With the latest release, the complete development toolchain IAR Embedded Workbench® for RISC-V adds support for latest Andes RISC-V extension and devices, enabling maximized performance in RISC-V-based applications. 

Through its excellent optimization technology, IAR Embedded Workbench for RISC-V helps developers ensure the application fits the required needs and optimize the utilization of on-board memory. Dual Hosting for Split Screen Broadcasting

Picosun’s ALD technology boosts UVC LED performance

ESPOO, Finland, Sept. 24, 2020 — Picosun Group, the leading supplier of AGILE ALD® (Atomic Layer Deposition) thin film coating technology, reports excellent results in UVC (ultraviolet-C) LED performance, achieved with the company’s ALD solutions.

Excellent reliability and lifetime improvements of UVC LEDs have been obtained at Picosun’s customer and collaboration partner site, National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Taiwan, using passivation and barrier films deposited with PICOSUN® ALD equipment(*). ALD passivation layer could potentially replace the expensive hermetic seal package of the LEDs and thus lower the costs of the final device.

In order to reach maximum light output and long operating lifetime, LED chips require surface passivation to eliminate parasitic currents caused by traps and defects. Also barrier coating is typically needed as LED materials are sensitive to moisture. ALD is an ideal technique to manufacture both the passivation and barrier films – and when the LED size diminishes to micrometer dimensions, the only coating method capable of producing high enough quality films on the required minuscule scale. Ultra-thin, pinhole-free ALD films do not suppress the LED light intensity and they provide reliable protection against ambient conditions, whereas their superior conformality ensures no thickness variations between the facets of the LED chip. Thickness variations, typical side effect of other coating methods, can potentially lead to uneven distribution of film stress or thermal expansion behavior and risk physical damage of the chip.

Short-wavelength UVC radiation destroys bacteria and viruses so UVC LED technology is particularly topical now during the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Small, lightweight LEDs enable versatile design of portable, compact disinfecting equipment, they consume less power than other UVC sources, they are durable, and they pose no risk of hazardous material leaks such as e.g. mercury lamps.

GURUGRAM, India, July 2, 2020 — The Hon’ble Union Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated VVDN Technologies new Global Innovation Park (GIP)– engineering and manufacturing facility- in Manesar, Haryana, India, via video conferencing.

“It is an achievement for Government of India’s vision for an ‘Atamanirbhar Bharat’ when Indian Tech companies like VVDN take on the challenge of Designing and Manufacturing high-tech electronic products and components in India and set their eyes for global success,” said Hon’ble Minister while inaugurating the VVDN’s Global Innovation Park (GIP) Facility via video conference.

Stating VVDN as a success story, Minister highlighted the need for Import substitution, Cost effective, pollution free, Indigenous product manufacturing in India. He added that VVDN’s Global Innovation Park, where under one roof all facilities of International standard designing, testing laboratories and production basis international standards will be done is futuristic and the way forward.

Spread across 10 Acres, VVDN’s Global Innovation Park (GIP) is marked with R&D and Electronic Manufacturing Facility. It is one-of-its-kind of facilities in India which has the capacity to accommodate 1,00,000 people over the next three years. VVDN Technologies was founded in 2007, with an aim to provide excellent engineering and manufacturing services to its customers. Since then company has been working on next generation technology innovation and have set up R&D centers across India as well as best in class manufacturing facilities in Manesar. With the new GIP facility, VVDN will have a multifold increase in its current capacity for electronic product engineering and manufacturing for a wide range of innovative versatile solutions including 5G Equipment, Trackers, Dashcams, Cameras, Wi-Fi Access Points.

PM Narendra Modi congratulated VVDN Team and sent a letter with his best wishes.
