CNN’s ‘Going Green’ meets the game-changers who reveal the light bulb moments that led to a green revolution

HONG KONG, Dec. 15, 2020 — Across the globe, people are working tirelessly on innovations to solve some of the biggest environmental challenges we face. This month, in a 30-minute special, CNN’s ‘Going Green’ meets the experts leading a green revolution in everything from organic farming to species conservation.

CNN’s ‘Going Green’ meets the game-changers who reveal the light bulb moments that led to a green revolution

When Wesley Oxenham returned to his home country of Mauritius, he knew he wanted to give back to the community. He created ‘Farm City’, empowering locals to grow their own organic food and teaching children about ecology, environment and farming. The small social enterprise has proven so successful he is now expanding the idea, setting up a second farm in Singapore.

Pangolins are among the most heavily poached animals on earth, facing a threat so large they could be pushed to the brink of extinction soon. CNN learns about the ongoing efforts to rescue and rehabilitate abused and trafficked pangolins in South Africa, and hears from Ray Jansen, chairman of the African Pangolin Working Group, about the need for a collective humanitarian effort to save them.

David Milarch is on a mission to save the largest organisms the world has ever known: redwood trees. They can grow to over 115 meters tall and can live for over two millennia – but persistent logging and the mounting effects of climate change have now put the future survival of these trees in jeopardy. Milarch and his army of volunteers around the world are working to clone and propagate new redwoods in the hopes of saving them for many generations to come.

South Africa has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, but it is also ranked as one of the planet’s worst plastic marine polluters – creating an environmental crisis on its shoreline. CNN meets conservationist Aaniyah Omardien, who founded a volunteer-based beach co-op to clean popular beaches. She has teamed up with Peter Ryan, an ornithologist and leading researcher on marine plastic waste, to investigate the origins of the plastic pollution they find.

Beyond Hong Kong’s world-famous skyline lies miles of lush tropical forests and mountain jungles – but this wasn’t always the case. Around 40 years ago the city launched an aggressive reforestation program to prevent erosion and beautify the city’s mountain landscapes. CNN meets one of the local pioneers of conservation, Gunter Fischer, who continues to lead the charge to green Hong Kong through an ecological restoration project.

The platform symbolizes the latest development of strategic relationships between OneConnect and ADGM to build a comprehensive digital financial and business services ecosystem. LiveMolo to Launch a Streaming Service App ‘Molo’ Equipped with a Commerce Function This December

– Live streaming service startup ‘LiveMolo’ to launch a streaming service app ‘Molo,’ which is equipped with a live commerce’ function, on Google Play Store this December

SEONGNAM, South Korea, Dec. 11, 2020LiveMolo (CEO Ho-sik Yang), a tenant company in the ICT-Cultural Convergence Center run by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), announced that it plans to launch streaming service app ‘Molo’ built-in with a commerce function on Google Play Store at the end of this December.

Established in 2018 to become a streaming service for one-person media, LiveMolo provides services to common people who dream of running a small business, small business owners, and unknown creators and influencers. It was certified as a venture business in 2019, and it was also recognized as a company-affiliated research institute by the Korea Industrial Technology Association this September.

The streaming service app ‘Molo’ to be released this time is equipped with a live commerce function that allows viewers to purchase products directly beyond live streaming. It has improved accessibility for small businesses and the general public without special skills and capital to use it easily.

Molo is capable of low-latency live broadcasting and real-time chat, and the VoD automatically generated after the broadcast ends can be shared on social media linked with Molo app. In addition, it is composed of a relatively simple UI/UX to enhance the convenience of use for hosts and viewers.

Molo has also differentiated itself in term of operation. Since most live commerce services charge a high fee, hurdles are high for common people and small business owners who start live commerce for the first time. However, Molo has relatively less burden because it is operated with minimal fees.

CEO Ho-shik Yang said, "Molo will build an ecosystem where small business owners, creators, and the general public can directly communicate with viewers, promote and earn profits. We also plan to implement a web-based platform so people can use Molo not only on the app but also on the web."

Ombori and Bambuser Enter Strategic Partnership for Digital Omnichannel Experiences – Launching Virtual Queuing System

Partnership combines live streaming with seamless display and mobile experiences in public environments to delight visitors and build relationships with brands

STOCKHOLM, Dec. 11, 2020 — Interactive live shopping provider Bambuser and interactive retail technology company Ombori today announce a strategic partnership to jointly launch the next generation of digital store experiences.

For several years, retail has faced new challenges and changed at a rapid pace. As a consequence of the ongoing pandemic, that pace of change has increased dramatically, exposing today’s retailers to the immediate need to transform their stores for imminent consumer needs, behavioral changes, and trends.

Ombori Grid is a platform that powers digital experiences in physical spaces by offering ready-to-use, customizable, modular solutions for interactive screens and mobile devices in-store. One-to-One is a SaaS solution and part of Bambuser’s Live Video Shopping suite that allows retailers to offer highly-personal live streaming interactions with experts from across store locations to shoppers directly via mobile, tablet, or computer.

Ombori and Bambuser have today teamed up to offer the next generation of innovative solutions to support retailers in their ambitions of creating seamless omnichannel experiences. The new partnership combines Ombori’s re-usable architecture’s strength and flexibility that bridges Cognitive Services, IoT, Mobile Phones, and Digital Signage with Bambuser’s proprietary live streaming solutions.

By using Omni-queue, the store staff can handle a combination of physical and online visitors in the same queue, which creates efficient use of staff resources. At the same time, a visitor can easily be switched to an online specialist in a different location (eg, in another store or working remotely) to give them the best possible service. The companies’ first joint customer is Kjell & Company, one of Scandinavia’s leading consumer electronics retailers.

Andreas Hassellöf, CEO of Ombori, said, "Together with Bambuser, we will offer the market’s most efficient omnichannel solution for gaining and retaining customers. The entire workflow will be automated, which creates a friction-free process and a clear overview of the workload throughout the chain. This leads to more productivity, increased customer satisfaction, and hence profitability."

Maryam Ghahremani, CEO of Bambuser, said, "By integrating our technology with Ombori, the retailer will have an easy-to-use system that the staff uses. They just need to `call on the next customer,’ and the system selects the right visitor, whether it is a digital ticket, a paper ticket, or a pre-booked visit. The connection between Ombori and Bambuser is super strong because then the employee can work in the same queuing system, regardless of whether it is a physical customer visit or an online visit."

Martin Knutson, CTO of Kjell & Company, said, "We always strive to create the best possible experience for our customers. Together with Bambuser and Ombori, we will transform our online queue system into a new central Omni-queue. We look forward to having all our customer interactions regardless of channel in a customized and streamlined system where all our resources, online and offline, can build and support each other."

Bambuser, Ombori, and Kjell & Company will make a joint appearance at Ombori’s Special Event today at 5 PM CET (8 AM PT, 11 AM ET) that will be broadcasted here: https://youtu.be/Y_EpQ8B2OKk
