Xiaomi is right now one of the hottest name in the smartphone business. It overtook Samsung as China’s top market share holder last week and does not look like they are slowing down any time soon. In other parts of Asia as well its popularity just keeps increasing. For example, in India they have made records sales in which they sold all the 15,000 units of the Xiaomi Mi3 in just about two seconds. Yes you read that right; TWO SECONDS! Globally it has been on the climb as well since they just overtook the top 5 global market leaders in the industry.
That said, there are some aspects of their device that some might find a little backwards, or just not advanced enough. Take the Xiaomi Redmi Note for example. It is one of the most popular Xiaomi product since launch and also sells like hot cakes when it was released to the public. Now the Chinese manufacturer realised one thing that might make the Note less appealing to the public; its inability to connect to 4G, or rather its lack of 4G connectivity.
In light of that Xiaomi upgrades the Note with LTE antenna. The devices design and internals will all be similar to the current generation Xiaomi Redmi Note. In fact it will be almost an entirely same device except that it is equipped with an LTE antenna to take advantage of regions blessed with the 4G LTE technology like ours. Other than that it is quoted by Xiaomi themselved that the new LTE version of the Note will be lighter than the current outgoing Note. How will that make the Note better? All we can say is; to some, weight matters, especially for a device as big as the Redmi Note. It is noted as well that the price bracket for the device will remain as well with the LTE version.
So faster internet speeds, lighter device and the same selling price as before; sounds like a recipe for another hot selling item in the market. We are definitely excited about the sort of new device and see what kinds of speed it will take on. We are also very curious on how appealing it is to the market when it is released here, reportedly by the end of the year. In short we are excited to see it arriving in Malaysian shores and will definitely be watching the its progress in Malaysia.
