Xiaomi has just launched the Mi Note! The device will cost CNY 2299 (USD$371/MYR1318) for the 16 GB variant and CNY 2799 (USD$451/MYR1605) for the 64 GB version. The device proves to be sleek, slim and sophisticated in its design.
The Mi Note sports a 5.7 inch full HD screen which comes with Nela Tech LCD to offer higher contrast and dynamic pixel adjustment for better readability. The display is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. On its back, the device has a 13 megapixel rear camera that is equipped with optical image stabilisation. The camera uses Sony’s CMOS sensor, with a f2.0 aperture that comes with a dual tone flash from Phillips for natural looking images. On its front, the Mi Note has a 4 megapixel front shooter.
The front panel of the device features a 2.5D curved glass and a 3D curved glass rear panel. The gadget only weighs 161 grams. On top of all this, the Mi Note has a one handed mode to make it easier to use and minimises the size of the app windows. The gadget is powered by a 3000 mAh battery and comes with dual 4G Sim slot. It runs on a Snapdragon 801 processor which is mated with 3 GB worth of RAM. There is no option to expand internal memory but you have two variants to choose from – 16GB or 64 GB. Lastly, the Mi Note also has a hi-fi audio system with ESS ES9018K2M audio decoder for minimum distortion and lossless playback at 24-bit/192KHz.
This is definitely a device set to beat and compete directly with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The company didn’t hide it as well as it constantly made comparisons during the unveiling of the Mi Note. The gadget has yet to have a launch date but it should be within the first quarter of this year.
