365Robot: Transforming Singapore’s Food Services Industry with Versatile Robot Waiters

SINGAPORE, Aug. 4, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — The food services industry in Singapore is facing a growing challenge as it projects 40% of its jobs to require redesign in the next three years. To address this issue and streamline operations, businesses are seeking innovative solutions. Introducing 365Robot, a pioneering company that is set to revolutionize the food services sector with its advanced robot waiters, catering to the ever-evolving needs of the industry.

365Robot’s Robot Waiters: A Game-Changing Approach

With the introduction of 365Robot’s cutting-edge robot waiters, the food services industry in Singapore will experience a transformative shift. By deploying these robot waiters, restaurants can optimize their workforce and allow human staff to focus on delivering personalized customer experiences and upskilling for future challenges.

Benefits of Robot Waiters:

Enabling Personalized Service: With robot waiters handling repetitive tasks, human staff can dedicate more time to understanding and catering to customers’ unique preferences, creating a truly personalized dining experience.

Efficiency and Time Savings: Robot waiters are programmed to navigate crowded restaurant spaces efficiently, ensuring quicker order deliveries and reducing overall waiting time for patrons.

Autonomous Plate Collection: 365Robot’s robot waiters cruise through the restaurant, and customers can place used plates and glasses onto its tray. After a pre programmed time, the robot will go to the washing area, where staff can collect the dirty plates. Alternatively, staff in the washing area can press a ‘call’ button and the robot will return immediately.

Unmatched Versatility: These highly adaptable robots can seamlessly integrate with various restaurant layouts and service styles, providing versatility that suits any establishment.

Table tracking: Upon placing the order, customers receive a table tracker that can be placed on their table, allowing them to choose their seats without needing humans to direct them. These trackers inform robot waiters the precise location of the customers, and where to deliver orders to.  This way, staff can focus on other tasks, optimising resource allocation and improving overall service quality.

Selecting the right robot waiter for a restaurant is essential. Factors such as the restaurant’s specific needs and challenges, the robot’s capabilities, customization options, integration with existing systems, and cost-effectiveness play a crucial role. 365Robot’s experts work closely with clients to help them understand how the robot waiter’s features align with their goals and customer service strategy.

Customer Success Stories

365Robot’s robot waiters have already proven their mettle in renowned restaurants like HANS IM GLÜCK, SHATEC, and Sri Bistari. Marco Basile, the Managing Director of HANS IM GLÜCK, shares his experience with 365Robot:

GrubTech Raises $13 Million in Series A Funding Round

Founded in 2019 to address the F&B sector’s gap in technology solutions for modern operations, GrubTech’s all-encompassing software powers various functions including back of house, in kitchen operations, integrations with food aggregators and an omni-channel point of sale.

"Legacy technology in the F&B space hasn’t kept pace with the speed in which the sector is transforming. This results in a fragmented set of solutions that a restauranteur or cloud kitchen operator is forced to sift through and stitch up. Not only does this complicate their operation, but it also slows down their ability to expand. We fixed that with an easy to use, all in one stack that’s future proof," said Mohamed Al Fayed, GrubTech’s Co-Founder & CEO.

GrubTech’s restaurant management system enables its customers to operate more efficiently, provide a better experience for dine-in and online customers, and increase sales by effortlessly operating multiple brands from a single location. The all-in-one platform provides customers with unparalleled operational and sales data, allowing them to make more informed decisions on how they run their business and capitalize on growth opportunities.

GrubTech’s customers experience a doubling of sales per square meter through multi-tenanting across food platforms, and unlocks the creation and hosting of new brands using existing resources. The easily deployable software enables a 25% reduction in time from when an order is placed until it is delivered, and a 35% increase in margins by maximizing efficiency of fixed costs and wastage.

Omar Rifai, GrubTech’s Co-Founder and Chief Growth Officer added: "Consumers are demanding a technology enabled experience when engaging with their favorite F&B brands, whether it’s on premise, take out or online. GrubTech was built from the ground up to empower our clients to better serve their customers across multiple fronts."

Used by clients across 15 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe, GrubTech recently celebrated a milestone of processing 2 million orders. The company plans to use the funds to continue developing innovative solutions and further extend its reach into new markets.

Meituan Launches Green Tech Fund, and Other Initiatives on World Environment Day

HONG KONG, June 5, 2021 — Meituan (HKG: 3690) (the "Company"), China’s leading e-commerce platform for services, today announced the launch of the Meituan Green Tech Fund and a series of green initiatives to celebrate World Environment Day.

Meituan is allocating an initial amount of RMB 500 million for the Meituan Green Tech Fund to drive low-carbon green development together with industry organizations, researchers and scientists. In response to China’s carbon neutral efforts as a whole, this particular initiative aims to support the research and application of green technologies through charitable causes.

The United Nations has designated June 5th as World Environment Day, with this year’s theme: "Reimagine.Recreate.Restore." While this day has been celebrated since 1972, recent challenges caused by climate change and COVID-19 have brought environmental issues into focus with a greater sense of urgency. Meituan’s efforts strongly align with the United Nations’ goal of ecosystem restoration, and this new fund furthers the Company’s existing sustainability commitments.

The fund will focus on two initiatives, the Meituan Green Tech Award and a demonstration project. The Meituan Green Tech Award will support emerging researchers’ and scientists’ studies on fundamental technologies that support China’s low-carbon and circular development strategy. The demonstration project will encourage innovative applications in eco-friendly packaging, recycling, and smart supply chain operations.

This year, the Meituan Green Tech Award plans to support 10 researchers who focus on green and low-carbon packaging, carbon capture and utilization, low-carbon transport and energy storage studies, allocating a one million RMB award to each of them. The demonstration project will consist of 10 entities that deploy innovative applications in food delivery green packaging, plastics recycling, and big data supply chain developments, with a one to three million RMB fund designated for each of them.

Applications for both the tech award and the demonstration project will officially open for registration in late August, 2021.

Meituan is also launching a "carbon account" for its delivery merchants and users. Starting June 9th, merchants will be able to log and track their environmental protection efforts in their merchant app, including data on their reduction of disposable products and use of recycled packaging. Users can now track their carbon footprints in the Meituan app, by monitoring their "no-disposable cutlery" order history and eco-friendly transportation mileage data, which is accumulated through shared Meituan Bikes rides.

Meituan launched the Blue Mountain Project (青山计划) in August 2017 to drive sustainability efforts in the food delivery industry, bringing together merchants and users to participate in environmental protection initiatives. As part of its green life cycle management philosophy, Meituan Bikes recycles disposed polyurethane tires from its shared bikes and electric mopeds, using the material to build running tracks and sports grounds for people in remote areas. As of today, Meituan has created 10 such sports grounds in provinces such as Sichuan and Guizhou, benefiting over 5,000 students and residents. The Company plans to donate an additional 10 sports grounds by 2022.

The first-ever Pudu cat-like robot put to use at a Canadian restaurant

SHENZHEN, China, Feb. 5, 2021 — Pudu Robotics’ BellaBot has recently been introduced to Sushi Island, a restaurant in Canada, as the most stylish addition to the restaurant’s waiting staff during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This innovative robot server has been well received among the local community since its first day at the restaurant. A reporter from NTV visited the restaurant for an interview, and posted a video of how the robot worked there on Twitter, which got tens of thousands of views.

jwplayer.key=”3Fznr2BGJZtpwZmA+81lm048ks6+0NjLXyDdsO2YkfE=”

jwplayer(‘myplayer1’).setup({file: ‘https://mma.prnasia.com/media2/1433266/Robot_Video.mp4’, image: ‘http://www.prnasia.com/video_capture/3270531_CN70531_1.jpg’, autostart:’false’, aspectratio: ’16:9′, stretching : ‘fill’, width: ‘600’, height: ‘338’});

According to a worker at Sushi Island, the restaurant has experienced a sharp increase in its number of visits since BellaBot was adopted on January 17. The locals professed their love for the robot, and said that it was great to have her around for delivery.

BellaBot has been a great help in the restaurant’s effort to provide contact-less delivery during the COVID-19 outbreak. Manager at Sushi Island told the NTV reporter that no employees would be laid off because of BellaBot. She was introduced as a way to help servers, and make customers feel safer with less human contact during a pandemic.

Here is how BellaBot has been received by the locals.

"A few more jobs out the door"

"I bet no one lost their job for this but it provides better service experience to the customer, more business and more jobs."

"OMG! My kids watch Sam & Cat on Netflix and they have a restaurant with robot servers. This totally reminded me of that. My kids think this is super cool !"

"We were there on Saturday. Bella is a treat and was quite amusing to my children & myself. Way to go @sushiisland. Does not replace the human interaction at all, just allows for less physical contact."

"I am impressed. Can it sing?"

Employees at Sushi Island told Pudu Robotics that they posted a video showing the work of BellaBot on Facebook, and the popularity was unprecedented. As of January 24, only one week after BellaBot’s arrival, the video got 910 shares, 924 comments, and 433 likes, and these figures are still growing.

This cute, lovely robot cat is developed by Pudu Robotics, a world-leading provider of commercial robots. Notably, BellaBot is the one and only indoor delivery robot with a novel, cute cat face in Pudu’s robot family and even in the robotics industry. BellaBot is unique in that she is easier and more friendly to approach, both visually and tactilely, thanks to its multi-modal interaction that integrates visual, tactile, and auditory senses.

BellaBot can easily move, orient and navigate all by herself in highly dynamic and crowded environments. Equipped with intelligent induction trays, the robot can deliver food to 3 to 4 tables at a time. When she arrives at a table, the light strip beside the tray starts to flash, reminding the customers to pick up the food. After the food is taken off the tray, the light strip goes out, at which point the robot will move on to the next table.

In addition to the basic Delivery mode, BellaBot also comes with a Cruise mode, which is designed for the robot to move back and forth to deliver snacks or buffet food. In Cruise mode, the robot can walk around at the front door of the shopping center or the restaurant to help attract customers. BellaBot also offers a Birthday mode, in which she delivers birthday cakes accompanied by music blessings. Yes, she is also a singing robot!

– Baedal Minjok started an outdoor delivery robot service at “Gwanggyo Alley Way,” a multipurpose housing complex in Gwanggyo

– When orders are placed in restaurants within the plaza via Baemin application, the robot delivers to the ground floor of customer’s residence

– Delivery fee goes down thanks to the robot covering short distance delivery … less burden for customers and higher revenue for restaurant owners

SEOUL, South Korea, Aug. 18, 2020The service that allows delivery robots to come and go outdoor between restaurants and apartments to deliver food has become a reality for the first time in Korea. Woowa Brothers Corp. (CEO Bomjun Kim), the mother company that runs "Baedal Minjok" (hereinafter Baemin) stated on August 18 that the company has started a delivery service using self-driving outdoor delivery robot, "Dilly Drive," at "Gwanggyo Alley Way," a multipurpose housing complex in Gwanggyo, Suwon city.

Woowa Brothers Corp. (CEO Bomjun Kim), the mother company that runs "Baedal Minjok" (hereinafter Baemin) has started a delivery service using self-driving outdoor delivery robot, "Dilly Drive," at "Gwanggyo Alley Way," a multipurpose housing complex in Gwanggyo, Suwon city.

The outdoor delivery robot service newly introduced to Gwanggyo Alley Way can be used by anyone, including residents and visitors. 1,100 residents of apartments and studio flats in Gwanggyo Alley Way can choose the menu and make orders from the restaurants and cafes within the apartment complex by just opening their Baemin applications and scanning QR codes in their houses. Orders can also be made at the plaza within the complex, using QR codes placed on outdoor tables.

When there’s an order, the five Dilly drives at Gwanggyo Alley Way go from the station to the restaurant on its own. And once the restaurant staff places the food in Dilly Drive and press ‘go’ button, the robot starts the delivery. Customers can check the current location of Dilly Drive via Baemin application and get notifications 100m before and upon arrival. Customers can receive food either on the first floor of the building or at the designated outdoor table in the plaza.

The Dilly Drive at Gwanggyo Alley Way has evolved with a newly added remote control function, which the Dilly Drive used at the Konkuk University campus did not have. With its 6 wheels, Dilly Drive walks in the speed of 4~5 km per hour, which is the speed of a person walking. Once charged, it can run for more than 8 hours, and with its headlights, it can deliver at night as well. Dilly Drive can carry about 6 lunch boxes or 12 cups of beverages per delivery.

Woowa Brothers has prepared various safety measures to guarantee the safe driving of Dilly Drive. The company has thoroughly examined the road condition and travel route of the people in the complex, and set Dilly Drive to go slowly in parts where there usually are a lot of people or children. At crosswalks with a lot of cars, Dilly Drive comes to a stop, and its safety has been enhanced with the real time control via the video surveillance system installed at the apartment complex. For the first month of service, Dilly Drive will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the weekdays, and its hours of operation will gradually be extended.

It is a first time in Korea and not very common worldwide for a delivery robot to receive food from restaurants and deliver outdoors. There is a higher technological barrier for outdoor self-driving robots than for indoor robots. Outdoor self-driving robots have to detect the subtle movements of not only cars and bicycles but also children and companion animals, and can only be commercialized when they operate stably even on bumpy roads and ever-changing weather conditions.

In November 2019, Woowa Brothers has conducted a month-long pilot test in Konkuk University campus to commercialize Dilly Drive. At the time, Dilly Drive has carried out more than 2,000 deliveries and improved its service quality. And from last June, Woowa Brothers has been working together with SK Telecom to conduct tests to build the control system crucial to outdoor delivery robot service.

The outdoor delivery robot service via Dilly Drive is going to be a new source of income for restaurant and café owners. Until now, customers were reluctant to make close-range deliveries due to delivery fees. Since robots carry out close-range deliveries at half the existing delivery fee, owners can now expect new sales revenue.

Woowa Brothers plans to keep enhancing the technological standard of outdoor delivery robot. For now, Dilly Drive can self drive from the restaurant to the first floor of an apartment, but it will be able to deliver right to the door in the first half of 2021.

Joseph Kim, Head of Robot Business Development at Woowa Brother said, "Outdoor delivery robot service includes a lot more obstacles that interrupt the robot’s drive, such as the road surface, obstacles, the weather, unexpected events, and so on. It can be commercialized when sophisticated technology and service know-hows come together." He also added that "Woowa Brothers will continue the development of delivery robot service for advanced delivery ecosystem."

Woowa Brothers operate South Korea’s most favored food delivery platform, "Baedal Minjok." While the company ceaselessly works to innovate the food-tech industry through robotics technology, recently, it also launched ‘B Mart,’ a service that delivers groceries under 30 minutes, to expand its line of business. Since the company first launched the app in 2010, Woowa Brothers grew to attract 10 million monthly active users and accomplished KRW 8.7 trillion yearly transactions last year.
