5G device that they can self-install and avoid the hassles of lengthy installation times for fixed line broadband. For operators, the T750 will provide 5G speeds right out the box to rival fixed line services without incurring costs for laying down cables or fiber. UL Advances Ability for Electronic Product and Equipment Manufacturers to Quickly Enter Mexico Market


Mexico Ministry of Economy grants UL first mutual recognition agreement to allow electronics product testing outside of Mexico

NORTHBROOK, Illinois, Aug. 29, 2020 — UL, a leading global safety science company, today announced that Mexico’s Ministry of Economy, General Directorate of Standards (DGN), has granted UL the right to conduct safety and energy efficiency testing globally for electronic products and equipment imported into that country. These include safety tests for audio, video and information technology products and equipment and uninterruptible power systems (UPS) as well as energy efficiency tests for washing machines, household and commercial refrigerators and freezers, motors, lighting, external power supplies and products and equipment requiring stand-by power.

With the ability now to perform safety and energy efficiency tests at UL or UL-approved laboratories outside of Mexico, according to official Mexico standards, Norma Oficial Mexicana and Oficial Mexico Standard (NOM) and Mexican Standard (NMX), UL can help reduce time and cost to market for product access to the Mexican marketplace.

The safety test designation, a first for any international testing, inspection and certification company, applies to specific products and equipment as identified by the NOM and NMX categories. Product and equipment groups include:

  • NOM-001-SCFI-2018 – Electronic appliances
  • NMX-I-163-NYCE-2016 – Electronic equipment – uninterruptible power systems (UPS).
  • NMX-I-60065-NYCE-2015 – Electronic equipment – audio, video and similar electronic apparatus
  • NMX-I-60950-1-NYCE-2015 – Information technology equipment

According to The World Bank, Mexico – with a population of more than 130 million and a rise in income levels and spending power – has the 11th largest economy in the world and the second largest economy in Latin America.

"With Mexico’s rising growth comes a greater demand for more consumables, contributing to an increased need for additional regulatory safety and security oversight," said Carlos Correia, senior vice president and general manager of UL in Latin America. "With this designation from the DGN, UL is now able to meet that need by utilizing our global network of best-in-class laboratories and testing facilities to help electronic product and equipment manufacturers meet necessary Mexico safety and security requirements and pave the way for a swift and smooth Mexico market entry."

In addition to safety tests, the DGN has designated that UL can now perform energy efficiency testing, including requirements for Energy Star or the Canada Standards Association, at UL facilities outside of Mexico. Applicable NOM standards include:

  • NOM-005-ENER-2016 – household washing machines
  • NOM-014-ENER-2004 – air-cooled motors
  • NOM-015-ENER-2012 – household refrigerators and freezers
  • NOM-017-ENER/SCFI-2014 – commercial refrigeration appliances
  • NOM-029-ENER-2017- external power supplies
  • NOM-030-ENER-2016 – LEDs
  • NOM-032-ENER-2013 – equipment and appliances requiring standby power
