It does not splinter in most crash circumstances due to its strong ductility. Skin contact applications are possible with Ultrasint® PA11 Black. Anycubic’s Photon Ultra, the New DLP 3D Printer, Launches on Kickstarter

High-precision printing

Although the specified resolution of this DLP printer Anycubic Photon Ultra is rated at 720p, its print quality is even better than that of 2k/4k monochrome LCD screen printers. This is because DLP printers use a different technology to project light compared to LCD printers. DLP printers use a projector that reflects all the light to a pixel via a micromirror, therefore, there is no light convergence, achieving crisper black-white contrasts. LCD printers converge all the light to a pixel, which can cause bumps and shadows on the edge of models. When displaying thin lines and small-size texts, DLP printers are clearer than LCD printers with purer colors and richer layers, resulting in more delicate texture and sharper corners of models.

Hänssler Group Achieves Great Reproducibility of ESD Performance and Dimensional Accuracy Using Kimya’s ABS-ESD on Ultimaker S5


UTRECHT, Netherlands, Aug. 10, 2021Ultimaker, the global leader in professional 3D printing, today announced that Hänssler Group, German experts in sealing technology, plastics technology and additive manufacturing, uses the Ultimaker S5 and Kimya‘s ABS-ESD to cost-effectively produce 300 highly accurate sealant parts annually with anti-electrostatic properties. These parts, designed to be integrated within an existing production line, provide thermal protection between two components within a machine. The optimized material printing profile combined with the Ultimaker S5, result in parts with minimal batch-to-batch dimensional variation and untouched ESD performance.

Surface defects impact ESD performance, which would inevitably alter the dissipation of charges. Therefore, Hänssler’s parts must be reproducible for both ESD behaviour and dimensional accuracy, in addition to meeting visual and integrity requirements. To assess the surface quality of the prints, engineers performed a high-resolution 3D scanning analysis on a select number of parts, using a GOM Atos Core 3D scanner. This showed relative deviations between the ideal CAD model and the printed part. A pass/no pass filter for dimensional accuracy with a threshold of 0.3mm, enabled Hänssler to create an optimized ABS-ESD printing profile to print parts on the Ultimaker S5 with minimal tolerance limits.

Adrian Heinrich, Marketing Manager at Hänssler: "Besides the opportunity to create accurate and more complex parts with 3D printing, we also reported a reduction in material waste in the range of -80% and -60% in cost per part versus our traditional milling techniques. The health and safety plan, Committed Community, was critical in bringing people together safely and, its elements were seen and felt everywhere. Approved by the Catalan Health Authorities, the plan was developed for the event and delivered in partnership with Quironprovencion. They administered thousands of tests and expertly cared for all involved. Attendees have been complimentary of the plan, and the GSMA is grateful for the cooperation of all who attended. We all played a role in creating a safe environment allowing us to be together for the first time in 15 months.

Special event highlights

Focus on the local entrepreneurial startup community was front and centre with the 4YFN (Four Years from Now) programme in the heart of MWC21. There was a genuine buzz, and 4YFN was a must-see space at the event. Returning MWC attendees were delighted to see and experience how Barcelona nurtures and encourages the startup ecosystem. 

The GSMA Ministerial Programme was the centre of policy debate. More than 650 senior policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, and government officials collaborated and exchanged views on digital inclusion, network resilience and maximising the potential of 5G. Against the backdrop of the pandemic, it has been more critical to convene the world’s political, regulatory and telecom leaders to discuss how digital connectivity is acting in the service of people whilst driving a robust recovery for the digital future.

Scheduled for 28 February – 3 March 2022, the organisation will now begin planning for MWC22. The dates for 2022 are a return to the traditional place on the calendar and will be in Barcelona.

EonStor GS Supports File-level SSD Cache to Accelerate Random File Access Performance

TAIPEI, June 25, 2021 — Infortrend® Technology, Inc. (TWSE: 2495), the industry-leading enterprise storage provider, adds SSD cache technology into EonStor GS (GS) unified storage to considerably accelerate file access performance in enterprise applications characterized by high number of random file access operations.

EonStor GS is an enterprise-class unified storage enabling enterprises to manage file-based (NAS) and block-based (SAN) storage in a single device. With redundant controller design, multiple RAID hard disk protection levels and PB-level storage capacity, enterprises won’t have to worry about insufficient storage capacity and data loss. GS now supports SSDs acting as cache on its NAS storage service to improve file access performance. By caching frequently used data on a high-speed storage medium, subsequent client requests for accessing enterprise data can be served more quickly.

GS with integrated SSD cache is an optimal solution for applications involving random access behavior, such as file sharing, email, as well as media editing. If several users simultaneously access files and the required data bits are not located in adjacent sectors, traditional mechanical HDDs cause a longer seek time, resulting in a higher I/O delay, which in turn reduces system performance and negatively effects user experience. Thanks to SSDs’ near-zero seek time advantage, GS’s SSD cache reduces I/O latency and improves IOPS performance. High-efficiency algorithms intelligently predict and cache commonly used small blocks of data and metadata, improving GS’s access performance to random access data and elevating user experience to the new level.
