Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 2 which is the successor to the Redmi 1S! The smartphone is slated to be released in China and comes in a variety of colors.
Specs wise, the Redmi 2 is set to be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 (64-bit) 1.2GHz CPU and sport a 4.7 inch 1280 X 720 IPS display. It will support LTE and be Dual SIM capable. Mated with all this is 1 GB worth of RAM and 8 GB worth of internal storage which is expandable up to 32 GB. It will feature Adreno 306GPU and be powered by a 2200 mAh battery. Camera wise, it’ll have a 2 megapixel front shooter and an 8 megapixel back camera.
The Redmi 2 is just 9.4 mm thin and weighs 133 grams. It will be running on MIUI 6 and be available in 5 different colors. It was launched yesterday in China and should be reaching India and Philippines soon. The mid-range is only going to cost CNY 699 (USD$ 112/MYR 400).
