Acer has just launched two new Chromeboxes, the Acer Chromebox CXI6 and the Acer Chromebox Mini CXM2, offering compact yet powerful solutions for a wide range of environments. These new models are designed to provide a reliable and fast ChromeOS experience for everything from school labs to small businesses and retail kiosks.
The Acer Chromebox CXI6 is a streamlined and space-saving device that doesn’t compromise on performance. It is powered by up to an Intel Core 7 150U processor. A key feature of the CXI6 is its extensive port selection, which includes five USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB 3.2 Type-C port, and dual HDMI ports. This allows it to support up to four independent monitors, making it a powerful solution for commercial and educational environments. For networking, it provides fast and stable connections with Wi-Fi 6E and a 2.5G LAN port. The CXI6 also supports up to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 256 GB of M.2 PCIe SSD storage.
For those in space-constrained environments who need a whisper-quiet solution, Acer also introduced the Acer Chromebox Mini CXM2. This ultra-compact Chromebox has a fanless design, which allows it to run silently. It’s powered by an Intel Core 3 processor N350, providing solid responsiveness for everyday performance and multitasking. Despite its small size, it still offers a great selection of ports, including five USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB 3.2 Type-C port, and dual HDMI ports. It can support up to three independent monitors. The CXM2 comes with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 128 GB of eMMC storage.
Both the CXI6 and CXM2 models can be mounted to the back of a monitor using an optional VESA mounting kit to save desk space. They both come with the option of a Chrome Enterprise Upgrade, which unlocks the business capabilities of ChromeOS, including enhanced security, simple management, and flexible access.
Pricing and Availability
The Acer Chromebox CXI6 will be available in North America in December, starting at USD 519.99 (~RM 2,199). In EMEA, it will be available in September, starting at EUR 299 (~RM 1,473). In Australia, it will be available in Q4’2025, starting at AUD 599 (~RM 1,653).
The Acer Chromebox Mini CXM2 will be available in North America in Q1’2026, starting at USD 329.99 (~RM 1,396). In EMEA, it will be available in September, starting at EUR 199 (~RM 980). In Australia, it will be available in Q4’2025, starting at AUD 499 (~RM 1,377).
