Ortel Introduces Next Generation Laser Model for LiDAR and Optical Sensing


ALHAMBRA, Calif., March 15, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Expanding the options for optical sensing across C-Band wavelengths in applications that require wide temperature and humidity ranges, Ortel, a Photonics Foundries enterprise, announced Model 1786 1550 nm Laser Module for Optical Sensing. The 1786 laser was developed for use as a CW (Continuous Wavelength) coherent optical source for optical sensing systems.

The 1786 laser offers designers a narrow linewidth source with a wide range of output powers. The laser will achieve a maximum of 300 KHz of linewidth and will be offered in 40mW, 50mW and 63mW variants. The laser is packaged in an industry standard 14-pin butterfly package and comes coupled to an internal thermo-electric cooler (“TEC”) for applications that are exposed to wide temperature ranges and humidity. The 1786 laser is qualified to Telcordia GR-468 standards to ensure long term reliability and is a perfect complement to the already available 1790 high-powered coherent laser that features ultra-narrow linewidth below 100 KHz.

3D Printing Trailblazer ELEGOO Announces Initiative to Boost Women’s Roles in STEM

The advanced, new model integrates a dual outlet structure that delivers fast, optimized temperature control and gentle, indirect airflow that won’t leave users feeling chilly. Comfortable Air Flow
The air conditioner’s Soft Air function, created in response to consumer feedback, lets users enjoy customized cooling and a soothing, indirect breeze. When the function is activated, the lower vane closes so that air is discharged through the front-facing outlet only. Rather than being directed at sitting or standing height, the airflow moves downward from the ceiling for a gentler, more refreshing cooling experience.

Hanvon Technology Launches Groundbreaking Fourth-Generation BP Meter Based on Korotkoff Sound Method

A World Health Organization report highlights that a third of the global adult population suffers from hypertension, with nearly half undiagnosed due to inadequate blood pressure meters, posing significant health risks.

The Korotkoff sound method, developed by Russian physician Nikolai Korotkoff in 1905. Place a stethoscope at the underpart of the cuff; increase the cuff pressure to block blood; hear the impact sound of blood against the blood vessels (that is the Korotkoff sound) through the stethoscope during the cuff pressure drops to measure the blood pressure. Korotkoff sound method is considered as the gold standard of NIBP. However, its use is declined due to complexity and mercury risks. Most current electronic BP Meters use the oscillometric method to estimate blood pressure with oscillatory wave, which have big deviation.

Hanvon’s BP Meter bases on the Korotkoff sound method,uses proprietary pressure and piezoelectric sensors to accurately detect arterial position and sound wave changes from blood flow, utilizing a neural network-based deep learning model for precise systolic and diastolic pressure measurements and automatic categorization of blood pressure characteristics for personalized management.
