A few months ago Vivo launched their very new, very interesting NEX smartphone. The Vivo NEX is the Chinese manufacturer’s iteration of what a flagship should be. With its brilliant solution to a small niggle in modern smartphones Vivo managed to have the NEX fully display on the front with no interruptions to the display.
Before that though there was something called the V9. The V9 was the entry-level mid-range smartphone for the Malaysian market. That was nearly 8 months ago though. Today there is a new smartphone to replace the V9; say hello to the Vivo V11.
The Vivo V11 is, as per mentioned earlier is the latest mid-range smartphone to replace the V9 smartphone. It packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 (MediaTek Helio P60 for V11i) and paired to a 6GB RAM (4GB for V11i) that runs the Funtouch OS 4.5 on top of Google’s Android 8.1. That combination, in most cases, should ensure that the device run as smooth as any modern smartphone should. This is not something too new for Vivo though, quite expected.
The Funtouch OS 4.5 is pushed to your eyes via a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED Halo Fullview display at Full HD+ resolution (6.3-inch Incell with Full HD+ for V11i). The notch that was so prominent on the V9 is now replaced with a small smidge that is the front facing camera. That glass is encased via an aluminium framed glass backing that houses a dual-lens 12-Megapixel plus 5-Megapixel cameras set-up. All that high-resolution photos will be stored in the massive 128GB (non-expandable) storage this thing has.
Keen eyed readers might find something odd. Yes, wait; no, there is no fingerprint sensor dip to be found on the Vivo V11 here. That is because it borrowed the brilliant in-display fingerprint sensor from the X21 so it still has top-notch security. That is not all the security feature on it though. It also has something called Face Access (also available on V11i) which is borrowed from its bigger brother the NEX. It uses infrared lighting to make Face Access even more accurate and reliable even in low-light conditions. That glossy 3D curved glass back also covers its large 3,400mAh (3,315mAh for V11i) battery too.
The Vivo V11 is available from Vivo’s authorised retailers and all Vivo concept stores nationwide 15th September, 2018 onward. The V11i will be available 21st September, 2018 onward. Of course you can find the device selling on Malaysia’s favourite e-commerce platforms as well. Both devices will be available in Starry Night and Nebula Fusion colours. The Vivo V11 and V11i will set you back MYR1,699 and MYR1,299 respectively.
