OnePlus has officially unveiled its latest offerings for the mid-range market, the OnePlus Nord 5 and the OnePlus Nord CE 5. Continuing the Nord series’ tradition of balancing performance with value, this new lineup introduces significant upgrades in processing power, camera capabilities, and display technology. The Nord 5 is positioned as the more powerful, “flagship-killer” option, while the Nord CE 5 (Core Edition) offers a more streamlined experience at an even more accessible price point.

OnePlus Nord 5: The All-Rounder
The OnePlus Nord 5 is designed to be a true powerhouse, borrowing several features from its more expensive flagship siblings. It is built around the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which provides a significant boost in both CPU and GPU performance, making it highly capable for demanding games and smooth multitasking.
The visual experience is a major highlight, centered around a large 6.83-inch Swift AMOLED display. This screen boasts a sharp 1272 x 2800 pixel resolution and a fluid 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring that everything from scrolling through social media to gaming feels incredibly smooth. The display is also impressively bright, with a peak brightness of 1,800 nits, and it incorporates 3840Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain in low-light conditions. For durability, the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
Photography has received a notable upgrade. The main camera is a 50MP Sony LYT-700 sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), a feature that helps reduce blur from shaky hands to produce clearer, sharper photos, especially in low light. An 8MP ultrawide camera complements this for capturing expansive scenes. Up front is a 50MP sensor for selfies
Keeping the device running all day is a large 7,300mAh battery, which now supports incredibly fast 80W SUPERVOOC charging. The phone also features OnePlus’s Plus Key and an IP54 rating for splash resistance.
OnePlus Nord CE 5: The Core Essentials
The OnePlus Nord CE 5 is crafted to deliver the core OnePlus experience in a more affordable package. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex chipset, a highly capable processor that ensures smooth performance for everyday tasks and casual gaming.
It features a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 1080 x 2392 pixel resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. While not as bright as the Nord 5, it is still a vibrant and responsive screen.
The camera system on the Nord CE 5 is also impressive for its class. It is headlined by a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), ensuring sharp and stable shots. This is paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 16MP selfie camera.
The Nord CE 5 is equipped with a substantial 7,100mAh battery and supports rapid 80W SUPERVOOC charging, matching the charging speed of its more powerful sibling. This is a standout feature in its price segment, ensuring users can get back to a full charge in a very short amount of time. The device omits the alert slider found on the Nord 5.
