Rumour has it that You Tube is planning on launching You Tube Music Key which is a music video streaming subscription service. Along with this launch, Google will be rebranding Google Play Music All Access. The service will now be referred to as Google Play Music Key. Both You Tube Music Key and Google Play Music Key will be sold to users together for only $10 per month.
Google and You Tube have yet to comment about the issue or release an official launch date. However, the rumours seems to be reported with some confidence that the plans are set in stone.
You Tube Music Key is the result of months of discussions and negotiations between Google and music labels especially the indie labels. Even though there are still some issues to be ironed out, the service seems to be quite enticing! The service aims to provide users with ad-free music videos, concert recordings, special band content and amazing playlists. Users can either subscribe to the premium version or the audio only playback and the offline playback.
The combo you get for only $10 is quite reasonable! You get an all inclusive music experience where you can get all audio and videos in one place. On top of this, Google is planning to add over twenty million high quality tracks and complete albums according to artists.
As per Google usual, you can expect a thirty day free trial for the Music Key combo. The only question right now is – will the existing users of the previous Google Play All Music access who paid $7.99 get the reduced rate for both or will they need to renew subscriptions at the higher rate? What do you think?
