Strategic Collaboration to Revolutionize the Future of Construction Sites

Bringing together HD Hyundai XiteSolution’s CEO and President, Dong-wook Lee, and VP of IoT, AWS, Yasser Alsaied, the ceremony marked a pivotal moment to elevate construction site safety and productivity. HD Hyundai XiteSolution will collaborate with AWS to build a connectivity platform for HD Hyundai XiteSolution’s smart construction equipment. The European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) includes CPD functionality as part of the automotive safety assessment. Additionally, the U.S. Congress passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, urging the Department of Transportation (DOT) to take action to reduce child deaths due to hot cars. This underscores the increasing importance and ubiquity of CPD systems.

Setting itself apart from products that merely detect the presence of occupants, TMYTEK’s in-car CPD technology utilizes millimeter-wave radar TDM-MIMO FMCW technology. This technology can differentiate between adults and children, objects and non-objects. Operating at the zenith of the car cabin, it conducts a 360-degree, no-dead-angle scan to detect the interior space. The millimeter-wave radar TDM-MIMO FMCW technology utilizes 3 transmitting antennas and 4 receiving antennas to generate 12 sets of transceiver links. This simulates an antenna array aperture similar to the size of 12 antennas, effectively enhancing the horizontal and vertical scanning angles of the antenna array and improving angular resolution.

Regarding intelligent car doors, TMYTEK successfully applied millimeter-wave radar algorithms to HCMF Group’s autonomously designed and developed automatic side door opening and closing system. This system detects obstacles outside the door when it opens automatically and integrates HCMF’s unique anti-pinch mechanism to prevent collisions with external objects during automatic door opening and avoid accidental pinching during closing. TMYTEK’s millimeter-wave radar operates in the 60-64GHz millimeter-wave frequency band, offering a high bandwidth advantage of 4GHz to provide high-distance and high-speed resolution. Under the theme of ‘Shaping the future of mobility space,’ LG Display will present its innovative automotive technologies for global automakers and auto parts companies in Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) to further accelerate its order-based business for automotive display solutions optimized for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs).

Also known as ‘smartphones on wheels,’ SDVs are associated with ‘screenification,’ a concept that refers to the increase in the number of automotive displays within a vehicle as various vehicle control and infotainment features continue to advance.

LG Display will showcase various large-sized automotive display solutions that completely cover the vehicle’s dashboard, leveraging differentiated technologies such as P-OLED, Advanced Thin OLED (ATO), and LTPS (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon) LCD.

The ultra-high-resolution P-OLED features a flexible plastic substrate for a lightweight and flexible panel. ATO, on the other hand, utilizes glass substrates to offer the core strength of automotive OLED at a more competitive price point. In addition, LTPS LCD is a high-performance panel that enables larger and higher-resolution displays compared to existing LCDs.

LG Display will also introduce its safety enhancement solution, ‘Switchable Privacy Mode (SPM),’ which automatically adjusts the display’s viewing angle away from the driver’s line of sight to keep their eyes focused on the road. When active, content such as movies or games being displayed on the front passenger’s side is diverted away from the driver’s side so that only the passenger can watch it.

Furthermore, the company will also present solutions that offer new driving experiences while maximizing space efficiency within the limited confines of a vehicle, such as Slidable and Foldable OLEDs installed in the back of seats that can be hidden away or extended for use on demand.
