Nothing has officially launched its first true flagship smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3), in Malaysia. The global debut of the device was on July 1, 2025, with the Malaysian launch following on July 11. The Phone (3) is an evolution of the brand’s transparent design language and introduces an updated Glyph Interface, a new camera system, and a significant performance upgrade.

“Tech has become boring; every phone looks the same, feels the same, does the same,”
Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing
The design of the Phone (3) features a new tri-column layout on its transparent back, inspired by modern architecture. The ergonomics have been refined with a new R-angle shape for a more comfortable hold. The front of the phone has uniform 1.87 mm bezels on all four sides, which are 18% slimmer than those on the Phone (2), resulting in a screen-to-body ratio of 92.89%.

The display is a 6.67-inch flexible AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution. It has a peak brightness of up to 4500 nits for HDR content and 1600 nits in High Brightness Mode. It also features an adaptive refresh rate that adjusts between 30Hz and 120Hz, a 1000Hz touch sampling rate for responsiveness, and 2160 Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort.
Glyph Matrix & Nothing OS
The Glyph Matrix, a micro-LED display on the back of the phone, has been updated to provide more detailed information. It can show app-specific alerts, contact-based notifications, and real-time progress indicators. A playful extension called Glyph Toys brings tools like a clock and stopwatch, as well as micro-games, to the back of the phone, controlled by a dedicated button.

The Phone (3) runs on Nothing OS 3.5, which is based on Android 15. The OS includes new AI features such as Essential Search, a universal search bar, and Flip to Record, which allows users to transcribe and summarize in-person conversations by placing the phone face down. Nothing guarantees 5 years of major Android updates and 7 years of security updates.
Performance & Camera
The Phone (3) is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, built on 4nm technology. This provides a 36% increase in CPU power and an 88% GPU upgrade compared to the Phone (2). The device is equipped with a 5150mAh silicon-carbon battery, which supports 65W fast wired charging (full charge in 54 minutes) and 15W wireless charging.
The camera system is described as pro-grade and features a large 1/1.3” main sensor for improved low-light performance and lossless optical zoom. It supports 4K 60fps video recording across all lenses with full optical image stabilization. The device is also rated IP68 for water and dust resistance.
Pricing & Availability
The Nothing Phone (3) is available in black and white and comes in two configurations. The 12GB + 256GB model is priced at RM3,299, and the 16GB + 512GB model is priced at RM3,799.
