Vivo Unveils the S19 Series: Striking Design, Powerful Cameras, and Long Battery Life

Vivo has unveiled its latest smartphone lineup – the S19 series. Comprising the S19 and S19 Pro, these mid-range devices boast a sleek design, impressive camera capabilities, and long-lasting batteries, making them strong contenders in the competitive smartphone market.

Both the S19 and S19 Pro feature a near bezel-less display with a waterdrop notch housing the front camera. The 6.78-inch AMOLED display boasts a Full HD+ resolution (1260 x 2800 pixels) and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate for a visually immersive experience. The S19 and S19 Pro come in three colourways. The S19 Pro will be available in Misty Rain, Mountain Green and Sword Shadow Gray. The vanilla S19, on the other hand, will be available in Misty Rain, Peach Blossom and Pine Smoke.

Under the hood, the S19 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, while the S19 Pro opts for the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+. Both processors offer reliable performance for everyday tasks, light gaming, and multitasking. The devices come pre-installed with OriginOS 4 on top of Android 14, offering a user-friendly interface with customization options.

Honor has officially unveiled its latest smartphone series, the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro. These mid-range devices cater to users who prioritize performance and a long-lasting battery for everyday tasks.

Both phones are powered by capable processors. The Honor 200 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, known for its balanced performance and efficiency. The Honor 200 Pro takes things a step further with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, ideal for users who demand smooth multitasking and handling graphics-intensive applications.

Both the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro boast a sizable 5,200mAh battery, promising ample power for extended use throughout the day. 100W wired charging on both models ensures you can quickly refuel your device when needed. Only the Pro version supports 66W wireless charging, offering an additional convenient charging option.

The Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro share a similar display. They feature a large 6.78-inch OLED panel with a QHD+ resolution (1224 x 2700 pixels) and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. This combination offers vibrant colours, sharp visuals, and a responsive touch experience for watching videos, gaming, and browsing the web.

The camera systems differ slightly between the two models. The Honor 200 sports a 50-megapixel, 1/1.56-inch main sensor with f/1.95 aperture and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). This is accompanied by additional lenses for capturing various scenes. The Honor 200 Pro steps it up with a custom 50-megapixel 1/1.3-inch H9000 sensor, also featuring OIS, promising superior image quality, especially in low-light conditions. Both the Pro and vanilla Honor 200 come with a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 2.5x optical zoom and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. Honor has also struck a partnership with French photography studio Harcourt for a special Harcourt Portrait mode that simulates professional studio lighting with AI.

Both phones run on Android 14 with Honor’s MagicOS 8.0 on top. This latest software iteration offers a refined user interface, improved privacy controls, and access to the latest Google features. Honor promises four major Android updates and five years of security updates, ensuring your phone stays protected and up-to-date for years to come.

The Honor 200 Pro starts at CNY 3,499 (approximately MYR 2,040 or USD 477) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. Both phones come in four colour options: Moon Shadow White, Coral Pink, Sky Ocean Green and Velvet Black.

The Honor 100 Pushes Mid-range Boundaries

The Honor 100 debuts as the first smartphone to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. The new system on a chip (SoC) brings even more power to the smartphone industry than its predecessor and maybe even the last generation flagship smartphones. It has a svelte 7.8 mm profile and a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with a fingerprint scanner seamlessly embedded beneath.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 powering this sleek marvel is a 4nm process-driven Qualcomm chipset, with a dynamic CPU configuration. The combination of a Cortex-A715 core that clocks at an impressive 3.15 GHz, complemented by three additional cores at 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A510 units operating at 1.8 GHz promises blazing performance with good power efficiency – at least on paper.

The Honor 100 comes with a dual camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 sensor complemented with a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor. Up front is a 50-megapixel sensor with an f/2.1 aperture. The Honor 100 series also features the Honor’s custom-made RF chip, the C1. This chip is supposed to be able to optimize cellular connection for better connectivity even in challenging scenarios.

The smartphone comes with a 5,000 mAh battery with support for fast charging leveraging Honor’s 100W Supercharge technology. The 100 series comes with MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13.

The Honor 100 Pro Brings Flagship Performance

Unveiled alongside its sibling, the Honor 100 Pro comes with a larger 6.78″ OLED display and the formidable Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The display has a 2,600 nit peak brightness and a Delta E of about 0.27.

The camera ensemble retains the 50-megapixel main and 12-megapixel ultrawide lenses but introduces a third sensor – a 32-megapixel sensor with 2.5x optical zoom and up to 50x digital zoom. Up front is a dual-camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX816 sensor with a TOF sensor.

Beyond raw power, the Honor 100 Pro champions convenience with 66W wireless charging in addition to Honor’s 100W Supercharge. A meticulously designed vapour chamber cooling solution ensures efficient heat dissipation, preventing overheating during intensive usage.
