The agreement will see Kuaishou take on several designations, including Formula E’s exclusive short-video content partner, exclusive live streaming short-video platform, and official promotional partner.

Kuaishou is China’s leading short video platform with over 300 million daily active users browsing a user-generated content archive of over 20 billion videos, according to the data announced by the company in January 2020.

Under the collaboration with Formula E, more exclusive content including race highlights, behind-the-scenes footage and driver profiles will be created on Kuaishou.

Kuaishou and Formula E said they will also be exploring jointly-created events, live streams, and the use of ‘multi-channel networks’ to attract a broader audience to the race series.

"We are glad to establish such win-win strategic cooperation with Formula E and looking forward to see Kuaishou’s coverage and penetration in China to effectively help global IPs such as Formula E to expand their brand influence in China," said Yan Qiang, senior vice-president of Kuaishou.

The video archive of the Kuaishou app has 35 categories of sports content, including basketball, football, table tennis, motorsport, as well as activities such as fishing, skateboarding and parkour. There are over 40,000 high-quality sports video creators and more than 1.2 billion sports activity browsers on the platform.

ShopSave–to Build “Buy to Save, Share to Earn” Social E-commerce Cashback Platform

GUANGZHOU, China, July 17, 2020In 2020, ShopSave, the newest social sharing-oriented shopping guide e-commerce platform went live. It was launched by Ruiku Information Technology Co., Ltd. Terry Wang, CEO, says: "ShopSave seeks to satisfy consumer’s demand for cost-effective branded and high-quality products and strives to build Buy to Save, Share to Earne-commerce ecosystem,  in order to promote the optimization and upgrading of the mobile e-commerce industrial structure".

ShopSave brings huge amount of products with super discounts, high cashback and high commissions, so that you can save money and make money just by moving your finger! (Screenshot of interface of ShopSave APP)
ShopSave brings huge amount of products with super discounts, high cashback and high commissions, so that you can save money and make money just by moving your finger! (Screenshot of interface of ShopSave APP)

Nowadays, the cost of traditional e-commerce customer acquisition is high, and the underlying purchasing power cannot be activated, but the network information channels are becoming more abundant, the trading information is becoming more symmetric and transparent. People begin to realize the limitations of traditional traffic channels, and the interest to flow of the Social platform users is rapidly increasing.

As AliExpress’s official cooperative cashback platform, ShopSave will immediately release the latest hidden coupons, as long as any of AliExpress’s products have promotions, and any user who downloads ShopSave can use it to buy the same product at a lower price. The certain percentage from the amount of money spent by user will be returned to them as a cashback, so they can withdraw it periodically. It is worth mentioning that the process of obtaining coupons from ShopSave is highly convenient. User only has to copy the link of the product he wants to buy on AliExpress and open ShopSave to automatically paste the searched coupon.

Exposure through advertising and improving ranks is no longer the only way for e-commerce to acquire customers, so getting more traffic through social channels has become another competition point for e-commerce merchants. Merchants are joining the promotional cashback activities, and ShopSave shares the most of this promotional commission to user, which is helping user to get more benefits and increasing the activity of their APP and users’ participation at the same time.

When user shares the goods with others to buy through ShopSave, it is equivalent to helping the merchant to promote their products, so the commission is the promotion fee paid to the user. In other words, the more they share, the more commissions they get. In order to involve more users, ShopSave provides an additional opportunity for each user to start their own business with 0 costs. The user invites others to register as members of ShopSave. Every time one of these persons makes a purchase through ShopSave, the user gets a substantial commission income, so, basically, it allows them to make money while doing nothing.

It is precisely because this is a win-win strategy, it has quickly become an ancillary industry of e-commerce shopping APPs. With the rapid development of e-commerce, the content guide e-commerce platforms will increase their influence at market, so the cashback and coupons APP, such as ShopSave itself, has huge development prospects.

About ShopSave

ShopSave brings huge amounts of products with super discounts which have high cashback and high commissions. Here, you can get the coupons first, then save money on shopping and earn commissions by sharing goods. Careershe is launched by JobForesight, the first Singapore-based startup from Oxford University incubator

SINGAPORE, July 17, 2020JobForesight, a startup that provides comprehensive careers information for students, has become the first Singapore-based venture to emerge from Oxford University Innovation’s startup incubator and launched Careershe, a career advice app.

Careershe, whose flagship product is a smartphone app that offers structured and transparent content about different occupations, was founded by Singaporean Oxford MBA graduate Steve Xie.

Developed during Xie’s MBA at Saïd Business School and with the help of Oxford University Innovation (OUI) – the University’s technology transfer arm — the app is initially being aimed at students in China.

Xie said: ‘The problem we are trying to solve is the lack of information available for young people about the types of career they can pursue. We can help them better understand what it’s like to be a lawyer, or a blockchain engineer, or to work in AI. Careershe offers a one-stop shop for students who lack access to high-quality career guidance.’

According to a study by the higher education consultancy MyCOS, nearly a third of graduates in China leave their first job within the first six months — almost 2 million students yearly. The current lack of career education provision in China, and its transition towards high-value industries, made it the ideal market, in Xie’s view, for the Careershe app.

Xie, who completed a degree in electrical engineering at the National University of Singapore before joining the building materials industry, has drawn on personal experience for this venture. He said: ‘The biggest problem was that I did not have a clue about what an electrical engineer actually does until the later stages of my degree course. Had I known about the potential career outcomes, I would probably have taken a different academic direction altogether.’

Co-founder Eddie Chng, a Singaporean businessman who is the CEO of the security technology company DiSa Digital Safety Pte Ltd, said: ‘The main reason I invested into this idea is because I have seen the human capital growth that has taken place in Singapore since the 1990s. This is exactly what is happening now in China, except that people in China are even hungrier for growth and progression.’

Guangdong-based Careershe helps students aged between 15 and 25 learn more about the world of work, providing them with guidance in the available pathways towards their desired careers. Valuable content such as required qualifications, typical working hours, likely salaries, and career progression can be found in the app.

Xie added: ‘One notable feature of Careershe is our plan to embed big data and artificial intelligence technology in the product, which will help us provide better recommendations for our users. We currently have around 5,000 registered users, and the early feedback — particularly from teachers — has been positive.’

Chandra Sekar Ramanujan is a Senior Licensing and Ventures Manager at OUI, whose incubator identifies promising student or staff-led startups and helps them to market. Ramanujan said: ‘We are very much attracted to Steve’s vision for Careershe, as well as the thought and market research that has gone into developing the idea. We have supported Steve in validating his business model and connecting with Oxford University’s world-leading academic resources — notably in big data and AI. At this time we are particularly interested in promoting ventures and partnerships overseas.’

Careershe is the first overseas-based project arising from its software incubator in which OUI will take a shareholding stake. Having built the product, launched to market and gleaned insights from users over the past year, the company is now focused on raising funds from investors and seeking partnerships — for example, with schools in China.

Within China, Careershe is affiliated with the TusStar startup incubator programme. Xie said: ‘We are delighted to be working with TusStar, given the strong support it offers to startups and its widespread presence and connections throughout China, Singapore and the UK.’

Educational technology companies are well placed to support the emergence of online education solutions after COVID-19. Moreover, digitalization trends in the future of work are expected to accelerate given the recent proliferation of work from home. Xie added: ‘Careershe can be a beneficiary of these trends, as long as we continue to be nimble and ensure our career database stays relevant.’

The OUI startup incubator is led by Catherine Spence. The incubator is aimed at members and ex-members of the University of Oxford. Spence said: ‘The OUI startup incubator was set up to support non-traditional Oxford projects. Careershe certainly fits that mould — breaking new ground and bringing further diversity into our portfolio.’

About Careershe

Careershe is a smartphone app product of JobForesight Pte. Ltd. JobForesight strives to bridge the gap between academic and careers world by providing transparency to students on careers, so that students can make a better decision during the academic pathways. Our smartphone solution allows students to access regularly updated information (requirements, incomes, future potential etc.) on different careers.

We hope to reduce youth’s anxiety and dilemma but, most importantly, reduce the social cost of students leaving careers after a short stint and realizing that they wasted significant time and resources acquiring technical skills that they do not use in the future. Most importantly, by providing transparency across careers and making it accessible to all students regardless of their economic status, we hope to level the playing field from the haves and haves not and also give students a sense of purpose and reason on why they need to work hard in their education.

LoginID announces Partners integrating its FIDO-certified Strong Customer Authentication platform

The LoginID FIDO2 and UAF certified Strong Customer Authentication platform will provide Data on Tap, Execuvault, NetCents, Global Asset Technology, POS Connect, and FroogalPay customers frictionless, secure biometric logins, removing the need for traditional logins and passwords

SAN MATEO, California, July 14, 2020 — LoginID Inc. has announced new partnerships as part of its launch of FIDO-as-a-Service, for small and medium sized enterprises.  This follows on its recent announcement for the Indonesian market, with eKYC leader, ASLI RI. The new partners announced will integrate the LoginID FIDO2 and UAF certified biometric strong customer authentication in support of various use-cases.

By integrating the LoginID strong customer authentication, partners will now be able to reduce end-user dependency on weak logins and passwords.  According to the FIDO Alliance, 64% of eCommerce customers and 78% of peer to peer transfer users, prefer stronger authentication versus traditional logins and passwords.  With LoginID’s FIDO-as-a-Service, partners will be able to provide their customers additional confidence, and higher security in their daily digital interactions, eliminating passwords and logins.  “Developers and enterprises are looking for very low-lift integrations of leading-edge products. Our FIDO2 and UAF certified strong customer authentication can be integrated in less than an hour, and will provide end-users a frictionless experience” says Simon Law, CEO of LoginID.

Differing from proprietary biometric solutions, the LoginID FIDO2 and UAF certified platform utilizes cryptographic security based on the customer’s device hardware, therefore it is not vulnerable to hacks or OS takeovers.  It works right out of the box, with no additional hardware or downloadable software required by customers.  The customer experience is very simple and intuitive, with a ‘biometric login’ button displayed, where customers can use their fingerprint scanner on their device to login to an application or website.  Customers won’t have to remember passwords or use other weaker forms of logging in.

Data on Tap is a Canadian based telecom technology company that is developing a digital ecosystem of highly-customized mobile services serving smartphone customers.  “With the LoginID FIDO2 service we will be able to increase digital in-app and web interactions security and where required provide additional authentication and user level control,” says Algis Akstinas, CEO of Data on Tap.  “This will also alleviate any customer concerns around SIM swap attacks, which is becoming more of a prevalent issue for customers”.

Execuvault is a Toronto-based FinTech Startup on a mission to transform the legacy transfer process using blockchain technology. Self-executing smart contracts record the terms of users’ directives and bequests (assets, investments, life insurance policies, and documents— securely stored in a personalized vault); and then validate the criteria for assignment and disbursement. The XV Legacy Transfer Platform automates the division of funds through trusted transactions —which are digitally notarized and irrefutable— and can be carried out among disparate, anonymous parties; without the need for a central authority or external enforcement mechanism.   “We see a lot of flexibility around how we can easily integrate FIDO2 biometrics into our existing customer experience with LoginID” says Brian Kieller, CEO of ExecuVault.

NetCents Technology (CSE: N.C. / Frankfurt: 26N / OTCQB: NTTCF) provides a very simple way for merchants to accept cryptocurrency as a payment option for their customers. By integrating the NetCents crypto payment button, merchants have an easy way to process various cryptocurrencies and as a complement to traditional payment methods.  “Security is top of mind for our merchants and their clients.  Anything we can do to help further secure out interactions with our merchants or their customers, will help increase our future transaction volume,” says Pat Albright, Executive Vice President at NetCents Technology.

FroogalPay is middleware that provides software developers a quick and easy way to accept payments from within their application.  “Our clients not only need the highest standard around security, but we need to ensure that we provide ways to increase conversions.  With LoginID’s FIDO2 biometric button, there are various ways merchants can integrate into their customer journeys, making it simpler and safer for customers to pay while protecting merchants from fraud.” says Jonathan Reinsdorf, CEO of FroogalPay.

Global Asset Technology has developed an asset based crypto token that can be used towards traditional assets.  “With LoginID we will secure our interactions for our institutional clients, who need simple, yet rigorous security that eliminates threats to their accounts from outside parties” says Steve Katmarian, CEO of Global Asset Technology.

POS Connect is a software developer and payment processor which provides merchants and enterprises secure ways to bill and collect payments.  “More and more of our services are global in nature.  Since the FIDO standard is aligned with regulatory standards such as PSD2 and GDPR, our clients will have assurances that services they are providing meet the expectations of the market as it relates to security and privacy” says Marius Kimel, CEO of POS Connect.

Simon Law, CEO of LoginID says “These partners provide a great cross section of the types of businesses that can leverage strong customer authentication by integrating a simple, biometric button.  We expect to see more and more companies like these recognizing how easy it is to protect their customers while at the same time improving the overall experience.”

LoginID will be adding more functions and features for partners and developers as part of its self-serve digital onboarding experience, in the coming weeks.

AMN Passes Milestone of 1 Billion Phone Calls Per Year

LONDON, July 10, 2020 — Africa Mobile Networks (AMN) is pleased to announce that it now processes more than 1 billion phone calls annually for subscribers in previously unconnected rural areas in Sub-Saharan Africa.

In June 2020, AMN processed 91,623,222 voice calls, representing an annualised rate of 1.1 billion calls per annum, plus also nearly 6 terabytes (6,000 GB) of data. These services are provided to rural users in Sub-Saharan Africa who previously were mostly unconnected before AMN’s investment in the mobile network infrastructure. AMN now owns and operates approximately 1,200 base stations serving a population of 4 million people in 8 countries: Nigeria, DRC, Cameroon, Guinea, Zambia, Bissau, Liberia and Congo. The 2G/3G/4G mobile network services are provided by AMN on behalf of tier-1 licensed mobile network operators in each country.

AMN is installing new base stations at a rate of about 200 per month and by the end of 2020 will have nearly 2,000 base stations. AMN ultimately aims to deliver mobile network services to over 60 million people in up to 30 countries with more than 20,000 base stations. AMN’s solutions are 100% ubiquitous, without restrictions due to power or backhaul connectivity, and can be deployed at any location throughout the continent with no exceptions.

AMN’s success has been built on ultra-low capex and opex solutions, and an innovative, fully-turnkey Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) commercial model, which enables AMN to deliver mobile network services economically to smaller communities than has ever been possible before. AMN is now able to serve communities as small as 500 people with long-term economic sustainability. All of the major pan-African tier-1 operators partner with AMN to extend their network coverage deep into rural Africa. AMN offers the turnkey NaaS model with both revenue-share and opex commercial models for the operator, where revenue-share means no opex risk as well as no capex investment for the operator and the opex model enables sites to be built at any location specified by the operator.

About AMN

Africa Mobile Networks, established in 2013, is headquartered in the UK with subsidiary operating companies in 10 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. AMN’s vision is for no community of any size in Africa to be without affordable access to essential voice and data telecommunication services. AMN’s mission is to build more than 20,000 mobile network base stations, delivering 2G, 3G and 4G (and later 5G) telecom services to previously-unconnected communities. AMN is backed by Intelsat, operator of the world’s largest integrated satellite and terrestrial network, as an investor, shareholder and provider of access to high-quality and high-throughput satellite capacity across Africa. AMN enjoys a strong partnership with a global internet giant to accelerate the inclusion of 3G/4G services to provide rural users with access to the same information and social media applications enjoyed by the rest of the world.

Asia Pacific University wins the Atos IT Challenge 2020 with innovative app

‘PestKillerBot’ uses drones to manage pest control in floricultural fields

PARIS, July 10, 2020 — Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, today announces the winners of its international student competition, the Atos IT Challenge. The winners were presented with their awards yesterday during the Ceremony which took place during the digital Atos Technology Days. Now in its ninth year, the competition saw teams from 27 countries around the world compete on the theme of ‘Cooperative Artificial Intelligence‘.

After an initial first round in which 16 teams were selected, the Atos IT Challenge Jury, made up of experts and Atos executives, chose three finalists. These are:

  • 1st prize and competition winner: Asia Pacific University, Malaysia

"PestKillerBot" is an innovative and easy-to-use application which eliminates the pest in floricultural fields using drones which perform pest control and data collection. The Drone simulator autonomously flies over a field to detect diseases or harmful bugs and kills them. The solution architecture is divided into four parts: the Area Allocation, Path Finding with Path Planning, Pest Detection, and Drone Activation Simulation allowing users to see how the divided field is covered by each drone. The students have developed a drone prototype with a 3D printer and several components.

The team won EUR10,000 and each student was offered the opportunity to do either an internship at Atos or to work together with the company to develop their project.

  • 2nd prize: Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores Monterrey, Mexico

This innovative solution called "Digital Water" aims to deliver water consumption solutions to households and the water supply company. It is a web application that predicts water consumption and the water level across 3 dams. The aim of the project is to provide details so that users can track consumption levels, waste, and issues to improve water resource management. The team has five years’ worth of data. They have trained their modes for four years and have tested it for one year.

The team won EUR5,000 and each student was offered the opportunity to do either an internship at Atos or to work together with the company to develop their project.

  • 3rd prize: Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia

With an innovative solution to improve traffic, the "CTC – Cooperative Traffic Control" app simulates traffic light controls using Deep Reinforcement Learning. Each junction acts as an agent that takes an action (extends or reduces the green/red time) depending on the cars and waiting time in the lane. The application also gets information from the nearest junctions. The team has trained and tuned the model to get the best model configuration for the traffic light control.

The team won EUR3,000 and each student was offered the opportunity to do either an internship at Atos or to work together with the company to develop their project.

This year, the jury also awarded a special prize to an entry that particularly stood out, for both the significance of the topic tackled and the dedication of the team.

  • Special Jury prize: Loughborough University, United Kingdom

"Initial Survey Swarm" is a solution for a maze simulator where drone agents collect knowledge about a maze over a set period. The drones can share the information they find to search destroyed buildings by generating a 3D map or representation of it after an earthquake or where there is a lack of internet coverage.

At the end of the ceremony, Sophie Proust, Group Chief Technical Officer, Atos said: "AI technology is revolutionizing all sectors of the economy and society, and today the brilliant students in the Atos IT Challenge demonstrated real entrepreneurial skills by offering innovative and concrete solutions that meet the new needs of cooperative AI expressed by businesses and individuals. I am impressed by the outstanding creativity and the quality of the contributions of the award-winning finalists. Congratulations to our winners and to all of our contestants!"

The Atos IT Challenge 2021 was also announced. Next year, students will have the opportunity to develop innovative concepts around the theme of "How digital can help decarbonize non-digital".

Since its creation in 2012, the Atos IT Challenge has empowered students from around the world to develop applications connected to major trends in the digital revolution, such as smart mobility, connected cars, interactive media, connected life, the "right to be forgotten", blockchain and artificial intelligence. Students are mentored by members of Atos Scientific Community who provide technical and practical support, advice and encouragement.
