Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S series is getting its BIG follow-up – emphasis on the BIG there. The new Tab S10 series seems to be skipping the vanilla Tab S10 and jumping straight to the Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra. This year, the focus seems to be on supersizing the series – both in size and with Galaxy AI.
The two new tablets, the Galaxy Tab S10+ and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra are both coming with an interesting change when it comes to processors. Both are equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ which is paired with 12GB of RAM across the board. Yes, both the Tab S10+ and the Tab S10 Ultra come with the same configuration. We asked Samsung about these changes, however, they have yet to comment on it. That said, the Dimensity 9300+ does hold its own when it comes to power and power efficiency if its track record is anything to go by.
The Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra are getting super-sized displays. The Tab S10+ comes with a 12.4-inch display while the Ultra is getting a huge 14.6-inch display. Both are high-resolution Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with resolutions of 2800×1752 pixels and 2960×1848 pixels respectively. Both are anti-reflective and also support a 120Hz refresh rate.
In addition to this, Samsung’s latest tablets are more durable than last year. While they still come with Armour Aluminium, they have been hardened for added toughness. Both are also IP68 dust and water-resistant making rain and spillage a non-issue. They also come with Harman Kardon calibrated sound.
Hardware-wise, the tablets’ only other differentiating factor is the camera setup of the Tab S10+ and the Tab S10 Ultra – specifically the front-facing camera. The Ultra comes with a dual 12-megapixel setup while the Tab S10+ comes with a single 12-megapixel sensor. On the back, both tablets come with a dual camera setup with a 13-megapixel main sensor complemented by an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor.
Supersized Screens Imbued with Galaxy AI
The larger screens of the Galaxy Tab S10 and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra are perfect surfaces for a supersized Galaxy AI experience. Samsung is bringing even more emphasis to this with a dedicated Galaxy AI button on the keyboard covers. This button can be mapped to launch Galaxy AI or Google’s Gemini.
When it comes to Galaxy AI, the Tab S10 series will be setting the full suite of features that we’ve seen in flagship Galaxy devices. This will include Circle to Search which is supercharged with the larger screen allowing it to show even more data, voice transcription, automatic note formatting and more. Of course, like other Galaxy devices, these features work with a select number of apps with more to come as compatibility is built-in later on.
