Dattel to Uplift 10,000 Businesses in Malaysia with RM 50 Million Data Fund

PETALING JAYA, Malaysia, Nov. 25, 2020 — Dattel Asia Group, a leading consumer data & analytics company in ASEAN, has recently launched UPLIFT Malaysia – an initiative to empower 10,000 businesses with actionable insights on the latest consumer behaviour through a RM 50 million data fund. This initiative aims to help individuals who have lost job or businesses that are being impacted by the recent economic downturn to recuperate sustainably.

We aspire to uplift 10,000 companies and nurture business communities that are more #celikdata in the country. For you to have a competitive edge in business, you need a reliable source of data that continuously gives you new perspectives of the market. Ashran Dato’ Ghazi Chief Executive Officer, Dattel Asia

One of the inspirations for UPLIFT was when the CEO of Dattel Asia, Ashran Dato’ Ghazi, met many entrepreneurs struggling with the abrupt shift in consumers’ behaviour due to COVID-19 outbreak. The behavioural shifts caused many consumer-facing businesses uncertain about how, or even if, they should respond to the changes. With so many changes happening at an unprecedented rate, companies do not have the necessary insights that are up-to-date and comprehensive for them to pivot their business or marketing strategy.

To address this, Dattel Asia has partnered with several powerhouses in the industry to launch UPLIFT Malaysia. The primary goal of this initiative is to ensure that businesses in Malaysia have the necessary access to accurate data which are usually made available only to large companies.

Among the industry players that have joined forces with Dattel Asia for UPLIFT Malaysia are BAC Education Group, Transcosmos Malaysia and ZBRA Business Research & Analytics. Also, UPLIFT has gained the support of Institut Keusahawanan Negara (INSKEN), Owners Circle and Kementerian Pembangunan Usahawan dan Koperasi (MEDAC). Dattel Asia hopes more industry players will come forward and contribute to the initiative.

Applications for UPLIFT data fund are open to any individuals or companies, especially those interested in consumer-facing business such as retail, fashion, F&B, fitness, beauty, health or snacks. Upon review, successful applicants will receive access to consumer data & training package worth RM 5,000 and weekly updates on consumers’ COVID-19 sentiment and behaviours.

The access to the consumer data & training package is only limited to the first 10,000 eligible applicants. Those who are interested can visit the UPLIFT Malaysia webpage at upliftmy.dattel.asia for more details and apply for the data fund now.

Winners Of The 2021 Breakthrough Prizes In Life Sciences, Fundamental Physics And Mathematics Announced

A Total of $18.75 Million Awarded For Advances on the Deepest Questions

Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences Awarded to David Baker, Catherine Dulac, Dennis Lo, Richard Youle

Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics Awarded to Martin Hairer

Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics Awarded to Eric Adelberger, Jens Gundlach, Blayne Heckel

Six New Horizons Prizes Awarded for Early-Career Achievements in Physics and Math

Three Inaugural Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prizes Awarded to Women Mathematicians for Early-Career Achievements – Number of Prizes Increased Due to Popular Interest

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 10, 2020 — The Breakthrough Prize Foundation today announced the esteemed recipients of the 2021 Breakthrough Prize, recognizing a spectacular array of groundbreaking achievements in the Life Sciences, Fundamental Physics and Mathematics. Each year, the Prize is celebrated at a gala award ceremony, where the awards are presented by superstars of movies, music, sports and tech entrepreneurship. Due to the global pandemic, however, this year’s ceremony has been postponed until March 2021.

At a time when the importance of scientific achievement resounds around the world with more urgency than ever, the Breakthrough Prize continues its nine-year tradition of honoring the most profound and transformative discoveries, celebrating both established researchers (Breakthrough Prize) as well as early-career scientists (New Horizons Prize and – for the first time this year – Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize).

In total for this year, the Breakthrough Prize is awarding a collective $18.75 million in support of scientists working on the biggest and most fundamental questions. Science’s largest prize, the Breakthrough Prize has honored more researchers with monetary awards than any other science prize, with more than $250 million being awarded to almost 3000 leading scientists since 2012. The Prize is intended to help scientific leaders gain freedom from financial constraints to focus fully on the world of ideas; to raise the profile and prestige of basic science and mathematics, fomenting a culture in which intellectual pursuits are validated; and to inspire the next generation of researchers to follow the lead of these extraordinary scientific role models.

This year’s Breakthrough Prize winners form a diverse group. They’ve invented tools to unravel the protein folding problem and design entirely novel proteins (including some that could neutralize Covid-19); built exquisitely sensitive table-top instruments to probe the mysteries of dark energy and put Einstein’s theory to the test; developed noninvasive genetic fetal screening tests used by millions of prospective parents worldwide; mapped the neural pathways governing parenting behavior to the level of specific brain cells; revealed and elaborated a cellular pathway heavily implicated in hereditary Parkinson’s disease; and cracked equations describing random processes, from fluctuating stock prices to the motion of sugar in a cup of tea. Each Breakthrough Prize is worth $3 million.

Six New Horizons Prizes of $100,000 each were shared among twelve early-career scientists and mathematicians who have already made a substantial impact on their fields. And three inaugural Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prizes were awarded to early-career women mathematicians – the number of awards increased from one to three due to the intense interest generated by the Prize and the extremely high quality of nominations. The Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize was established in 2019 and named for the famed Iranian mathematician, Fields Medalist and Stanford professor who passed away in 2017. During her exceptionally prolific career, Mirzakhani made groundbreaking contributions to the theory of moduli spaces of Riemann surfaces. Each year, the $50,000 New Frontiers Prize award is presented to women mathematicians who have completed their PhDs within the past two years.

"We are happy to join hands with a powerful platform like Kuaishou and find that more people are aware of the protection of wild Siberian tigers and even the global wild tigers," added Liu.

"In traditional Chinese culture, the tiger is considered the king of all beasts, symbolizing power, justice, and protection," explained Qi Hang, regional cooperation director of Kuaishou. "As tigers are experiencing unprecedented threats due to illegal trade in tiger parts, we team up with WWF and intangible cultural heritage craftsmen, calling on the public to protect the natural environment and refuse consumption of tiger products."

Mexico Telecommunication Giant, Alestra, Deploys Bright Pattern Contact Center Software for CENACED’s Telehealth Services During COVID-19

Alestra, deploys Bright Pattern Contact Center for nonprofit, CENACED, to offer remote psychological teleassistance services during the pandemic

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, California, July 15, 2020 — CENACED, a non-profit healthcare organization, has deployed Bright Pattern as their cloud-based contact center software provider amid the COVID-19 pandemic. CENACED uses Bright Pattern to offer free telehealth services to help citizens in Mexico dealing with stress during the quarantine. They have also moved agents and counselors to a remote model to protect the safety of their employees during the pandemic.

A recent poll by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that the pandemic has negatively affected the mental health of 56 percent of adults. In April, texts to a US federal emergency mental-health line were up 1,000 percent from the year before. The situation is particularly dire for certain vulnerable groups—health-care workers, COVID-19 patients with severe cases, and people who have lost loved ones. CENACED is working with Bright Pattern, Alestra, and Bright Pattern partner, Call It Once, to bring telehealth counseling services to impacted people in Mexico to help people deal with the current health crisis.

CENACED offers free psychological telecare to people who have symptoms of stress derived from quarantine and with Bright Pattern’s virtual call center technology are now handling 120 cases per hour and serving almost 50,000 people per month. Alestra, Bright Pattern, and Call It Once joined CENACED in this critical initiative, enabling a teleassistance contact center in the cloud as shown in this video showing the solution in action. Per CENACED this cloud contact center was deployed in “record time” and is “a technology initiative that changes lives”:

“Bright Pattern has helped global companies during the pandemic by providing a 100% virtual platform allowing customers to seamlessly transition to remote teams,” said Michael McCloskey, CEO of Bright Pattern. “Countries in both Asia and Europe have also used Bright Pattern to help with COVID contact tracing but this is the first Bright Pattern powered contact center that is helping offer telehealth services during the pandemic as well.”

“Today, the world is facing challenging times. People and companies are taking the lead in collaborating in a more personalized way leveraging innovative technology,” said Ana Llano, Regional Manager, Latin America, Bright Pattern. “With our help, CENACED was able to deploy a hybrid contact center with onsite and remote agents quickly thanks to the ease-of-use of the Bright Pattern platform. Agents were ready to provide personalized virtual counseling services and psychological teleassistance to Mexican citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic. At Bright Pattern, we are proud to collaborate with our partners and help CENACED with this innovative use of technology focused on helping people and keeping agents safe at home.”
