A lot of people have been speculating about what ‘L’ in Android L will stand for. Rumors were pointing towards the dessert, Lemon Meringue Pie but there’s new whispers in the air. Can it really be that it might just be Android Lollipop?
We got to admit that lollipop doesn’t sound as scrumptious as lemon meringue pie! For its 16th birthday, Google decided to post a birthday cake topped with lollipops! This might just be a in the face hint that Android L may just be named after the sticky stick sweet!
Lemon Meringue Pie became a front runner for awhile when sources and documents started showing up with Android L being referred to as “lmp”. However, this image may just have thrown the whole speculation out of the bag.
Google teased the unveiling of Android L at the Google I/O conference a couple of months ago and leaks have been saying that the main feature of the upgrade will be multiple user accounts. Android L will also have ART runtime by default.
We’re still waiting for Google to officially announce the name of Android L and it might just do so in the next couple of weeks. In the mean time, the “L” could mean anything at this point! Even, layer cake. What do you think it should stand for? Let us know in the comment section below!
