Angry Miao releases its next-generation product in the CYBERBOARD series – “CYBERBOARD Le Smoking”

ZHUHAI, China, May 28, 2021Angry Miao officially released its next-generation product in the CYBERBOARD series – "CYBERBOARD Le Smoking" on May 27, 2021. Not only has it been fully upgraded in terms of performance and design, it also took a large part of its inspiration from the matte and glossy elements from Yves Saint Laurent’s Le Smoking suit. Once again, Angry Miao presents a truly unique keyboard that breaks through the limitations of current manufacturing technology. The official retail price is 670 USD & 580 USD.

CYBERBOARD R2 Le Smoking
CYBERBOARD R2 Le Smoking

With regard to the bold design of this keyboard, Angry Miao founder Li Nan mentioned in an interview that "A good design is impossible without considering the cultural context behind the product. High-end fashion brands often inspire design trends within the consumer electronics industry. By paying homage to Saint Laurent and Hedi Slimane, we hope to take a leading role in moving the consumer electronics industry forward when it comes to design trends."

Matte and glossy design, a salute to Le Smoking by Hedi Slimane

CYBERBOARD R2 is inspired by the classic Saint Laurent Le Smoking suit, symbolizing the independent spirit of women. In the era of Hedi Silmane, with his signature slim cut, metal chain and Chelsea boots, Le Smoking gained popularity among men once again. The cool all-black design, with its contrast between matte and glossy materials, presents abundant texture and details, presenting a rebellious rock & roll spirit.

CYBERBOARD Le Smoking comes in three matte and glossy color combinations: Jet Black, Psychedelic and Meteor Grey. All three evoke a tough, psychedelic look. The aluminum ingot frame on the front of the keyboard is formed through CNC machining, sandblasting, and several other complex polishing processes. Finally coated by a PVD vacuum furnace (the Meteor Grey variant is anodized), and a bright and shiny mirror-like surface is the end result.

On the sides, a precise, layered matte spraying process is used to create an advanced yet low-key matte texture, perfectly contrasting with the front. This combination of glossy and matte is a true homage to Le Smoking’s cross-generational design and appeal.

CYBERBOARD Le Smoking’s shiny matte surface is made of 100% aluminum alloy; a world-first in the computer electronics industry. Sandblasting and mirror polishing is used to ensure the feel and uniformity of the matte surface. Achieving a bright mirror-like effect is a true test for any part of the production process. With current manufacturing limitations, it is not yet 100% perfect. Therefore, there may still be small defects such as small white spots and minor color differences on the bottom of the shell. The all-new PVD direct plating process brings an unprecedented shiny mirror experience, but at the same time also may bring some subtle issues that might slightly affect the overall experience.

Gasket Mount: a transcendental feel and sound

In addition to its incredible color design, CYBERBOARD Le Smoking’s Gasket Mount is another true highlight. The upgraded Gasket Mount gives a better sound and feel to CYBERBOARD. It makes typing a graceful duet between you and your keyboard.

The new positioning plate has also been optimized and improved in several ways. Together with the hollowed out leaf spring-like structure, we have reduced the resonance and improved the spring action; making for a satisfying sound and resulting in a wondrous typing experience.

Le Smoking allows you to choose between four different plate materials, including Black Aluminum Plate (default), Psychedelic PVD Brass, Golden Black FR-4, and 1.5mm Translucent PC. Multiple choices for OGs like yourself.

DIY fun with new lighting effects

Besides brand-new design and upgraded gasket, the DIY lighting effects have also been significantly upgraded.

Le Smoking’s LED effect slots have jumped from one to three, providing you with greater creative flexibility. In addition, an in-switch lighting function has been added. Newly upgraded RGB hardware and 256-level DC dimming allows for a higher refresh rate and stronger color reproduction, giving you more DIY fun with every tap.

This upgrade removes the physical dual-mode switch and instead implements seamless switching between Bluetooth and wireless modes. For European users, a soldering PCB is also available as an additional option, providing greater versatility for users using an ISO layout.

Even more surprises: all-new keycaps and cyan-colored CYBERCOIN

In addition to the CYBERBOARD Le Smoking, Angry Miao is also launching the all-new Angry Miao 021C keycap set, Time Machine artisan keycap, The Chimney Cat artisan keycap (AFS) and a cyan-colored CYBERCOIN. These new accessories give users even more choices to match their setup perfectly.

CyberPurify makes the world’s first online content filtering in realtime

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 22, 2021 — CyberPurify, a startup specializing in using Machine Learning to identify harmful content, has just launched a free solution called CyberPurify Kids to help parents around the globe create a safe online environment for their kids in just a few clicks.

Binh Nguyen_CyberPurify
Binh Nguyen_CyberPurify

Demands for such content filtering for kids continue to rise as with the growth of 5G, smartphones and social networks, there are 4.66 billion Internet users in the world, on average, each person generates 1.7 GB of data per day, equivalent to 2,000 photos or 150 videos, and it will continue to increase in the future, leading to massive content needs to be moderated before it reaches large children.

Among them, harmful content is so pervasive that 11 is the average age that kids have come across pornography, some are as young as 7 or 8. More than 60% of 11 to 13-year-olds are unintentionally exposed to pornography online, most of which describe the feeling as "awful" and "confused", causing the most negative feelings, especially for children under 10.*

The period under 10 is when children interact and explore with the outside world, so they are easy to imitate and be influenced by negative factors. Harmful content such as accident images, gore, animal abuse, violence, and especially pornography can make children uncomfortable, confused, and obsessive in the future.

In terms of pornography alone, they are not only in the form of websites but also images/videos/advertisements appearing on online gaming sites, social networks, forums, group chats, etc.

That’s why CyberPurify comes into play. The product runs a deep learning model on the browser to identify and blur 15 types of harmful content, including pornographic, horrifying, drugs and alcohol, hate speech content.

Parents shouldn’t and don’t need to over-monitor what kids do online

"Invading children’s privacy by monitoring what they do, what they see will negatively affect their personalities and family relationship. In the past, parents faced a dilemma of letting their kids be harmed by cyber dangers, or seriously invading their private spaces with traditional nanny software," said Binh Nguyen, founder & CEO, also a dad with two children.

"We focus on building an AI model that enhances the identification and classification of harmful content, redefining the concept of child safety by using AI in real-time recognition even when the content is not displayed. It is as if you have given your child a loyal guardian who does not judge or scrutinize the private life, it will be a true companion to each child in the journey of discovering the Internet," he added.

Using the product is simple. Parents just install CyberPurify Kids in the store containing the browser extension/add-on. Every time their child accesses the Internet, CyberPurify will automatically analyze the displayed content, blur it if it is harmful, or send a report to parents when detecting that a child learns about drugs or substances. When the child tries to remove this filter, the parents will also be notified.

CyberPurify is like a child

"The special thing about CyberPurify Kids is that it is like a child, constantly learning more harmful content it discovers every day to become smarter, preventing content in the future. This is the world’s first product running on a browser that can recognize almost all kinds of harmful content that exist on the Internet," Mr. Binh added.

Along with running CyberPurify, Mr. Binh was the founder and CEO of Applancer TopDev invested by SaraminHR, a company listed on KOSDAQ in Korea.

"At the beginning of 2021, I left Applancer TopDev to focus all my time on developing CyberPurify Kids because the right time has come, most browsers support running AI and this is the perfect time for us to bring a strong identity on the server to the browser, serve more people," Mr. Binh said.

Mr. Binh is also widely known as a pioneer in the application of AI to identify pornography called KillPorn, which has been widely used in net rooms and homes since 2007. After achieving an award from the "Vietnamese Talent Award", he gave a license as a gift to VNPT so VNPT can provide the service to the Internet subscribers of this network operator under the name MegaKillPorn.

In the past, CyberPurify provided B2B services to digital content providers/ platforms as a human replacement tool for automatic content censorship for user-generated content. It is currently processing over 10 million images and video content per day, equivalent to 20,000 workers.

According to the representative, besides 15 types of content (pornography, horrifying, drugs/alcohol and hate speech), CyberPurify Kids also prevents malware, scamming sites and viruses.

CyberPurify is one of 5 winning startups at AI Accelerator Challenge 2021 (AAC 2021) powered by the Vietnam Ministry of Science & Technology and Australian’s Government.

CyberPurify Kids is provided for free to schools, labs, internet cafes or places with public computers. It is available as an extension/ add-on on browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox and Safari. Advanced features include sending statistical reports to parents for $9/ month, and $99/ year.

Slovenia: Europe’s Most Exciting New Culinary Capital

As the new video showcases, the unique advantage of Slovenian chefs is their privileged access to local ingredients. Slovenian culinary philosophy is based on the principle ‘from the garden to table’ and this is reflected in the close relationships between chefs and local producers, as well as the deep connections between Slovenian landscapes and traditional culinary experiences.

A unique insight into Slovenian gastronomy

Through the video, viewers will get to know the character and life of all six owners of a coveted Michelin star (Hiša Franko, two Michelin star Restaurant,  Hiša Denk, Atelje Restaurant, Vila Podvin, Dam Restaurant and Gostilna pri Lojzetu, all one Michelin star Restaurants), and explore how their relationships with local producers help define and inspire their world class culinary creations. Chefs Ana Roš, Gregor Vračko, Jorg Zupan, Uroš Štefelin, Uroš Fakuč and Tomaž Kavčič are all presented in the video with the opportunity for viewers to share their vision, dedicated work, passion and love for food and the environment.

Of course, no video about Slovenia would be complete without a look at the unspoiled nature and environment that helps create such a variety of unique local ingredients. It also includes a look at Slovenia’s award-winning winemakers, who are now being recognised by experts such as Decanter magazine as some of the best in the world.

OPPO among the firsts to release ColorOS Developer Preview based on Android 12 on Find X3 Pro

OPPO is working closely with Google to upgrade software experience.

SHENZHEN, China, May 19, 2021 — Leading global smart device brand OPPO today launched Android 12 Beta 1 on its flagship smartphone – Find X3 Pro, making it one of the first handset makers to launch Android 12 Developer Preview Program at the Google I/O Developer Conference 2021.

This year, Android 12 focuses on system UI as well as security and privacy, which will be the main principles for ColorOS as well. To help consumers better express themselves, OPPO is working to make ColorOS more intuitive and a system that allows more personalizations from users, especially in terms of UI and UX. The company is also making efforts to give users more control and transparency regarding data security and privacy.[i]

OPPO believes that prosperity of the Android ecosystem will lead to long-term success of the company and the industry. Last year, OPPO was one of the first brands to launch Android 11, regardless of the pandemic outbreak and difficulties in internal de-coupling. A variety of customized functions including Three Finger Screenshot, FlexDrop were added to the system to provide faster and more user-friendly experiences to developers and users.

"We are glad to have Google as a long-term partner as we have had successful collaborations over the years, including working together to guarantee ColorOS keeps up with the latest version of Android," Andy Wu, Vice President and President of Software Engineering Business Unit said. "Currently we have close to 400 million monthly active users of ColorOS around the world. With Android 12, we will continue our momentum to provide developers and users the most vibrant experience."

Polished experience and better performance

Following the announcement of Android 12 Developer Preview Program, OPPO unveils Android 12 Beta 1 on OPPO Find X3 Pro, allowing developers worldwide to explore the latest software updates. Android 12 continues to put privacy and security at the core, while featuring a more personalized experience and improved performance.

Android 12 is designed to give users more transparency and control by allowing users to give only their approximate location to apps, block the use of camera and microphone in quick settings, and put inactive applications that have not been used for over 90 days in hibernation, and more.

Key updates on the user experience side include more compatibility with multimedia formats and support for more content insertion. The system has also been improved in UI details, featuring new functional bars and updated operating modes. There is good news for gamers as well. In Android 12, apps are able to provide audio-coupled haptic feedback through the phone’s vibrations.

Deepening collaborations with Android to allow more customizations

As part of OPPO’s long-term global business strategy, the company is continuously deepening its collaborations with Android to bring more innovative and customized experiences to its users and developers.

Looking ahead to a smarter 5G era, OPPO and Android work together towards extending mobile experiences and services to more existing and potential users. To enable better intelligent connectivity, OPPO will continue to work with developers and partners globally to explore an open and integrated ecosystem and create a more intelligent and connected world.

Developers in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Chinese mainland and Taiwan markets are encouraged to download the latest system via the OPPO open platform starting from May 19. Please kindly note that this is the early preview version for developers to do compatibility testing and early development, which will include bugs that may affect daily use. We therefore do not recommend non-developers to try this update. Please stay tuned for the consumer version.

[i] Please note that the ColorOS Developer Preview version will not include all customized updates yet.
