Smillage, Cootek’s Invested Game Studio, Published A New Hit Mobile Game

SHANGHAI, Dec. 27, 2021 — Recently, the hyper-casual game "Hotties Up" has reached the top three of the US iOS game ranking a few days after released. The dress-up parkour game is published by Smillage, the game studio CooTek (Cayman) Inc. (NYSE: CTK) ("CooTek" or the "Company") invested in. The success of "Hotties Up" marks a milestone for Smillage of expanding the business from game development to game publishing. Earlier this year, Smillage has also created several popular games such as "Catwalk Beauty", "Truth Runner" and "Love Fantasy".

"Hotties Up" combines dress-up parkour and scenario-based features. In the game, a specific theme will be set at the beginning of each level, and players will choose the costume accordingly to proceed. When the parkour is over, a short story will be unlocked with dialogue options for players to choose from. After that, the love progress chart will be displayed to the player. With the success of "Hotties Up", Smillage continues to enhance their existing advantages in parkour games targeting Generation Z female players.

GOOVIS HMD Ensures Comfortable Low Blue-Light Viewing Environment and Low Visual Fatigue in the Virtual World

  • Certified GOOVIS HMD provides ‘Good Vision’ for holiday celebration

HONG KONG, Dec. 24, 2021GOOVIS, the product brand of NED Optics, a technical leading company in the XR Head-Mounted Display (HMD) field, has been praised by industry experts and consumers for producing premium HMD products with principles of quality and safety. Its products transcend typical viewing devices, which sometimes can cause fatigue and discomfort, and instead offer protective optical technology that does not detract from the high-quality visual experience. As shoppers gear up for the holiday celebrations, the GOOVIS Amazon store brings an impressive range of products suitable for numerous multimedia activities during the holiday, with special discounts offered.

(Visit http://www.goovislife.com/ to explore more.)

"The practical application of VR/AR, or XR in general, is becoming a popular topic. For many users, the first word they relate to VR/AR is immersion. So, some devices prioritize immersion by leading people’s senses to wander around in the virtual world but fail to maintain clarity. This causes fatigue and discomfort, or even potential damage to eyes," said Dr. Huajun Peng, Founder and CEO of NED Optics. "This is one challenge GOOVIS HDM has tried to address. We aim to create the highest clarity for users when they are entering the world behind the screen. And this should be premised on comfort – dizziness-free, no eyestrain, and protecting users against the dangers of blue light damage."

GOOVIS received the world’s first SGS Metaverse series: Low Visual Fatigue certification this November. In 2020 the brand earned the TÜV Rheinland certification for providing a comfortable low blue-light viewing environment, becoming the world’s first full-mode low blue light eye protection headset which defines GOOVIS as being ahead of its competition in user safety. Prior to this, GOOVIS passed the rigorous eye health safety assessment of the National Ophthalmology Engineering Center, obtaining a four-star safety certification for all their products in 2018.

The main strengths aiding these certifications is the AMOLED micro-display eye protection screen and the company’s patented optical technologies. Compared with traditional computer and mobile phone screens, GOOVIS HMD reduces blue light damage by more than 70%. Blue light from electronics has been linked to health problems like blurry vision, eyestrain, dry eye, macular degeneration, and cataracts. Consumers have praised GOOVIS for their technological control of blue light exposure, protecting potential eye damage, and increasing user comfort.

(For more details or to order, please visit GOOVIS Amazon store at: https://amzn.to/3AIOmPi )

Safety and ease are also important aspects of all GOOVIS products, and consumers regularly commend the incorporation of binocular diopter and inter-pupillary distance adjustments. Allowing users to independently adjust the HMD, this protective technology supports 300 degrees for hyperopia and 800 degrees for myopia, so users could enjoy a clear and 3D stereoscopic viewing experience without myopia glasses and with less strain on the eyes.

Consumers have praised the strong protective qualities of GOOVIS products for increasing comfort and extending viewing periods, with many users in the medical field utilizing GOOVIS for training sessions exceeding 6 hours. This long-wearing capability is further exhibited in its ability to immerse the user in the visual experience, allowing for a focused viewing session whenever and wherever.

Although visually, the device looks comparable to other HMD on the market, GOOVIS has been commended for their protective optical technology, producing premium quality viewing products that appear to be above and beyond their competition. Proving to be a trustworthy producer of high-quality products, GOOVIS is redefining a new way to experience multimedia entertainment.

Kiwontech’s targeted email attack protection technology standard selected as national government

SEOUL, South Korea, Dec. 23, 2021Kiwontech‘s newly-developed targeted email attack protection technology has been selected as the leading ICT standard of Korea.

Kiwontech CI
Kiwontech CI

One of Korea’s most prominent IT security companies and a JV member of Born2Global Centre, Kiwontech is pursuing the commercialization of its global email security standards-compliant IT security technologies in Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam. In November, Kiwontech and Vnetwork, a Vietnamese content delivery network (CDN) operator, formed the joint venture VnetKiwon Security.

The Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA), the authority on the setting and implementation of ICT standards in Korea, has adopted Kiwontech’s technology, called "Security functional requirements for the prevention of targeted email attacks" (TTAK.KO-12.0379), as a Telecommunications Technology Association Standard (TTAS).

This new TTAS will serve as an email security benchmark for companies in international business and retail that use email to send and receive financial and other sensitive information as well as general businesses that use email across their operations. Kiwontech’s development of this technology began in December 2020.

The company’s goal from the beginning of the development process was to have the technology chosen as a national email security standard, and the resulting solution is capable of diagnosing email security risks associated with fraud against users and businesses, information leaks, and ransomware. More than 50 government agencies, SMBs, and other entities have already completed trials of Kiwontech’s new email security solution, which replaces flesh-and-blood IT security consultants with AI in the detection, analysis, and reporting of email security threats, a breakthrough that will enable a rapid market launch of the company’s technology.

Kiwontech’s TTAS will serve as a valuable reference for corporate IT security teams in auditing email security and purchasing-related solutions and enable email security solution developers to supplement and optimize security functions to ensure the reliability of the email security products their customers use.

Kiwontech CEO Kim Dong-cheol said, "Selected standards for targeted email attack protection were something needed not just in Korea but all over the world. The governments of many developed countries have been involved in the acquisition and supply of such standardized email security technology for some time."

53 million additional cases of depression raises concern about gaps in healthcare delivery

According to a study on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental disorders by Dr. Damian F. Santomauro and his colleagues at the University of Queensland, Australia, (published in online Lancet journal), the number of patients with major depressive disorder and anxiety disorders increased by more than 53 million and 76 million, respectively, with higher rates among women and young people. According to the Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) MAP published by the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF), the availability of mental health services across the U.S. varies from region to region, with most regions meeting less than 50% of the demand for mental health services, which is inadequate.

Addressing regional disparities by enhancing treatment effectiveness with VR-facilitated treatment

Using VR technology in the treatment of depression can be a significant adjunct to enhance treatment effectiveness by allowing the patient to have a more realistic experience. Patients are able to immerse themselves almost "in vivo" in a VR environment and experience "first- hand" typical situations that are relevant to depressed patients. They identify with the characters in the scenes being able to take multiple subjective positions in the situations that are displayed. Watching the characters in the scenes express their thoughts and perspectives from a distanced position, can help patients reflect on their own thoughts and perspectives in similar situations in their lives. Enhancing the effectiveness of available treatments for depression can help alleviate the burden associated with the increasing demand for adequate mental health services worldwide.

<Comments from the professional consultants>

Dr. Kim Larsson and Dr. Amaro Laria joined the Jolly Good VRDTx project as professional consultants in 2021. They are the co-founders and co-directors of Boston Behavioral Medicine, LLC in Boston, MA, USA. Dr. Larsson is a graduate of Boston College School of Nursing, and a former supervisor at Cambridge Health Alliance, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Laria is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston and a current Clinical Instructor in the Psychiatry Department of Cambridge Health Alliance, Harvard Medical School. They have expertise in behavioral medicine and currently run a training program.

"VRDTx can help improve quality and effectiveness in treating depression, which in turn can alleviate some of the burden associated with regional disparities in the US."
Katharine "Kim" Larsson, PhD, RN, CS
Co-founder & Clinical Director
Boston Behavioral Medicine, LLC

"The COVID-19 pandemic has limited social interactions causing many to become isolated, which has significantly fueled levels of depression and anxiety. In turn, being depressed and anxious causes people to become more isolated, which impacts negatively on their functioning. VR technology can be an important adjunct for psychotherapists in the treatment of depression. "

"I foresee that VR technology will become more routine in the treatment of mental health conditions, and will represent an important clinical tool for psychotherapists to enhance the effectiveness of their treatments. Given the increasing demand for services and serious shortage of mental health clinicians, enhancing the effectiveness of our current treatments for depression will be essential in addressing this global mental health crisis."

"VRDTx can allow depressed patients to immerse themselves in real life situations, which can significantly enhance the effectiveness of their treatments"

"VR technology brings an experiential and interactive element into the therapy room. It’s an important complement to the ‘talking’ element in psychotherapy, and it results in a more balanced and comprehensive treatment. For example, if a patient is talking about their lack of motivation, the therapist can invite them to reflect on a scene they watched in a VR session, which provides a more vivid and concrete illustration of what the lack of motivation may look like in real life.

Moreover, watching a realistic scene in a VR environment may trigger a particular memory of a similar situation in their own lives, which will allow them to process this material in their talking therapy. VRDTx can also facilitate the process of learning strategies like self-monitoring and cognitive restructuring, which are core to cognitive-behavioral therapy, by providing a role play opportunity through a realistic illustration in VR. It can also be a good replacement for in-vivo exposure, especially in situations in which it’s difficult to recreate real life exposure situations.

VRDTx was developed by Jolly Good and is based on basic principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy ("CBT"), adapting CBT strategies to a VR environment. This treatment strategy allows patients to experience "realistic role play" situations that are typical of many individuals suffering from depression. The experiential quality of this treatment tool can make treatment more relevant to patients, which in turn can significantly enhance treatment effectiveness.
