LiveMolo to Launch a Streaming Service App ‘Molo’ Equipped with a Commerce Function This December

SEONGNAM, South Korea, Dec. 11, 2020LiveMolo (CEO Ho-sik Yang), a tenant company in the ICT-Cultural Convergence Center run by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), announced that it plans to launch streaming service app ‘Molo’ built-in with a commerce function on Google Play Store at the end of this December.

Established in 2018 to become a streaming service for one-person media, LiveMolo provides services to common people who dream of running a small business, small business owners, and unknown creators and influencers. It was certified as a venture business in 2019, and it was also recognized as a company-affiliated research institute by the Korea Industrial Technology Association this September.

The streaming service app ‘Molo’ to be released this time is equipped with a live commerce function that allows viewers to purchase products directly beyond live streaming. It has improved accessibility for small businesses and the general public without special skills and capital to use it easily.

Molo is capable of low-latency live broadcasting and real-time chat, and the VoD automatically generated after the broadcast ends can be shared on social media linked with Molo app. In addition, it is composed of a relatively simple UI/UX to enhance the convenience of use for hosts and viewers.

Molo has also differentiated itself in term of operation. Since most live commerce services charge a high fee, hurdles are high for common people and small business owners who start live commerce for the first time. However, Molo has relatively less burden because it is operated with minimal fees.

CEO Ho-shik Yang said, "Molo will build an ecosystem where small business owners, creators, and the general public can directly communicate with viewers, promote and earn profits. We also plan to implement a web-based platform so people can use Molo not only on the app but also on the web."

Nel ASA: Selected by Iberdrola as preferred supplier for a 20 MW green fertilizer project in Spain

OSLO, Norway, Nov. 4, 2020 — Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser, a division of Nel ASA (Nel, OSE:NEL), has been selected as preferred supplier by Iberdrola for a 20 MW PEM solution for a green fertilizer project in Spain. Contract award is subject to mutual agreement on the final commercial terms. The hydrogen plant is scheduled to commence operations in 2021.

Iberdrola, one of the largest electricity utilities in the world, has together with a world-leading fertilizer manufacturer Fertiberia launched a project to establish the largest green hydrogen plant in Europe. Located in Puertollano, Spain it will feature a 100 MW photovoltaic plant, a battery installation with a storage capacity of 20 MWh, and a 20 MW electrolyser. The hydrogen produced in the project will primarily be used for green fertilizer production. The 20 MW electrolyser is scheduled to commence operations in 2021.

Contract award is subject to mutual agreement on the final agreement on terms and conditions, technical details, and board approval.

Hytera Launched the Latest Broadband Emergency Communication Products

The PNE380 is featured with small form factor, and the weight of 288g is almost the lightest mesh radio in the industry. PNE380 is designed as a brand-new handheld radio that is capable of offering voice, data and video multimedia service, and similar to the traditional DMR radios in dimensions, appearance as well as usage mode. 

According to Dr. Guan, the PNE380 performs great despite its small size and low weight. Firstly, the PNE380 can flexibly switch between the cellular mode and the mesh mode on customers’ demands, which enriches the application scenarios of the radio. Secondly, with dual-band design, the PNE380 can work over both U and L band, and supports auto frequency scanning and selection, thus offering much better anti-jamming performance than the traditional single-band radio. Thanks to the superior signal processing capability of SoC chipset as well as the advanced technology of 4G and 5G, the PNE380 offers outstanding demodulation performance. Despite 0.5 watt transmit power, the single-hop distance with HD video service on the ground approaches to 1.5 Km with typical antenna, even longer than the distance of some backpacked mesh radio with high transmit power.

The PNE380 is powered with ARM cores and multimedia accelerators, and supports Android OS and customized Apps on actual demands.

Also, it provides rich peripheral interfaces for the flexible functionality extension.

In addition to high definition video services, the PNE380 radio can also offer various voice services through the Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) software, such as trunking group call, multi-party conference and more. Dome Camera over Mesh Network

The dome cameras are widely used in fire, public security, energy and other industries to capture videos in emergencies. At present, dome cameras feed live video over public networks. However, in many emergency situations, public networks might be unavailable or congested, resulting in video backhaul failures. This adversely affects decision making for emergency.

To solve the problem, Hytera together with its partners embeds the mesh module into the pedestal of the dome camera. Therefore, when public networks are congested, the dome camera can backhaul video to the command center over mesh network, which significantly improves situational awareness and facilitates decision making.

The cost-effective and integrated pedestal can be easily installed and connected to PNE380, manpack radios, mobile radio, and other mesh products, which brings a more practical solution.

Adhesive Communication Box

The devices, no matter manpack, handheld, or wearable, will increase the burden on the first responders. As the first responders move or improperly carry the devices, the communication performance might be affected. Considering the emergency situations on the site, Hytera along with its partners has proposed the creative concept of adhesive communication box.

Dr. Guan showed an upcoming adhesive communication box that weights over 400 g. The box is easy to be recycled and pasted to the wall, light pole and other facilities by reusable universal pastes. Thus, customers give the box a vivid nickname "chewing gum". Featuring rich peripheral interfaces, the box also can be integrated with the AI edge computing module or Internet of Things (IoT) module, which further improves process capabilities and makes the box suitable for more scenarios.

5G technologies facilitate the development of the device-to-device (D2D) technologies, which have been widely applied to sectors such as the Internet of Vehicles (IOV) and Internet of unmanned intelligent devices. Dr. Guan pointed out, with the 5G-driven evolution of 3GPP-based mesh network technologies, Hytera will adhere to mainstream mesh network technologies and constantly upgrade mesh products. Based on unmanned drones and vehicles, 5G technologies shows great potential in the development of emergency communications toward the air-ground integration and man-machine coordination.

Kuaishou Cements its Place among China’s Internet Giants: Latest Industry Report

The app has reported 41.5% YoY growth of MAUs

BEIJING, Aug 7, 2020 — Short videos and livestreaming are no longer niche industries, as shown by data collected by Quest Mobile (QM), a big data monitoring agency. The company recently released its highly influential China Internet 2020 report. Kuaishou, a Tencent-backed company, was given special mention in the report, as both its user growth and revenue share surpassed market expectations.

Kuaishou, one of the most popular short video platforms in China, reported a 41.5% YoY growth from June 2019. Recording over 300 million daily active users (DAUs), Kuaishou has outgrown its more established competitors and has shown that it is here to stay.

Kuaishou is the only short video platform that gained the most user numbers with its short video and live broadcast platforms (Kuaishou Lite and Kuaishou) occupying the 4th and 5th place, respectively, according to figures from the June 2020 Internet Activity Ranking.

According to QM’s report, the monthly active users (MAU) of the livestreaming and short video sector increased to 852 million in China. The sector accounts for nearly 20% of total network user duration, second only to instant messaging. It also became the second largest industry in the media space and surpassing even the online video industry in terms of advertising revenue. Overall, the industry’s revenue pie has grown by 30% YoY.

Kuaishou was credited with organizing the Spring Festival Gala and attracting the likes of celebrities such as Jay Chou and Lang Lang to conduct record-breaking livestreams on its platform. Kuaishou saw success as over 910 million people watched the Gala, of which 79.6% watched via short video platforms. The ability of short videos to attract and retain users have normalized the mainstream population, even in China’s first-and-second-tier cities.

The report also showed that Kuaishou emerged as the popular choice for millions of Chinese livestreaming e-commerce sellers, including e-commerce giants like JD.com. The QM report credited Kuaishou’s livestreaming effort as a substantial driver of the growing e-commerce industry in China. The industry so far has been embraced by over 1 billion users, of which 100 million, or 10%, are from Kuaishou.

China has shown the effectiveness of short video and livestreaming content in driving commercialization. Platforms like Kuaishou are driving individuals, enterprises, industries, and governments to experiment with using new content forms to achieve transformation, growth and development.

NEW YORK, June 4, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — SiriusXM announced today that it is adding Australian Football League programming to its sports lineup for the first time ever, featuring a new exclusive show hosted by Australian media icon Eddie McGuire, as well as play-by-play broadcasts of an AFL Match of the Week.

Aussie Football Rules America with Eddie McGuire will debut tonight, June 4th and will air every Thursday from 6:00-7:00 pm ET, on SiriusXM’s Dan Patrick Radio channel (ch. 211), recapping the previous week’s AFL action and looking ahead at the exciting matches in the weekend ahead.

McGuire is a household name in Australia as one of the most prominent media personalities in his home country.  He has been deeply involved in Australian Rules Football throughout his life, from his days as a youth player and his first job as an Australian Rules Football statistician and reporter, to playing a leading role in his country’s sport today.
