Microsoft hasn’t been the most popular when it comes to pushing out Windows Phone updates in recent years. However, it seems like that may change this time around with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 update. The update is set to bring native folder support to the platform which is only available via an app on Windows Phone.
The update is set to hit its final development milestone, Release to Manufacturing (RTM), sometime in the next few weeks which will put it on track for release later this month, possibly by the end of the month. Microsoft would be releasing the Windows Phone Update globally and, if you’re a developer, you’d likely be able to get your hands on the Windows Phone Update via their developer program earlier than the rest of us.
