Xiaomi has outdone its own sales figures just last month, it has moved over 26 million devices from the beginning of the year. That is about 271% of increase compared to June last Year, more than double the figure they did. Even more impressive is that they actually sold more devices this year up to June compared to the whole of last year.
Xiaomi stated that they aim to sell about 60 million devices this year. Judging bout how they did in 2013 (18 million devices) it does look like a tall order to triple up sales this year. But it is possible though as in 2012 they only sold about 7 million devices.
The report that produced the above results also shows that Xiaomi outsold Samsung in China again for the second time, majority of the sales came from the Xiaomi Redmi series phones offering a low price pointed phone with performance of a mid-tier phone that would cost more from other manufacturers. That said, it is no wonder that Xiaomi is hitting those kind of figures as they have been expanding aggressively in the Asian region. To name a few markets that have been receiving the brand well; Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and of course Malaysia, that’s us! With devices selling out in record time and Xiaomi keeping up with consistent batches there is really no argument on why the brand is doing mighty well.
On the subject of sales, Xiaomi just brought in another 7000 units of their best selling Xiaomi Mi3. We already know that it will sell like hot cakes, the only issue is how fast. The last time they sold out in 1 minute 55 seconds, this time they sold out in 35 seconds. Are we surprised by the number? No, not really any more actually. We are actually expecting that the device that will be sold in the future will break the record again. But to those who still couldn’t get their hands on on Xiaomi Mi3, keep watching this space; we will keep you posted on the next release.
