TP-Link has been a well-known brand in the networking space. In 2015, the company spread its wings with its first smartphones. Last year, they launched the Neffos X1 series with local celebrity Fazura. At the CES this year, TP-Link announced two devices: the Neffos N1 and the Neffos C7; a flagship and mid-range device respectively. The devices are now being launched in Malaysia.
Succeeding the previous X1 series, the Neffos N1 is TP-Link’s flagship device for this year. The affordable flagship brings specifications which enable it flagship class performance without the super-premium price tag.
The Neffos N1 comes with the MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core processor clocked at 2.6GHz. It’s complemented with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage which can be expanded with up to an additional 128GB of memory via microSD card.
On the display front, the N1 comes with a 5.5-inch, FullHD 1080p IPS display with a pixel density of 403 pixels per inch. It comes with a dual camera setup for its main camera with dual 12-megapixels sensors. The selfie camera front, the sensor is an 8-megapixel sensor.No information on the aperture has been made available at the launch.
It comes with WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity with support for both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bandwidths. The N1 supports dual nano SIM with dual standby. This means that you’ll be able to use 2 numbers on the device simultaneously. Both SIMs will be 4G LTE capable. Additionally, the device supports GLONASS, GPS, AGPS and Bluetooth 4.1. It is also equipped with fingerprint, Compass, Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Ambient light and proximity sensors. All of this is powered by a 3,260mAh battery and runs on Android 7.1.1 with the NFUI 7.0 skin.
The Neffos N1 will be on sale for RM1,099. It will available only in Space Black.
Also revealed for the Malaysian market is the Neffos C7. The C7 is the company’s mid-range offering and takes sharp focus on younger, selfie and camera-centric users.
It runs on a MediaTek MTK6750 octa-core processor clocked at1.5GHz. This is supported by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable by up to 128GB of additional space with the use of a microSD card.
The C7 comes with a 5.5-inch, HD 720p, IPS display with a resolution of 1280×720. This gives it a respectable pixel density of 267 pixels per inch. On the camera side of things, the Neffos C7 comes with a 13-megapixel sensor with support for phase detection autofocus (PDAF). On the selfie front, it’s equipped with an 8-megapixel sensor.
It comes with support for dual SIM, dual standby on 4G LTE. It also supports WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1. The C7 is equipped with a fingerprint, compass gyroscope, accelerometer, ambient light and proximity sensors. All of this is powered by a 3060mAh battery. It will be running Android 7.0 with Neffos’ proprietary NFUI 7.0.
The Neffos C7 will be retailing for RM599 and will be available in Cloud Grey and Sunrise Gold.
Neffos didn’t forget about the entry level devices at the launch. For the entry level, the company unveiled its C5A; a highly affordable smartphone which comes with specifications which won’t blow your mind with the performance but will be able to handle day to day tasks.
The Neffos C5A comes with a large 5-inch twisted nematic (TN) display. The FWVGA display has a resolution of 854×480 and a pixel density of 196 pixels per inch.
The C5A runs on the MediaTek MT6580M quad-core processor which is clocked at 1.3GHz. This is supported by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. The storage is, of course, expandable with a microSD card with up to an additional 32GB of memory.
On the camera front, the C5A comes with a 5-megapixel main shooter with auto-focus. On the selfie side of things, it comes with a 2-megapixel shooter. Again, no information on the aperture has been made available at the time of launch.
The smartphone only supports WCDMA and GSM networks. There is no support for 4G LTE. It also has support for GPS and AGPS. Meanwhile, on the WiFi front, it supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n only on the 2.4GHz bandwidth. It also has support for Bluetooth 4.0. Also supported is dual-SIM, dual standby capabilities with a primary microSIM and a secondary miniSIM. It only has an onboard accelerometer. All of this is powered by a 2,300mAh battery and runs on Android 7.0 with the NFUI 7.0 skin.
The Neffos C5A will be retailing for RM299. It will be available only in grey.
