MiniTool Released Partition Wizard 12.5 – Pro Platinum Added & Data Recovery Enhanced

VANCOUVER, BC, July 2, 2021 — MiniTool Software Ltd just released Partition Wizard 12.5. This is the first cumulative update since this year and the update contents include adding Pro Platinum Edition, Improving the accuracy of FAT32 partition data recovery, and fixing bugs appearing when copying BitLocker encrypted partitions.

To meet the diverse needs of users, MiniTool made a little adjustment on Partition Wizard edition distribution. The new Pro Platinum Edition is now available in this update, which brings all functions of Pro Ultimate Edition such as partition and data recovery, OS migration, bootable media, dynamic disk management, system disk and partition clone, etc. A big difference between the two editions is that the Pro Platinum can be used on 3 PCs while the perpetual license of Pro Ultimate Edition can be used on up to 5 PCs now.

FAT32 Partition Data Recovery Enhanced

MiniTool Partition Wizard allows users to recover data from FAT32, exFAT, and NTFS partitions. MiniTool Partition Wizard 12.5 improves the accuracy of FAT32 partition data recovery, helping users recover large files more accurately in FAT32 partition.

FAT32 partitions allow users to store files no larger than 4GB. Before this update, MiniTool Partition Wizard can occasionally fail to locate the cluster where a large file ends up with, resulting in data recovery failure occasionally. In the latest MiniTool Partition Wizard 12.5, the data recovery algorithm has been greatly improved, therefore the data recovery success rate is higher.

BitLocker Encrypted Partition Clone Bug Fix

MiniTool Partition Wizard allows users to clone partitions including BitLocker encrypted partitions. However, before this update, there are some bugs occurring when cloning BitLocker encrypted partitions, for example:

  • BitLocker encrypted partition clone fails without reasonable causes. This seldomly happens but does exist.
  • The new BitLocker encrypted partition size is not applied actually. MiniTool Partition Wizard allows users to copy and extend BitLocker encrypted partitions. But some users reported that after copying and extending a BitLocker encrypted partition, the Windows File Explorer shows that the new BitLocker encrypted partition has the same size as the original BitLocker partition.

Access Advance Launches VVC/H.266 Video Patent Pool

Includes innovative Multi-Codec Bridging Agreement that Provides Substantial Royalty Savings to Licensees in both the VVC and HEVC Advance Pools

BOSTON, July 1, 2021 — Building on the success of its HEVC Advance Patent Pool, Access Advance today announced the launch of the VVC Advance Patent Pool and the Multi-Codec Bridging Agreement ("MCBA"). VVC is the next generation video codec standard finalized less than one year ago, which provides significant improvements in video compression of up to 50% over HEVC, enabling a new generation of products, ever more beautiful video, faster downloads, and improved savings on storage.

The license structure of the new VVC Advance Pool mirrors that of the HEVC Advance Platform Pool License recently announced, with royalty rates and caps set at a modest 25% increase over the equivalent HEVC Advance License structure. Importantly, as requested by the marketplace, Licensees that have executed both the HEVC Advance and VVC Advance Platform Licenses will have the option to enjoy the benefits of the MCBA.  The MCBA is not a third license; it is an agreement that bridges the HEVC Advance and VVC Advance Platform Licenses.  Those Licensees who have executed all three agreements will enjoy a discounted royalty rate for their products that include both VVC and HEVC, paying the same royalty rate as they would pay for a product that includes only VVC, providing an effective 45% discount.

EcoFlow to Launch Industry-First Portable Home Battery on Kickstarter this July

The DELTA Pro ecosystem can meet up to one week’s of an average family’s emergency power needs

IRWINDALE, Calif., June 30, 2021EcoFlow, a portable power and renewable energy solutions company, announced today it will unveil the EcoFlow DELTA Pro portable home battery on Kickstarter on July 15. EonStor GS Supports File-level SSD Cache to Accelerate Random File Access Performance

TAIPEI, June 25, 2021 — Infortrend® Technology, Inc. (TWSE: 2495), the industry-leading enterprise storage provider, adds SSD cache technology into EonStor GS (GS) unified storage to considerably accelerate file access performance in enterprise applications characterized by high number of random file access operations.

EonStor GS is an enterprise-class unified storage enabling enterprises to manage file-based (NAS) and block-based (SAN) storage in a single device. With redundant controller design, multiple RAID hard disk protection levels and PB-level storage capacity, enterprises won’t have to worry about insufficient storage capacity and data loss. BKSTEC Aims to Replace Consumer-grade Copper Cables by Lowering Cost of Fiber Optics through Automation

Automation reduces production costs significantly
A group of engineers were determined to streamline the automation process and started the company, BKSTEC. Trial production begins in June of 2021 and phase one is expected to be completed by the end of 2022. The monthly capacity is expected to reach 50,000 units, and 250,000 units by 2023.

4DLive: a real-time, bullet-time, multi-view video streaming service, to be expanded to global 5G mobile communication services

SEOUL, South Korea, June 25, 2021 — Korea’s 5G mobile communication service, the first commercialized service of its kind in the world, recently celebrated its second anniversary.

Korea has already established itself in the global market as a successful example of establishment of a 5G infrastructure that is outstanding in both quality and breadth of coverage. 5G is expediting fundamental changes in the telecommunication service paradigm and revitalizing the industrial environment through large investments. As a means of overcoming the economic hardships caused by COVID-19 and making Korea a leader in the era of smart automation, the Korean government’s Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) is proactively creating a "virtuous cycle" 5G environment (in conjunction with the Digital New Deal). One part of the MSIT is Born2Global Centre, which has played a crucial role in this transition by connecting Korean startups with various opportunities worldwide.

4DREPLAY, a promising Korean startup that has been a member of the Born2Global Centre since 2017, manufactures special 4D technology. It is becoming noted as a global mobile communication service for its successful expansion of technologies and projects from Korean 5G-based sports content (professional baseball, golf, and so on).

In April 2019, 4DREPLAY began providing LG UPlus, a top-tier Korean mobile communication company, with 4DLive (a real-time, bullet-time, multi-view video streaming service) via mobile app. 4DLive is an immersive media technology that allows users to freely view videos on mobile devices.

SoftBank, which began providing 5G commercial services via 5G smartphone in March 2020, merged 5G and 4DLive with sporting events (e.g. baseball). 5G can send large quantities of data at ultra-fast speeds and is therefore used to broadcast sports videos in real-time while employing creative formats (free time point, multi-view, etc.)

4DREPLAY has also applied 4DLive to the 5G mobile communication services of Bell Canada, Canada’s largest telecommunications company. In March 2021, an ice hockey tournament between the Vancouver Canucks and Montreal Canadiens was broadcast on TSN/RDS using 4DLive. These sports networks are owned by Bell Canada and are ranked among Canada’s largest sports channels (alongside Rogers Media Group’s Sportsnet and TVA Sports) since the foundation of TSN in 1984. 4DLive is currently featured as the "TSN 5G View/Vision 5G RDS" function on TSN/RDS’s mobile app.

4DLive is a mobile-based, real-time, 360-degree video streaming service. Videos of a subject sent from the many cameras installed in a sports stadium (filmed from various angles) via 5G network can be edited by the viewer via 4DLive to be zoomed in or out at the desired angle, rewound, or replayed in real-time. This technology is hailed as providing a revolutionary, unmatched viewing experience that goes beyond passive video viewing in favor of enabling the viewer to control the movements of the subject on the screen from the desired angle and at the desired time.

4DREPLAY’s bullet-time camera technology, 4DReplay (which is also used in 4DLive), is currently available worldwide for sports and entertainment events. The 4DReplay technology, which is used especially frequently in real-time "highlight" scenes for sporting events, allows the user to view videos of the subject from any angle thanks to footage filmed by scores of special cameras. Filmed footage can be edited, without rendering, and sent within five seconds—a significant advantage that makes 4DREPLAY perfect for real-time broadcasts.
