ZTE has launched the successor to the Star 1! Star 2 as per expected, packs in much more impressive specs than its predecessor.
The Star 2 measures in at only 1.18mm and is designed out of aluminium alloy. It sports a 5 inch Gorilla Glass 3 that is layered twice to give more durability. The device is powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor which is mated to 2GB worth of RAM. On top of that, the gadget has 16 GB worth of internal memory and is equipped with a 13 megapixel main camera on its back which has dual LED flash. On its front, it has a 5 megapixel shooter that is equipped with 88-degree ultra wide angle lens. The new MiFavor 3.0 customisable UI is also available on the device.
The highlight of the Star 2 is its system that that is fully voice controlled. The device sports the first ever system-level voice and speech recognition. This voice control system even works when the handset is offline and is not connected to any network. With the user’s voice, he can do whatever he wants – from making calls to opening apps to taking pictures. The Star 2 is suppose to respond within 1.2 seconds of the user giving a voice command. According to ZTE, there is a high 90% success rate for the voice control to work even in noisy surroundings. It in addition, has voice to text input that works in real time.
