Early February this year, news about the WhatsApp Voice Calling app surfaced and it seems that the app might just be launched next year.
The Facebook-owned company is finally ready to push the new feature after it was leaked in a recent update on WhatsApp for Android. When the update is released, users are able to make WhatsApp calls over 3G, 4G or WiFi, and even record calls and listen to them again directly from the app. The feature isn’t active for now. Nevertheless, some unique features of the app inside the new Android APK have been leaked and might provide clues regarding the UI structure and functionality of WhatsApp Voice Calling.
It is still unknown if WhatsApp Voice Calling will be launched any time in the near future. Though it was promised by the company earlier this year, CEO and co-founder of WhatsApp, Jan Koum said that he is still knocking out deals with some major carriers. So, it might be possible that WhatsApp Voice Calling will delayed for its release.
