ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced two new additions to its monitor lineup: the Swift OLED PG27UCDM and the Strix OLED XG27AQDPG. These 27-inch displays showcase the latest advancements in OLED technology, promising exceptional visuals and performance for discerning gamers.
ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM: 4K at an Unprecedented 240Hz
The ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM makes a bold statement as the world’s first 27-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate. This combination of high resolution and rapid refresh rate offers a significant upgrade for gamers seeking the sharpest visuals and the smoothest gameplay. With a pixel density of 166ppi, the PG27UCDM aims to deliver sharper images and clearer text compared to previous generation panels.
Beyond its resolution and refresh rate, the PG27UCDM supports Dolby Vision® and HDR10 formats, offering enhanced dynamic range and color accuracy. These modes are easily selectable through the on-screen display (OSD) menu. Connectivity options are also comprehensive, including DisplayPort™ 2.1a UHBR20 (supporting up to 80Gbps bandwidth for uncompressed image quality), HDMI® 2.1, USB-C® with 90-watt Power Delivery, and a USB hub. The ROG DisplayWidget Center software provides quick access to monitor settings and OLED Care Pro features, enhancing user convenience.
ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDPG: The World’s Fastest OLED Display
Taking the spotlight as the world’s fastest OLED monitor, the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDPG boasts a 27-inch 1440p QD-OLED panel with a remarkable 500Hz refresh rate and a lightning-fast 0.03ms response time. This combination of speed and responsiveness is designed to provide gamers with an unparalleled competitive edge. The XG27AQDPG also features 10-bit color and 99% DCI-P3 gamut coverage, ensuring vibrant and lifelike visuals.
Similar to its counterpart, the XG27AQDPG includes the latest OLED Care Pro technology to mitigate the risk of burn-in. It also features Dynamic Brightness Boost, which increases brightness levels in HDR mode for improved high-luminance visuals. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.4 with Display Stream Compression (DSC) and HDMI 2.1. The DisplayWidget Center software is also included, allowing users to conveniently adjust monitor settings and OLED Care Pro functions.
Advanced OLED Technologies for Enhanced Viewing Experience
Both the PG27UCDM and XG27AQDPG incorporate several key technologies designed to enhance the viewing experience and protect the OLED panels:
- 4th-Gen QD-OLED Technology: Both monitors utilize the latest fourth-generation ROG QD-OLED technology, which promises improved color accuracy, brightness, and contrast compared to previous generations.
- ROG OLED Anti-Flicker 2.0: This technology minimizes onscreen flicker, a common issue with OLED displays, for more comfortable viewing during extended gaming sessions. It utilizes an advanced luminance compensation algorithm to dynamically adjust pixel brightness during refresh rate fluctuations, resulting in a reported 20% reduction in flicker compared to previous panels. A Refresh Rate Cap feature allows users to further reduce flicker by limiting the monitor’s refresh rate.
- ROG OLED Care Pro with Neo Proximity Sensor: This new technology includes a Neo Proximity Sensor that detects the user’s distance from the monitor. If the user is not detected, the monitor automatically switches to a black screen to prevent burn-in. The detection range is adjustable to accommodate individual preferences. In addition to the Neo Proximity Sensor, ROG OLED Care Pro includes other burn-in prevention features such as pixel cleaning, a screen saver, and taskbar detection.
Three-Year Warranty for Peace of Mind
Both the PG27UCDM and XG27AQDPG come with a three-year warranty, providing users with added peace of mind.
