Touch ‘n Go Group has officially thrown its considerable digital and physical resources behind the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign, marking a comprehensive partnership with Tourism Malaysia. Announced at the World Tourism Day celebration in Melaka, the collaboration is designed to revolutionise the experience for international visitors by establishing a truly borderless, cashless payment ecosystem and celebrating Malaysia’s rich cultural identity through commemorative payment instruments.

The partnership leverages the dual strengths of the Group: the ubiquitous mobility solution provided by Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd and the expansive digital reach of TNG Digital Sdn Bhd (operator of the TNG eWallet).
ASEAN Travellers Can Now Pay Like a Local
The cornerstone of the VM2026 effort is the simplification of the payment experience for tourists, directly addressing the major pain points of cash, currency conversion, and limited card acceptance outside of major retail centers.
Tourists from ASEAN nations (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) can now register for the Touch ‘n Go eWallet using their foreign mobile numbers. Verification codes are delivered via WhatsApp, making the registration process seamless and accessible to international users before they even arrive in Malaysia.
This digital inclusion extends to funding the account. Visitors can conveniently reload their balance using credit or debit cards issued in their home countries. The eWallet is subsequently accepted at over 2 million merchant touchpoints nationwide and is compatible with the DuitNow QR network, part of PayNet’s interoperable network of over 2.5 million merchant touchpoints. This is especially advantageous for local businesses, including hawker stalls and small vendors, helping them tap into international tourist spending.
Alan Ni, CEO of TNG Digital Sdn Bhd, shared that the goal is to provide international tourists with the same confidence, security, and convenience enjoyed by locals. Following this initial rollout to ASEAN tourists, TNG Digital plans to gradually expand access to travellers from other regions, including key markets such as China, South Korea, and Japan.
Physical Keepsakes and Digital Incentives For Visit Malaysia 2026
Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd is supporting the campaign with innovative physical products that double as souvenirs and functional payment instruments. The company announced upcoming exclusive VM2026-themed cards and charms, featuring the official campaign logo, mascots, and cultural motifs. These commemorative products are fully functional for mobility payments—usable for toll, transit, and parking—and are equipped with NFC technology for easy reloads via the TNG eWallet.
In collaboration with Tourism Malaysia, the Group also introduced VM2026 Digital Vouchers and co-branded promotional materials. These digital incentives further support Malaysia’s tourism agenda, aiming to deliver financial value directly to visitors while stimulating growth across the hospitality, transportation, retail, and culinary sectors.

Praba Sangarajoo, CEO of Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd, summarized the strategy, noting that the Group’s role is to enhance travel experiences through both physical (commemorative cards) and digital solutions (mobile payments), empowering both tourists and merchants alike. The entire initiative reinforces Malaysia’s position as a digitally connected, tourist-friendly destination ahead of the VM2026 campaign.
