One of the best and the most used messaging apps in Android is WhatsApp and thanks to the new end-to-end encryption feature for messages. It means that users messages are protected and can’t be decrypted by WhatsApp. This new feature is soon to be headed on iOS.
The partnership for this new feature is by Open Whisper Systems, also known for their TextSecure apps. For such a large formation of coding, Open Whisper CTO Moxie Marlinspike says it took at least six months to construct the code.
The chat room only can bee seen by two parties, one sending and one receiving. And even if WhatsApp were asked to hand over the messages to any law enforcement, they won’t be able to crack the code.
WhatsApp’s move is serious because it’s a big automatic security system that was upgraded to a large portion of its 600 million users. Will the new encryption feature makes it better for everyone?
