Firstly, it’s response time is slower than that of TN panels. TN panels are also cheaper to produce, making the ZOWIE monitor a little more accessible. Secondly, TN panels offer a better and more reliable response times to IPS displays. The expense? Your picture quality and colours suffer a little bit. But this is the world of competitive FPS gaming. That means that your picture quality matters less, and performance is what you want.

If you want to get the best of the bets gaming displays, you want something with 4K resolution. At that, you also want a rather fast display. You might already have a home office with a proper work-from-home corner. Since the pandemic hit early in 2020, most of us had to shift our work patterns and get used to working from home. We must have a proper work from home set-up going. But that was nearly two years ago now. You would have to grab whatever you can get your hands on and put together a working set-up. In that case you need something that can ultimately protect your eyes in extended working condition. The BenQ GW2485TC and GW2785TC monitors do not boast 4K resolutions. They boast a rather humble Full HD 1080p resolution. Full HD 1080p is still more than enough to enjoy the likes of Netflix though.

The technology uses an ambient light sensor to adjust what you see on the monitor. It does not only detect the brightness level of your room or work area. The display will automatically and cleverly reduce or increase overall brightness and even optimise dark parts so that you can see enough details on it without compromising the brightness levels of the entire display.

The clever display also has a flicker-free technology that reduces or eliminates flicker across all brightness levels available to the display. Of course, to ensure that you can keep working on the displays in extended periods, the displays are made with lower than regular blue light emissions. The downside to that is the slight warm tinge you might find on the display.

Other features that should boost your productivity levels is the Daisy Chain feature that allows you to create a multi-screen set-up with just a single USB Type-C connection from your PC. Once you plug in the USB Type-C cable too, your thin-and-light notebook can also simultaneously be charged at 60W PD from the monitors. It is also designed with ease of use and flexibility in mind, so you can tilt the display into any orientation for your convenience. There is also a built-in mic paired with two 2W speakers on both the display models for you to work with in a video call environment.

Of course, as per their name, they come in different sizes. The GW2485TC comes with a 24-inch IPS panel with 75Hz refresh rate. The GW2785TC also comes in an IPS panel that measures in at 27-inch instead of a measly 24-inch. It also refreshes at 75Hz.

The BenQ MOBIUZ EX2710U will be available a little later in the year. There is no official pricing for the 27-incher currently too. The BenQ MOBIUZ EX3210U is now available on BenQ’s official Shoppe or Lazada stores at MYR 4,868. The new BenQ GW2485TC is now available also on their official store on Shopee and Lazada at MYR 1,149. BenQ Launches World’s First Portable LED Projector, the GV30 in Malaysia

Having a projector at home makes a lot of sense. With enough surface area, you can have an entertainment display that is usually larger than regular TVs you find today. You can usually resize and change the placement of your projector at any time you want. You can stow it away too when not in use to have a much cleaner looking surface free of a blank TV screen. You can even use the projector at any flat surface you have in your home, which also means you can set up your entertainment hub anywhere in the home.

Obviously, there are some trade-offs. 4K resolution projectors are usually quite large and bulky, you hardly want to move them too much. The BenQ GV30 is the world’s first smart portable LED projector of its kind. If you have been looking for a gaming monitor or even a secondary monitor for your gaming or work from home set up, BenQ will be one of those names that should come up quite often. If you cannot tell by its codename yet, the MOBIUZ EX3415R is a 34-inch display. It is also an ultra-wide monitor with 21:9 aspect ratio. It boasts 3,440 x 1,440 (WQHD) from its ultrawide panel. Of course, ultrawide also means it must be a little curved for your convenience. It has a pretty shallow 1900R curve, but it is enough for a good immersion for yourself.

At the same time, the IPS panel boasts 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. This is not just a gaming monitor anymore; it is a content creator’s dream set-up. It boasts HDR10 at 1000:1 contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR 400 at up to 400nits standards too, which also means that colour grading videos on the MOBIUZ EX3415R should be a piece of cake.

Of course, colour accuracy in a gaming monitor is really more of a bonus feature than its selling point. For a gaming monitor to be a gaming monitor you really want at least 120Hz in refresh rate. This has 144Hz.

You also want it to be a fast-reacting display for not just the best competitive advantage, but for the best immersion as well. The lower the numbers are here, the better. The BenQ Mobiuz EX3415R boasts 1ms MPRT and 2ms Gray-to-Gray response times. That also means that the display reacts almost instantly to any move you make on your joystick or mouse and keyboard. All of that, on top of a tear-free experience that is the AMD FreeSync technology.

For it to be an all-rounder, it now needs a powerful speaker set-up and be a USB hub. This does both of that too. It has two additional USB 3.0 ports so that you can plug in whatever USB devices to it. It also a BenQ treVolo set-up with dual 2W speakers with an additional 5W subwoofer for the widest possible dynamic range and sound staging from a monitor. In that sense, you do not need a headphone or additional speakers for the monitor.
